Our eyes don't work like camera and effects so always turn that crap off.
it's a low-fi effect where the edges of things or specific colors, in specific parts of the image, break out in several colors.I know a lot of people hate it but I'm not even sure what it is exactly.

I like it.Hahahaha, i don't know about you but when i think about victorian era (inspiration for art) chromatic aberration is not something that comes to my mind. Only thing it does in BB is ruining IQ (that is already aliased enough).
Red and blue outline on everything shifted 1 or more pixels off the edge to give a 3D effect. I hate it cause I know when I see it.Still don't know what it is. The wiki didn't help. I've turned it off and on in games without really know what it does. Usually just turn it off.
Threadi turn that shit off, same thing with motion blur.
Film grain looked good in last of us part 2, without it the game doesn't look as great on the base PS4, but this is probably subjective.Film grain is the dumbest shit ever in games.
I'll use DOF sometimes, if it's a sloppy third person game.
I feel the same way(and in regards to film grain too). Theoretically, when done right it can enhance a game artistically, making you almost feel like you're looking at a movie.Depends on the game. A lot people sound like they get aneurysm for watching it.
Listen to this devsThe first things I do when I fire up a game:
Turn off chromatic aberration.
Turn off depth of field.
Turn off motion blur.
Turn off film grain.
Turn on performance mode.
Increase field of view.
Turn off any joystick acceleration.
i think these effects would work except our tvs as is dont have perfect image motion and processsing so it just makes the picture look badi turn that shit off, same thing with motion blur.
