Captain America: Brave New World | Official Trailer

This feels like it's going to be an okay but run-of-the-mill Marvel cookie cutter. I don't think we'll get a thriller like Winter Soldier ever again from them.

The shield absorbs and diverts most of the shock of the blow. Vibranium ;).

I know what Vibranium is. Key word on "most"

Sam would simply be flown back and then crushed against the nearest wall instead of vaporized instantly. I can already see Sam "straining" to hold up the shield, implying his biceps ever made a hair of a difference in the fight.

It's not like deflecting a lot of energy on a small point like gunfire. Hulk can just swat the whole person and shield away.

Yeah I get it, vibranium will be the "excuse", I'm afraid my bare minimum is vibranium held up by super strength, I'm sorry it's just too ridiculous...lol

That's comics for you.

As if the EXACT SAME kinetic energy absorbing properties that allow it to stop a Hulk punch cold wouldn't keep the shield from being thrown (or even moved by the wearer) and bounced like a frisbee.

The shield makes no sense. So we are left with the cinematic thrill of a man standing up to a TITAN with the shield as the equalizer. Steve earned that thrill across several films. I fear they are gonna give it to Sam in his first.

Steve already had that... With Thor's Hammer. And Steve would be a red mist trying to fight Red Hulk on his own. Sam isn't fighting Red Hulk... At most, he'll be trying to avoid him and keeping him busy. Not actively fighting. I can see him tanking one hit with the shield but that's it.

You were saying ;)? Comics only?

In the fiction it absorbs and essentially dissipates the kinetic energy in a way that mostly protects the wearer…

unless they make him one in this one, he gets his butt handed to him against Red Hulk in round 1, then takes it and wins round 2 using plot convenient air superiority.

They did Hulk vs Ironman right where Ironman just basically trying to last as long as he could but was getting beat up the whole time and only won after Hulk got tired

I don't really understand why they make a super old actor the red hulk. Red hulk is hardly coming back in new movies I guess or he'll be riding a wheelchair.
Because Thunderbolt Ross is Red Hulk? Either you retcon who RedHulk is or you Retcon Thunderbolt Ross’s age but seeing as though the character has been in the MCU since the 2nd movie that would be ….a choice.

“Brave New World” sounds so dumb in the title.

The movie originally was a big X-Men introduction with Adamantium and Sabra describing how she got her mutant powers as a teenager. They had to edit out Sabra almost entirely so all the movie now is a setup for World War Hulk.

And Sony ruined the Second World War Hulk movie with demanding another multiverse Spider-Man movie. Spider-Man 4 was originally Spider-Man, Daredevil, and Punisher with Hulk as the villain. Now it’s No Way Home 2.

Isn't the original Captain America a super-human being (aka mutant)?

His enchanted strength isn’t even at Spider-man’s level, let alone THOR of all people.

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t think this moment in Avengers 1 made much sense either, but it is annoying everyone is nitpicking a “moment” Sam has (the quotations are because we are nitpicking an obviously edited image from a movie poster, which have never been evidence it will happen in the film itself, there is actual zero footage of Sam taking a hit from Red Hulk in all the actual preview footage so far) but this moment in Avengers 1, which clearly did happen, was nowhere near criticized this much.

Sam is not fighting Red Hulk. The latest preview they had this week shows him clearly keeping Red Hulk focused on him while Sam outmaneuvers him. It’s not different than Batman distracting Doomsday while Superman and Wonder Woman do the real damage to it.

I imagine they’ll find a way to calm Ross down so he can control the form (again, the previews show Ross horrified at his transformation as it’s happening, he clearly did not intend for this to happen) and then he and Sam work together to take down The Leader. Ross is not the final threat of the film, in fact the latest preview makes it quite clear he respects Sam and his work a lot even if he will disagree and get frustrated with him plenty, so even if the two don’t see eye to eye a lot, they’re not really setting up Ross as the actual villain of the film.

The posters and trailer do give the audience the idea that Sam will fight Ross.

How is this a set up for WWH when that is a banner story?

That first plot sounds........bizarre. Spider-Man would get killed by the Hulk. Daredevil probably avoids hits, but one false move and he's a stain on a wall. Punisher? Lol. What is Punisher doing fighting the Hulk?

How do you know the next Spidy film is No Way Home 2? Do we have plot leaks?

That’s an arguable definition of “fight”. We’ve seen him use his wings to slice off a thrown car. The footage from this week shows him yelling to anger Red Hulk and then flying away.

When the Batman v Superman trailer showed Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman standing together against Doomsday, did anyone believe Batman was going to actually take a punch from DOOMSDAY?

Nothing in the footage shows Sam taking a punch from Red Hulk. All this complaining from others is entirely on a total assumption.

And as I said, I can’t believe people are taking a movie poster into consideration. Those are pretty much never actual shots from the actual film.

This poster is suggesting a fight, is it not?

Batman v Superman was different. There were no posters of Batman blocking a punch from Doomsday.

Also, we all know that if he wanted to, Batman could tank Doomsday. Batman beats anyone with prep time. Anyone.

Batman flat out admits in Batman: Hush that A) he still has to rely on luck to beat Superman, all the prep time in the world and he still has to rely on some luck to win, and B) that the only reason he can win is because even Poison I y’s mind control can’t force Superman to take a life, but if Superman was willing to kill him, then Batman admits there’s nothing he could do to stop Superman from obliterating him

Hell, he doesn’t even solo him in Dark Knight Returns. He had to call in Green Arrow for assistance. Even in Hush, he needed Catwoman’s help as well.

Also, Reverse Flash kicked his ass hard.

Funny what happens when writers actually write BatMAN, instead of Mary Sue BatGOD.

Hard disagree. Batman would thrash anyone in fiction with prep time.

Sets up two more MCU Hulks with The Leader manipulating everything. Ross is Red Hulk and Amadeus Cho is in it two. That makes 5 Hulks in the MCU. The Podcast kid from Ghostbusters is playing Amadeus Cho.

-but if there’s zero FOOTAGE of it, then no one has proof it’s in the movie. Yet people are talking like it’s already a proven fact.

No. He took a super soldier serum that puts him at peak human (Olympic Level Athletic physical fitness). He's not superhuman. Except in the MCU... He's a bit stronger than Olympic athletes who can bench 1000lbs.

Steve would get his butt handed to him too. He isn't anywhere near Hulk's range.

Sam is just keeping Red Hulk busy... The Leader is the real villain.

I'm gonna guess that we see Sam do the same "shield up" move as Steve vs Thor in the gif just posted against a full strength Hulk punch, probably rock Red Hulk with a few shield throws, hit him 2-3 times with his wings and drones, and use the shield to "deflect and absorb" at least 3 lighter punches/swings.

Unless there is some other big brute in the film for Red Hulk to smash, it's gonna be Sam doing the fight. No way he is just gonna flutter like a bumblebee around Red Hulk.

where is Bruce Bannner in all this? and She-hulk is suppose to be around (though she would of course get destroyed just as much as Sam)
Doesn't the government still have The Abomination in custody again?

I don’t think they’re necessarily in the U.S. when Ross’ transformation occurs, based on the cherry blossoms.

Also, She-Hulk is FAR stronger than Sam or Steve for that matter. Even if Ross managed to win, it would not be an easy fight for him.
