I have 2 PS2, 2 PS3 and 4 PS4 controller. All of them are still working without problem.

But, I've 4 PS5 controller and every single one of them got stick drift after 4-5 months. Each of them was repaired at least twice before their warranty expired. I had them repaired once for a fee after the warranty expired. Now, all of them have the same stick drift problem again. I no longer use them. I bought 2 new (V2) ones.

Ah, the dude is in Malaysia. Not sure if he's accessible to you guys. Also I saw some hall stick modules on sale on Alibaba.com. if you have soldering skills, I reckon you could DIY it. They don't cost that much either. But I'm pretty sure there's someone in the US who does these modifications too, you could post your controllers and such. Forgot the name, it was in one of those dual sense reddit groups.

I also read hall stick modules have issues with calibration after the change, so I myself am unsure of the quality after the change.

Had 3 DualSense controllers, all of them developed stick drift. I fixed all 3 of them. The one that was the worst got sold with my OG PS5 and was replaced by the brand new one that came with the PS5 Pro. I don't use that one for online FPS games at all. As for the other 2, one is still fine, but the other, which is the one I mainly use for online FPS games, is starting to drift again. I'm not really looking forward to taking it apart again but I'm gonna have to do it to be able to stay competitive.

yeah, it fucking sucks 2/3 so far for me, and crossing my fingers it won't happen with my current one. This should be a massive lawsuit at this point.

Easiest fix ever :
Buy some thumb grips, I always used them and I never had a problem with the caps spinning.

In fact, for what they cost , they're easily one of the best "investments" when it comes to gaming

Amazon/Temu/AE are full of choices, just don't spend 10-20 Eurodollars for those "professional FPS Gaming" ones, they're bullshit, just get some normal, flat ones brother...
On Temu and AE you could get 4-6 of these for a pittance btw...

Personally, I'm using the black with the white circle ones on my white dualsense and the black with the red circle ones on my black dualsense, they look good, fit well but most importantly, they protect the thumb sticks...

3 of 4 of my ps5 controllers have some degree of stick drift. It’s absolutely infuriating. There needs to be a lawsuit about this. I’m so tired of buying new controllers only for them to start drifting within weeks.

The ps5 controllers are complete pieces of shit.

My original black controller for the Series X stick drifted under warranty. Got it replaced... drifting now.
I had a red one that drifted under warranty. Got it replaced... drifting now.

All of my older Xbox One controllers are drifting now.


At this point its a bit like Airpods... you're lucky to get 2 years.

I only noticed the drift on my Dualsense when I played Prey. I think it's because most games have a little margin before they register movement, but Prey registers everything. I was quite annoyed, but got used to it. Haven't really had any major issues with other games, but if it gets worse I'll probably check some DIY videos.

You could get some hall effect replacement sticks from ebay and have them installed by the guy you found. Problem solved.

K-Silver Electromagnetic Joystick, better than Hall Effect for DualSense. Flatter response, less noise. Better sensor.

Still got magnets inside. Basically an upgrade upon Hall Effect.

I'm curious how much better will be Capacitive Joystick like JL16 from K-Silver.

Actually not a bad idea. So you can fuck with Sony AND amazon.

I did this with a PS5 pro. Had a dualsense sitting in the closet with major stick drift. Returned the Pro but swapped the old gamepad with a fresh one.
