I got the plat in this a couple weeks ago on my Pro. It looks and plays well, doesn’t need a remaster.

I'm honestly flummoxed on why we're getting so many fucking remasters of shit that is not only already HD/60fps but fucking already runs (and sometimes boosted) on PS5.

Like, how about you remaster fucking God of War II? Or Infamous? Or the Killzone Trilogy? SOCOM I & II remake?

No? Just more zombie games from last gen? Fuck me Sony why do you hate your good IPs?

• "Studio X is busy."
  • Doesn't matter. We're talking about resolution or FPS enhancements, not doing complete remastering of a game. That's something that can be handled by a tiny team at a support studio.
• "Studio X no longer exists or isn't with Sony."
  • Doesn't matter as long as the source code is available and is owned by Sony.
  • Specifically for SOTC, the PS4 remake runs at 1080p60 in its performance mode, while fidelity is something like 1440p30. Jailbroken PS5s can run it at 1440p60 using a patch, so it's not a power issue.
• "Game X didn't sell."
  • I do not care. Again, we're not talking about major ground up remasters here.

So your points boil down to essentially, I don't care about reality, I just want what I want and logically there is no feasibility behind the works you proposed.

Runs at 1440p resolution and reach 4k via checkerboard rendering, a patch unlocked the frame rate on PS5.

Can't say if this remaster will do this game any favors. Put a 'quality mode' for people to go back to 30 fps?

Is very confusing. And I'm guessing the performance mode will likely runs at 1440p60 as well, maybe reach 4k via FSR on base PS5 and PSSR on PS5pro.

At moment Sony did a terrible job showing any significant upgrade. IMO will be the same situation as TLOUSpart2, a minor to nothing of update to justify the remaster.

Correct. PS4 Pro version had 2160p via checkerboard rendering. PS5 took that version and uncapped it to 60hz limit, which it seems to stick to pretty well.

Does it state this somewhere? That’s some bullshit if true…..not that I’m planning on playing this anyway. Platinumed the original so I’m more than satisfied with this dire, grim world. It was a good time but absolutely average game with some cool crowd mechanics which was the original “sell” of the game.

Edit: I see their bullshit small print now. They can fuck off with that lol, how can I buy the game on sale now when I “own” the game already? Sonys upgrade system on these particular titles is utterly fucked. You’re basically stuck in Limbo for something they gave to you and you’re now being punished for if you want to upgrade? Makes zero sense.
