It makes Witcher 3 a console game because when designed they had in mind to run it on a Jaguar. It's an example of how consoles have impacted the development of PC games (some argue, held it back from the gains of the past.)
And this console generation PCs are holding console games back. I mean have you seen the minimum specs for Wukong..........

Looks like a picture from that old feelgood-movie "Salo, or the 120 days of Sodom" !

This forum seems a bit obsessed with this guy, though.

Yes, that is exactly what W3 is, using my logic...lol

Surely he means a 360 game? because the WiiU was more powerful than the 360 and the Switch is better or on par with the WiiU, so the 360 is the weakest system it was designed for, wasn't it?

"My logic" wasn't that a game is defined by the lowest possible system it's ever ported to. I meant it's defined by the target hardware in mind when first designing it. If they knew they wanted a Switch version when they first made it, the game may have a different design. They may not have made a game that needed extreme cuts and arduous work to port to Switch. They would likely have been a little less ambitious and made a scalable game. Had it been made as a PC game without worrying about consoles -it may have been possible to downport to consoles but never Switch at all. It might have features baked-in to its design that are still possible with graphical cuts on console but never on Switch no matter what you do.

I can't imagine how much different TOTK would be if they knew from day one it would target Switch 2 specs instead with no Switch version. Completely different game. Just the processing requirements of physics stuff alone is huge and that's the tip of the iceberg.

He's right. Paid exclusivity is stupid and it's proving to be bad for third party developers as well (see Square Enix).

Or see Rise of the ronin and Stellar blade.

Can’t wait for the news to say “Silent Hill 2 underperforms.” These exclusive deals don’t seem to workout lately.

Other than Square who else has complained about exclusive deals?

Makes no difference. The PC version being held back is still a PC game with all its advantages.
IMO nobody really realizes PCs are just running console games at mega settings because there are hardly any games that take advantage of possibilities on PC anyway. There are very few games designed in such a way that would be too hard to strip down for a console, such as destructible environments or physics, things you can't count on being fixed by lowering the slider. But that's kinda the point...maybe if they weren't worried about making console compatible games, we would get more of that.

Sure thing man. Honestly, don't give a shit about what he says/does. I am tired of all the fake outrage posts tho. Y'all are just as bad as the purple forum lmao

Did you read all the posts pointing out how he was dead silent about all the exclusive games that have come to xbox over the years?
Btw found a pic of you:

But it is

Almost no single game can take real advantage with the PS5 gimmick, so, outside of Sony lending money, doesn't make sense

Were there ever any screens of that infamous discord he was in? I've heard about it for a long time and get the idea but I don't know any details.

As i read the OP, it reads like taking a shot at him.

But aside of that, the hatewatch is... interesting.
He might be taking a shot at him but it's warranted in my view. Maybe you can't see the difference in reaction from Alex to exclusivity depending on who it is.

Silent Hill 2 remake being console exclusive:

Alex reaction: Silent Hill and PlayStation have such a storied history. I guess it is now a storied future. Remake exclusivity. Interesting!

Announcement of the possibility of Bethesda and Doom going xbox console exclusive.

Alex reaction: Pathetic.

Do you see how hypocritical of a take this would be if it were to happen the other way too? They work exactly the same.

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?

Not in those exact words, but Sega has repeatedly made public statements about expanding their big franchises as multi-platform games.

eg, from one of their press reports a couple of years back.

You gave me the most generic response possible. And it was like pulling teeth to get you to say that much. You seem unable to call Microsoft out directly. Baffling really.

Ok.

Sure but we also have statements from Rise of Ronin and Stellar blade devs doing very well with excluisivty. It's just going to depend on the game and the amount of money you put into it. I wont even get into Square's issues of constantly having issues with their sales.

Here's a thread in 2021 with people discussing Square never being satisfied with their sales.

You know what's pathetic? PS owners have enjoyed Foamstars for over a year. Xbox owners want a taste of it. Don't even need the full game, just a video trailer or even a demo. 720p that shit if you can't get it running on Series X. I don't give a fuck!!

Sorry. I guess he hasn't been paying attention for the last 40 years of games consoles whom all have had exclusives. I guess because Xbox doesn't have them anymore so Sony is a big meanie for not sharing and making deals. All phill ever has to do is write a bigger check than Sony. He simply refuses. He'd rather buy the whole studio. That's cool though? What a fucking twat.

Oh so now it's paid exclusivity? We know the goalpost will just move again if that stops. "Why should it be exclusive even if they own the studio and made the IP in-house? It's not fair people who chose other platforms knowing what they'd be missing out on, chose those other platforms. It's anti-consumerism!!"

Same song and dance, same old talking points fed by a cult leader who happens to be the CEO of a gaming division that spent $80 billion into becoming a 3P. Just so tiring.

I don't think its pathetic. It'll come to other platforms eventually. Sony are probably paying well for it and they're giving Konami a tonne of support. I'm sure they'll make a lot of money.

In the good old days pc wankers didnt even know what a console is or a console game. And they never cared. But now they need every big game to justify their investment or else they are stuck with cheap indie games for the rest of their existance.

Pc wanker are the worst port beggers of the century
Now this, this is truly pathetic.
