It's kind of sad how focused on sales we are getting. I participate in those discussions myself, but I swear it seems like we put 10x the focus on how a game sells than how it plays.

I am curious how much this would have sold if this was not available on Gamepass.

Releasing 'big titles' Day 1 on Gamepass does not seem like the smartest business decision.

But then again, I really don't give a shit - practically free games for me!

Why do people have such a hate hard on for this game?

It looks and scores in the “good but not great” bracket. Cause it’s not on PS5?
"Hate" is a strong word, but the short version of the explanation you are looking for is "Because the game is actually worse than its current score suggests".

They are trying really, really hard to re-frame this launch like a success story, but it isn't.

Funny, I didn't see you take the same stance on Concord.

I don't know that I participated a lot in discussions about Concord. Maybe a few posts here and there. I sure enjoyed watching Veilguard crash and burn, though. :) I participated a lot in those threads. (edit: If you're trying to insinuate that I'm an Xbox defender, you're way off.)

Like I said, I participate in it myself. Still, it's kind of sad we have such a focus on it.

For me personally it's a continuation of the mediocrity AAA games are producing.

Any studio with a reputation for making great games in the past should be crucified for producing half-arsed games that are just 'content' to kill time until something actually good comes along.

None of our hands are. Lol

Anyway, it wasn't necessarily aimed at you, but more in general.
People are very inconsistent with their opinions and views.

They are, but that can be a good thing, not a bad one. "A foolish consistency is the hobgoblins of little minds," Emerson said. He meant that anyone who thinks and learns will change their mind over time, so inconsistencies are to be expected.

Inconsistencies can be a sign that you see things differently now. We all do this - behave one way, then later reflect on it and see things differently. We all see the same thing from different angles over time. At least I hope we do. I'd worry about someone who didn't.

Avowed reached Steam’s Top Seller list four days before its full release, becoming America’s number-one-selling game on Steam. Now, spotted by Gameranx, an X post by Aaron Greenberg, VP of Games Marketing at Microsoft, reveals Obsidian has clinched the top spot in the UK, France, Germany, Italy, Sweden, Finland, and more, making the game the number one selling game globally on the platform.

In Finland's name, I appologise.
