That AV Club review pretty much paints the worst picture for me as my Saturday showing is approaching: the film appears to be a bore. I don't know how that's possible but somehow BvS appears to be boring.

It's getting a directors cut on blu-ray with an R Rating too, not sure if that will help it much at this point though, but I don't want to judge it until I see it on Sunday, but it sure isn't sounding great.
It all makes sense now.

I strongly disagree, These two relatively ordinary people are faced with a world-spanning moral dilemma that they simply can’t get their heads around. They seek comfort and intimacy in each other, away from everything. It’s a very tender and human reaction to the events, I think.
That kind of misses the point. The conspiracy they agree to take part in is bigger than them as individuals and Dan agrees to be part of it because he sees its necessity. One life weighed against five billion. I haven’t got my copy of the comic on me at the moment but I don’t think he’s aware Rorschach is about to be whacked, though I could be wrong. Even if he did, I don’t think it’s cold to let a person die (especially when they clearly want to) when the fate of the entire human race is in the balance.

As I said, Ozy’s brutality during the murder of Blake stems entirely from the fact Blake beat him so badly during their first meeting. That’s a twenty odd year grudge he held. There is no way his ego would let him be beaten and his ego is his whole deal. We're talking about a dude who feels his only peers are dead kings and conquerors, after all. His ego is arguably what sparks the entire plot off and it informs his character, his dialogue, and, ultimately, his actions from top to bottom.

Snyder should not be directing JC when you get a 30%+ on a movie with Batman and Superman meeting for the first time. I'm honestly surprised DC is letting him work on it. Push it back and don't let this guy direct another movie.

Unfortunately with Suicide Squad pretty much wrapped up, Wonder Woman in production, and Justice League about to start filming, I think they're past the point of no return with halting/rebooting the DCCU

I personally thought the film was average, and yes it has it's fair share of problems. But it's nowhere near as bad as a lot of critics make it out to be (and i usually do agree with RT/Meta ratings, except for a few occasions). And for people who think that BvS is worse than Batman Forever, Batman & Robin...fuck, even The Room, Space Jam etc? It's not, don't be silly.

It wouldn't be the first time a Justice League film was halted weeks before filming, though in this case WB runs the risk of losing out on their tax breaks and having to deal with their actors' schedules if they decide to pump the brakes on JL.
But, again, they've shown the willingness to not let JL happen before this. I think once we all see the second weekend receipts we'll know what's up.

I don't think being worse than Batman Forever is entirely out of the question. Forever did have a few redeeming moments in it.
Honestly, I feel like SS is their ticket out of this mess. Everything about that movie seems to hit the right beat. It's my most anticipated movie of the year (after Deadpool oc).
