Man, 10 years ago if someone told me that a film universe containing Iron Man (who?), Captain American (who?), Thor (who?) would have been more successful and better received than one containing Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman (or the Spiderman films for that matter) I'd have called that person a mad man and yet here we are. How do you mess it up so badly.

People like to cite those crappy Transformers movies as proof that quality doesn't matter. What they don't realize is that if those Transformers movies were at least a little bit decent, they'd make even more money than they already do.

The novelty of Superman and Batman appearing together for the first time in live action will probably ensure this has a pretty decent box office take, but the movie being bad will probably cause people to be weary of future DC Expanded Universe films.
Yeah, it will mostly impact all further movies. While losing some viewers, most people will still go in to see it themselves out of curiosity or just because they don't believe in reviews. But yeah, it could screw the whole coming DCCU.

My buddy who was shitting on this movie for the longest time saw it last night and said it was "entertaining but messy" - he did add that he was going to see it again though. Asked him if better than Amazing Spiderman 2 and he said "yeah, it's not that bad."

I haven't seen BvS yet and I'm still looking forward to it but I just wrote a review for the 1966 Batman movie as it is being rereleased in France today. My editor submitted the review to the French version of Metacritic, there was a mix-up somewhere, and now I'm one of the first reviewers of BvS in France and I praise it as a fun throwback to the superheroes of old !
I'm trying to get in touch with them to change that but nobody is answering my e-mails... Oh, well.

No way is this still doing money in a month and a half. My guess now will be that it struggles to double the opening week across the rest of the run. It won't have the repeat viewings that the bigger movies get, and word of mouth - as I've already soon on my non-forum, non-comic reading Facebook friends - is going to wreck it.

I highly doubt he bullied anyone. Got lucky? Sure. Snyder is the guy that was at the right place at the right time. He has connections with Miller which probably meant he had connection with people at DC comics that probably vouched for him hard. Idk, that's my guess.
Superman Returns sequel under the direction of WB at the time would have been a Green Lantern type of disaster. WB before had no confidence in any other superhero than Batman. They had no leadership.
It's the only way I can imagine he gets so many chances. These executives trust him and he barrels through every comic-book adaptation he can get his hands on.

Warner definitely needs a guy like Kevin Feige or a team who knows what they want with the DCCU and take a bit more time to plan out the movies (script, cast, staff).
That whole DCCU movie slate they released seems to me that they were too impatient and nervous compared to Marvel so they showed off their plate without thinking clearly and giving Snyder Justice League.
