Baldur’s Gate 3 now runs at native 4K, 60FPS on the PS5 Pro (after the latest patch)

What about act 3?

Wasn't the game CPU bound? If so I don't think it will maintain 60 FPS in those areas

Here I am preparing to pay for GFN for Act 3 on Steamdeck…

$20 vs. $800…

I was gonna post the they finna drag you meme but I'm sorely disappointed in the reaction to your terrible take.

I have faster Internet than most of the world and I'm not far from some data centers and I'd rather eat dog shit off a porcupines ass than stream a game for 10 fucking seconds. Go enjoy your laggy flat compressed mirage of a game while I play an actual instance on a PS5 Pro.

Game streaming is like waking up in Silent Hill and not being able to quite put your finger on why things are so shit but you can't shake the feeling and weird shit keeps happening and you just want to go home.

Nice.
I don't know, they said the same about Dragon's Dogma II. Why do a few shit NPCs bog down the CPU?

Dragons dogma was cpu limited at launch 100% but then got many, many patches that improved it.

BG3 should still run under 40fps in act 3.

Same with me. Imagine spending more on your car than the house you live in...... :/

I remember I used to see this guy always driving a jaguar but lived in the apartments across the street from me. These apartments were pretty cheap like $600 for a 1 bedroom. They weren't ghetto but not the nicest area either. What's even crazier is I ended up banging his daughter without even knowing it. She ended up calling her dad one day to get some spending money and the guy in the jaguar pulls up.

Or is it just one of Phil's balls in my throat?

PSSR makes the image quality more consistent but softer and in comparisons OG PS5 can come off sharper and more detailed in places even with a lower base resolution, per NXG.

Performance is marginally improved over OG PS5 in Act 3.

It is CPU bound and I don't see it holding 60fps in Baldur's Gate itself. That area is extremely demanding on the CPU. I'll be playing it later so will check for myself.
This. It's fucking pointless to use it in areas that were already 50FPS+ on the base PS5. On Steam Deck the initial area is easily 40-45FPS, Baldur's Gate in Act III chugs at 22-23FPS.

Finished the game this week (quite simply the best CRPG I've ever played). I've not tried Act 1 or 2 on the Pro but I'll assume they run really well for the most part as there are generally less NPCs gathered together in those areas. Baldurs Gate itself ran between mid 30s and 50s I think depending on where I was. It was fine though and even ran well in split screen.

This is one of those games where the FPS really doesn't matter all that much from a gameplay perspective since it's all turn based anyway. Obviously higher framerates are nicer but the dips didn't impact my enjoyment at all.

This is true is some still shot which is not that important, but in motion the pro look substantially sharper and better. You notice when he line up both version with movement.

Edit: this is why don't just compare still shot. DF noticed this in jedi-survivor and SH2. These games also exibit this behavior but at the same resolution or much lower resolutions with case of SH2.

Anyway, with PSSR cost, I hope they improve this with the new PSSR version. And if still image improved, then clarity in motion should also improve further.
