Looks amazing. I need to beat Crysis 2. I'll run through it when my IB gets here..

Next gen consoles need to arive ASAP.

I sometimes wish they would have held off till the next round of consoles, if they are set to release next year.

I'd be down for a Crysis Trilogy remastered collection for next gen. That would probably look fantastic.

they did say cryengine 3 was next gen ready. So yeah who knows maybe they need like 5 months or so to port it to next gen.

Controlling the batarangs in Arkham City or following a sniper bullet to an enemy in the Sniper Elite V2 demo was awesome i hope Crytek lets us follow those arrows to their end destinations.

Finally.

$10 says their 'something new' is supersampling/ubserampling, ala TW2.

I was missing the extra blur option in the list ;)

Bow looks cool, setting changed enough so ok. I just hope they deliver on the bigger sandbox and remove, or at least give me an option, all the handholding, was just to much and in your face in C2.

Which would suck as "ubersampling" hardly looks better than FXAA and destroys the framerate. Proper SSAA blows aways the "ubersampling" option in The Witcher 2.

Eh, I don't see it. Ubersampling looks tenfold better than even the best FXAA I've used, and I think it looks delightful in TW2.

But I did say supersampling as well, so ideally C3 will support it. Not that I'll be able to run it.

Man, you're going to have to show me some shots. I've been playing EE lately and find it very disappointing.

I'm really hoping that Ryse really is going next gen and they're actually working on it. Rolling back engine changes and improvements from that into Crysis 3 PC would be pretty cool.

Wait wut? Ubersampling is SSAA... render the game at whatever your INI setting has it. If your ubersampling is set to 2, then it applies 2x2 then downscales it to your resolution, which is why 1 does nothing as it's your native resolution.

they probably still will. gotta save that dvd disc space.

I'm torn between Pre-rendered and real time in this one. Compression is horrible, but I don't think i'll like the fps to go to single digits like they did for me The first time I saw the final cut-scene in Crysis, it was so anticlimactic.

OMG! I love Crytek!
Its even more than i wished for.

You could be right, it can be something similar to TXAA with some supersampling like 1.3x or 1.5x or even something dynamic, like baseline will have 1.5x SSAA and when demand increases it automatically scales to smaller SSAA till native resolution.

I'd be in the dick
T2x is a mode of SMAA. You can find a video of it used in Crysis 2 here.

Can't wait to see some TXAA in action.

Oh cool, I hadn't seen that before. If they can give the console versions a resolution boost and are using a different AA method the IQ should be a ton better. Do we know if T2x needs more or less processing power than the method they used in Crysis 2?

no it wasnt
It really bothers me, just one of those things I'm really sensitive to. I'm very sensitive to shifts in motion resolution so I think that may be part of why I see it more than others. It may be more of an issue on PS3 than other platforms but combined with the lower resolution it made some things pretty tough to see and was distracting in cutscenes. Crysis 1 on consoles didn't have it as bad but it was still there occasionally. According to that video, Crysis 3's AA method shouldn't have it at all so all's well.

I wouldn't hold my breath for a resolution boost, on top of other improvements...

i dont see the fixation some people have with 720p anyway, none of us are playing on a 720p display, so it's all getting upscaled.

it's not like we're talking about native res of our displays vs below native res here, like people act. if you demand 720P why not demand 760p next, or 900p, or some other arbitrary sub 1080 number? granted, the more the better, it's the magical faux dividing line that bugs me.

i guess it would bother me more on ps3, since that one is a bit more egregious.

The reason I want it more on PS3 is because of the stretched HUD. Having an oval for my shotgun crosshair was really annoying. I doubt with everything going on effects wise they'll hit 720p but at least getting it up to the 360's res would be really nice. More than anything though, I want a smooth 30fps. I would gladly take that over a res boost.

I think you are slighly confused maybe im wrong.
But i somehow remember they said they just rendered the frame multiple times and then sample from all those frames and average the pixel color.

yup..shit is going to be a graphical showpiece

this is what crysis 2 should have been..but you know the whole first time on consoles etc etc.
many will upgrade their pc's for crysis 3 and that's a good thing for pc hardware industry :p.

I think it's also going to be a lot better on consoles than 2 was as well. They've got more experience with them, they've optimized CE3 more, and they usedthe Crysis port as an experiement for what to work on. Here's hoping it payed off.
