Got super liked on Tinder this morning.

Now normally when I do let's just say the girls are normally either on the bigger side or I don't find them attractive at all. So I wasn't expecting too much when swiping through, but Jesus Christ I was proven wrong this time.

Checked her bio, '200 miles away', god damn it. Continued reading it and it mentioned she was visiting my city next week so I thought what the hell and swiped right. She soon messages message me, I mention the super like and she says it was because she wanted to make sure I came across her profile. We continue talking, exchange numbers, I mention if she wants help filling in time when she's in my city she knows where I am. She replies with a nude saying "You can fill in anywhere you want".

Yeah, and I knew it going in. She likes to go to clubs, bars, dance, that kind of stuff. I... don't. I went along in the beginning (always refused to dance because I just don't like it) but the different lifestyles clashed. Plus, I don't drink alcohol and that shit is expensive. She always wanted to travel, which is fine, many people do. But I really don't want to travel frequently, at least not right now. I simply don't want to spend the money to be honest. We did go on a nice little trip to Florida, went to Disney World, Universal, but for me, that's it for a while. I socialize with a close group of friends and family. I'm not awkward or anything and socialize as needed out in the world but I just don't engage random people or attend random social functions or events. It's just not me.

I knew my limits were being pushed New Years Eve, 2016. She wanted to go to a rooftop party in Manhattan. I reluctantly agreed. First of all, I had to dress up so already I wasn't happy. Then we had to stand in line outside the building forever and it was cold. I hate the cold. We finally get in and it was literally wall-to-wall people just drunkenly dancing to horrible music. When I say wall-to-wall I mean I seriously could not move, shoulder-to-shoulder people. And somebody accidentally spilled their drink on me. The fire department arrived as soon as we left because the party exceeded the people limit or something. After we left, even she agreed it was awful. For me, this was just an entire waste of time and money. We weren't even there for that long. Horrible.

Wait, do they actually tell you when you're on your last warning lol? Moderation on gaf is really inconsistent and all over the place tbh so once you get banned a few times, time to chill. I got a few bans for being a cunt as well, though two (the last in particular) were basically a mod getting angry and just abusing the power so you just gotta hold that L ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I don't get the fault post on the link, too early in the morning :S

I used to be very extroverted and partied my ass off. I was always on the go and had tons of friends. I also traveled constantly.

But now, as I get older, I'm more and more like you. I only have a close group of friends and I don't drink anymore. I also don't really enjoy loud parties and prefer intimate get-togethers only with friends and family. I also prefer to save my money and travel rather infrequently. I love my routine and prefer to stay active with healthy activities throughout the day rather than go out and rage at night.

Don't think you need to become more extroverted. It's exciting to date someone who is hot and parties a lot, but in the end, having a ton of friends and going on trips really isn't the most important thing in the world. Excitement, itself, is overrated and shouldn't be the thing that you seek out as a basis for a long lasting or meaningful relationship.

Some people need to feel constantly on the go and desire constant stimulation. Extroverts as you say. But generally speaking, that can get old and expensive. And it can only hold your attention for so long.

That reason alone is one of the things we would frequently argue about. I'm only 27 and I don't want to spend money on things that I have nothing to show for. I don't mind travelling every now and then but I'm not a "see the world" person. I know a lot of people are but I just can't do that.

I go to work during the week and spend time with friends on weekends. I prefer to be more productive with my free time. I have a degree in graphic design and like to create shit. My friends and I play games all the time so we eventually decided to create a website and channel dedicated to gaming. The best part about it is it lets us combine our passions and I, personally, love it. She was basically the complete opposite in terms of interests, more of a people person. Although she did like playing games here and there. I think the important thing about my relationship with her is that let me explore "going out" lifestyle and it really solidified how it's just not for me.

I love partying, clubs and stuff. It just is less feasible with all my good friends hating it. Sucks. I like chilling and low key stuff as well but man, sometimes being drunk as fuck in a loud as club is necessary haha

I go on a date at 730 and we dont stop talking until 1145 and i have to wake up at 530 for work.

