Sten is a bad example for you to use. A large part of his entire character arc in origins was him learning to accept other cultures, norms, and values, because he was too hardened and distant as a character when you first met him.

Use the Arishok from DA 2 instead. He stayed on a singular purpose in that game and never swayed.

Perhaps. DA2 Arishok is ultimately stuck in his ways and has a different task and has never known dishonor. And at best you only get his respect. The Sten in Origins was sent to discover the Blight and what it was and as a result met the Warden and learned about a great many cultures. And being young and impressionable his world view can be changed or influenced to some degree.

Arishok was stuck in Kirkwall among Nobles which all left bad impressions on the Arishok. Very different outcome from Sten.

Given that DA2's Arishok is deeply rooted in Qunari philosophy and traditions I don't see Taash receiving the Arishok's respect. While Sten has a perspective of all people playing the roles they were given and that they couldn't possibly change(he learns that they can), Arishok would just find many to be unworthy.

Sten and Arishok are both IMO well written characters. Taash here as a Qunari representative makes for a poor showing of the iconic race. And given the writing on display I doubt it'll get much better.

These parasites really managed to invade our hobby. I know this isn't really news but for some reason this scene in this game hit the chord for me and made me realize how bad it really is.
