Looks fine, but of course doesn't help few really care about Falcon being Cap, he was never an interesting character in the movies.

Falcon is still just a guy right?
Yes, and I was hoping that they would touch on this by making him fight in a way that points this out, by using smart tactics with his limited amount of gadgets on opponents who are much stronger than him. However, the trailer is advertising that this is either going to be a half-step or they are going to ignore the fact that he is just a dude.

Unless this is a Spiderman trailer situation where someone is secretly next to Cap when he fights Red Hulk and they edited it out in the trailer, there should be no situation where he should reasonably take on Red Hulk solo and head-on.

I just don't get it. He's a normal dude yet he can throw the shield like the actual Cap and he landed at like Mach 1 with his wing suit thing and just stood there all fine and dandy.

Why can't he just be the falcon and not Captain America.

At the end of Avengers old Steve Rogers who time travelled could have given him the shield and said "you might want to drink this" and given him a vial of serum.

This looks hilarious.

The CGI is outrageously bad but more importantly Anthony Macky has zero gravitas or on-screen presence. I know he's just making the most of it and god bless him for trying but the dude just looks goofy with his stern face. He won't be able to carry a movie like this.

Not to mention "the falcon" as a concept for a replacement for Steve Rogers is just retarded as hell, it's just a dude with wings who now somehow has superhuman powers I guess. Fuck off.

Looks a lot better than a lot of the recent Marvel movies. The Captain America movies have overall been the best of their solo movie output so this might drag me back after a long hiatus.

Looks generally well-made, but Anthony Mackie just doesn't have it and Falcon isn't a lead character.
What's the deal with ant Mackie? As in general consensus. I think he's a decent actor and good in the stuff I've seen him in. Thought he did a good job in alteredcarbon, despite the poor direction season 2 went.

Doesn't feel like he has great screen presence though.

He's likable but doesn't have leading man energy. Especially noticeable when he was cast for season 2 of Altered Carbon. He works better as a supporting actor.

This cut at least feels like a Captain America movie. But I still not sold on Steve Rodgers being replaced as Cap.

I understand that it is canon in the comics. But I don't read Cap (nor Avengers) comics. I think it would have been better to just replace Steve through a reboot or multiverse high jinks but whatever. I'll probably still watch it in theaters.

I think he's perfect for a movie where the leading hero is out shadowed by the villain i.e. Dark Knight (and maybe DKR depending on who you ask).

He's good in a goofy semi-comedic role. Like the Burn Out show or whatever it was with the crazy clown guy. He was more than up to that role. But he has very little of the earnest Cap energy we need in this film.

Given the cast and some of the plot threads like Isaiah it could be great. The problem is the previous Cap movies had some really good drama with Bucky and Iron Man, so this is probably going to be really weak by comparison.

Man I wish William Hurt was still here to be in this, Harrison Ford just looks the same as any other character he's ever played.

Props to the editing team, I really enjoyed that trailer.

Agreed, I didn't like him in Altered Carbon (season 1 was so good) he would have been so much better as a supporting actor or maybe even a villian.

He just doesn't have the screen presence or charisma for a leading role.

The tone gives me the same feeling as previous captain America movies. I’m down. Looks like a fun ride.

As far as all you naysayers, you don’t have to stay fans. Go somewhere else if you’re over MCU. You don’t have to come to the same MCU threads and repeat yourself. It’s as old as you think the franchise is. Respect others and let them enjoy something together without your dumb asses chiming in.

Can we carve the entire Marvel, Cap and Hulk thing out of it and have just a cool spy/ techno thriller/ military fiction flick with the budget?

The MCU is in stark decline, that's just how it goes.

This one does look better than the usual post-Endgame slop. It's hurt by not having actual Cap but I might see it in the theater.

I believe they’re questioning what sense does it make for someone (not referring to you) to be “over” the MCU yet certain posters repeatedly feel compelled to pop in consistently in almost every new MCU entry trailer thread to remind everyone that they’re STILL not interested in the MCU anymore. It’s like, yeah, no shit, we figure as much from the last dozen times they said that.