Watched two amazingly bad horror movies with the Instagram girl last night, but we had fun dissing them and the other one was so bad we just decided to make out instead.

It was American Poltergeist.

She has some stuff booked for the weekend but we'll see either sunday or monday again.

Rich girl is as available as Nintendo mini consoles, she's always busy, but we're seeing next week again I guess.

Anyway... this weekend the GF and I are staying at an inn upstate and doing some hiking/kayaking too. We haven't traveled together overnight before, but it will be nice to get out of the city. I always get a little anxious when traveling with someone. I'm usually into solo trips if I do need to get away.

I'm a little nervous because she took care of most of the logistics. Last time we took a train together for a day-trip... she handled the logistics and we got lost (-_-)....

Wish us luck, GAF. I hope this goes well.

I guess I can understand this, but surely it was nice to get out of your 'bubble' and do things you might not otherwise have done? From personal experience, I've done a shit load of stuff with my wife that I wouldn't have done otherwise. I found it helped to me grow and become a more rounded and accepting individual.

Again, I do understand the desire to not want to go out and hating crowded places (the drinks thing has happened to me before and I ended up sulking because of it, yeah I sulked. Fuck you, try spending five hours in a sticky shirt). It can be difficult to find the right balance sometimes.

Setting boundaries early and sticking to them has worked for me. My wife knows what I'll be interested in and what I won't be and she invites me accordingly. Although sometimes she won't invite me to things she knows I'll like because she's an ass. A cute ass, but an ass nonetheless.

She'll never see this, so I'm in the clear to say that...

I guess it was okay getting out of my bubble but can't help but feel it was just a waste of time and money. I never was into the scene and now that I've been exposed to it, I'm still not. Like I never have he urge to go to a bar, or club, or random house party, to just drink and socialize. But people like to do this and I accept that. I'm glad she enjoyed herself but in the end our lifestyles just clashed.

On the other hand I do enjoy going out to do specific things. A walk on a nice day is cool, movies, dinner, hiking, exploring cities, checking out new food spots, things like that.

Broke up with my girl of 6 and half years just over 2 months ago.

Daily basis I'm doing alright but I do get low sometimes.

Tinder's boring, been on a couple of dates, had a couple of girls back. It's all very strange when you've been out of it for so long.

Give it time. 6 years is long as hell. I wouldn't worry too much. Feeling like shit is normal in your situation. Just don't get down on yourself if you do happen to feel shitty every now and then. We all have rough times in our lives and remembering that many other people have gone through similar shit can be helpful.

Yeep. I felt like that for a long time after I broke up with the last long term GF, its been a little over a year. Soon enough another one will come along. At least for me I feel beat up over my more recent ex of only like 6 months and its not the long term GF that I think about anymore. Just waiting for the next one again.

The worst bit is knowing there's nothing to speed up the process (which is also slightly comforting, as I know I'm not doing anything wrong).

Aside from a few 'business' interactions to swap a few things over, we've not really spoken. I've seen her once in 60 days. That was quite nice, we managed to keep the conversation pleasant and light. The number of daily reminders when I'd like to send a text to start a chat and knowing I can't, that's a bit of a killer.

I'll be alright eventually...

Yeah man I hear that. Going out and getting laid has worked for me in the past but it hasnt worked for me recently. Its fun but it doesnt do jack shit to fix the emotions. Confidence boost maybe but not much more. And holy shit I feel ya about the sending of text messages. Me and my recent ex are having issues with that. 2 weeks ago we were never going to speak again and the last 2 days we have net up for walks and ice cream and are talking again. I know I am being an idiot and setting myself up for more hurt but I cant help myself. I am weak.

Going out, getting laid, having dates. Nothing worked for me to get my mind out of the gutter. Its just time man. Dont do what I am doing. I am torturing myself keeping in contact with her.

I'd surround myself with my friends and shit but almost all of them are in long term serious relationships and it doesnt help hanging out with them.

Trying to meet new people is my next goal. See if that helps. And since I cant stay away from my ex and she cant seem to stay away from me for too long either.... I guess we will try the friend thing out. This is going to go horribly.
