Here are my playtimes for AC games I've played the last few years. This is just for the base games, not DLC.

Half of that playtime was just your geriatric ass sleeping in front of the tv, be honest :messenger_blowing_kiss:

Please do. I'm curious how is it on your end and how much you completed.
Oh i never complete there games to 100%, so that's probably why.

I usually get bored of ubisoft ac formula by the 40 hours mark so i don't stretch my experience like i do with better open world games where i can clock 80-100 hours.

Probably, but I can only see it being "needed" in origins, because that game has some atrocious level gating if you're just trying to go through the story and ignoring the repetitive side-missions.
It wasn't needed for odyssey since you could swap your loadouts for specific types of damage,
a bit annoying to keep swapping, but no grind required.
Absolutely superfluous in valhalla since that game had guaranteed assassinations regardless of level, so no level gating, and you couldn't really grind anyway since there were no side quests.

I'm assuming shadows also has guaranteed assassinations, so any xp boosts would be worthless as well.
Strong disagree, changing equip to do more warrior\stealth damage was nowhere near enough to beat the difference in level, i had to do way more shitty sidequest in odissey compared to origins.

Not sure how the hell our experience can be so different tbh.

It isn't until you get certain perks, there is one that cuts your health to 25% but gives you a massive damage boost, same with another that gave insane headshot damage, if you combine those into loadouts specifically for hunter damage and assassin damage, you can murder pretty much anyone without grinding by just switching.
Later on they even added a perk in an update that does allow guaranteed assassinations.

I'm still a fan of AC, but I can't disagree with you. Not a lot of original thinking going into the franchise for quite some time. They put more into caricatures of historical figures than most anything else and that's probably the part I wish they would leave out the most.

I like Odyssey the best in that era of AC as well. Origins is a close second though.
I prefer origin, combat is more slow, heavy and less arcadey.

Odissey enemies are a bit too spongey.

Ok so maybe later on it is an option, but for a decent part of the game it is really not.

I replayed odissey recently for like 30 hours and i was still level gated when i stopped.

I did noticed the immediate assassination perk with the minigame but that doesn't help when you are in open combat, also, wasn't it there at launch? I swear i used that thing at launch.

Both games have moments where if you follow the golden path the level requirements between areas spike drastically, basically forcing you to grind side quests like you're playing a fucking MMO.

True, i just had more of that in odissey, apparently things can vary from person to person.

I guess it depends on how much exploring you do or how lucky you get, because I remember the spear with the 25% health perk coming from a chest, so you can basically go get it at any time. Not sure about the headshot one.

It was not, they added it with the valhalla cross-over event, what they did add before that was an accessibility option (cheat) for guaranteed assassinations.

Origins slogged me out so I can't comment on the slogginess of Valhalla.

Well from the reviews they said is almost double the bloatiness. The one from Skill Up said he had given up trying to finish Valhalla because of the abusive amount of repitiness the game have.

The romances in any AC game are cringe and horribly written, like most 90% of dialogue in Ubisoft games.

Nothing new there to be mindblowing about.

No wonder i have that grifter blocked.

The grifters are doing fulltime work to drum up some last minute release hate!
My coworker and I were just talking about how we both fucked the same old lady npc in Odyssey as Cassandra yesterday. Both of us were laughing cause it was the 1st romance option available and it was so random.

My buddy thought the husband was just chilling on the couch like a cuckold situation but I couldn't remember.

Imagine calling side quests "grinding"...

What time is it?

I believe it. A lot of modern games take ten hours worth of content and stretch it to 30+ hours. If double is true of Valhalla that would put it at around 200 hours. Geez.

The real ones should be - why the fuck all this even in the game, who asked for this and why waste valuable dev time, talent and sanity on this meaningless bs?
I never use it but if there is the possibility for straight romance why not gay romance

Equal opportunities is fair play

I would never choose the options so I dont mind it, let it be there for the ones who do.

But gay Kassandra is awesome

I haven't checked in on the state of AC lore in a while but iirc the main conceit of the Animus is that it allows you to relive the past lives of your direct genetic ancestors, right? Homosexuals tend to sire offspring... less often, lets say.

Its odd that the game lets you play as a completely gay person who is canonically bi (at best). Why not just make the character straight? Not every game needs to let you be a pansexual lothario, especially when it directly conflicts with established lore.

Though in Odyssey's case, that probably is the one where bi would make the most sense.

Also why the fuck not just make Yasuke+Naoe a thing, if you are presumably playing as one person who is related to both of them.

Okay first impressions, the combat is better than I thought, it has impact and it feels really good, I really love parries. Animations are good, they feel tight, the character movement has weight and it doesn't feel floaty.

Performance on pc is really good although I am playing on a 4090 so take this with a grain of salt but I dont have any stuttering or fps drops

Graphics look really good in general, no complaints so far

And the story has really grabbed me, the dialogues and cinematography is a step forward coming from the previous games

So far I am happy and surprised, I'll keep reporting papitos

Because Ubisoft is too scared to keep it straight only, maybe they will be looked at like 'excluding' LGTBQ. If they only do gay stuff, well you can guess the outcome

Because by Ubisoft progressive logic destroying Shinto shrines and Tori gates is fine, but an Asian gal getting destroyed by a BBC is a big no-no. Although something tells me this would make the game more popular in Japan going by their JAV fetishes…

It hasn't been that way since Black Flag. Anyone can relieve anyone's memories provided you have the DNA sample of the target.