I’m most likely done with Avatar (the James Cameron movies, not the cartoon series AKA actual worthwhile Avatar to me) after the first movie was okay but the second movie bored me to death, but at most I might look at the first trailer for movie 3 but if it doesn’t look genuinely promising that will be it for me. But to me, being done with something means not even looking into it anymore, I won’t be on the thread for the trailer of Avatar 4 going, “yeah, still looks boring, guys!” And if I do forget myself and do that, my bad, but I try not to be constantly throwing out negative comments about things I’m disinterested in.

Like, I forget which anime forum it was where this happened, but there was this guy who REALLY hated Gundam Seed. Every Gundam thread, whether regarding a new Seed installment, the overall franchise, or even if it was about another Gundam series that wasn’t Seed, he always consistently threw in a comment bashing Seed, and would often be dismissive of anyone praising Seed. Finally, a mod said it was getting old and to please stop being a broken record already as almost everyone know he hated Seed by this point and it was getting on people’s nerves. The poster got defensive, said they hadn’t done anything like insulting posters or anything, but the mod said essentially, “be that as it may, this is our forum to run, and you have gone from merely expressing a negative opinion to constantly reminding everyone of your dislike to the point it has become obnoxious for some, and the original series came out a long time ago and you should just move on already and stop even looking at the new Seed entries if it makes you like this rather than bothering those who are still enjoying it. Because at that point, you’re not merely disliking a series, you’re choosing to keep following it anyway seemingly purely to disagree people who do like the series, which is just immature on your part.”

To be clear, I don’t keep up with individual poster’s posting history here to know if there any consistently posting on most MCU threads in a similar manner but I would be extremely surprised if this wasn’t the case for a few posters here, nor am I overstepping my boundaries to suggest that you or any mod should do anything about it, as yes, posting like that does not violate the forum rules to my knowledge. I am merely explaining how the constant negativity from people who “aren’t interested anymore” in the MCU can be quite tiring. The way I see it, “not being interested anymore” should mean one stops even bothering looking into any new MCU entry thread, so if people still consistently feel the need to throw in a negative comment of something they supposedly lost interest in years ago, yes, that comes off as obnoxious to people who are still fans. It’s why, to use anime as an example again, in an anime forum people won’t take issue mostly with a thread/comment saying, “guys, I’m losing interest in anime, anyone feel the same?” or something like that, but people will find it annoying if a poster repeatedly goes, “ugh, anime is so lame now, I’ve been so done with it for years, why do you guys still like this stuff?” The former comes off as reasonable, the latter begs the question, “if you’re done with it, why are you still talking about it?”

I said he hated Seed, not Seed Destiny. Otherwise I’m sure that forum would have put a medal on that man.

Seriously, fuck this annoying little shit:

I’ve certainly not watched every Gundam, but of those I have, not one of the main leads in any of them come even remotely close in the achievement of being as much of a frustrating chucklefuck as Shinn Asuka. What’s funny is I hear the compilation movies for Seed Destiny change it so Athrun is the focus point character from the beginning, so even the studio realized how unlikable Shinn turned out to be.

I prefer Gundam 00 and Robotech

As for the trailer, the movie looks good but I'll wait till it comes to streaming like I do for every movie nowadays 👀

Gundam 00 is my favorite tied with 0080: War in the Pocket (the former for the characters and fights, the latter for having the most focused exploration of the “war is hell” theme in only six episodes).

Off Topic but I only watched Gundam Seed (Both of the series) and Gundam 00

I have always meant to go back to watching more of that franchise

Oh I forgot about The Witch From Mercury, I dropped that halfway

But getting back to Captain America Brave New World trailer. I liked what I saw and I hope they start going more into a certain metal in that film

He's Cap... Well one of them. Both he and Steve are Cap at the same time in the comics ... Just like Miles and Peter are both Spider-Man and Wally and Barry were both Flash until recently.

I thought Anthony Mackie was Falcon. He's Captain America now? I'm sort of out of the loop with Marvel Stuff as the last movie I watched was Dr Strange back in 2016.

So you didn't watch Endgame when Steve passed the shield and mantle to Sam?
