I've spoiler tagged it but how so? That'd make it rather hard to discuss anything if you can't say "I heart character x" or some crap.
!
I wasn't being serious. I guess more people need to watch the current season of Dr.Who to get the reference. Ah well.

TGWOK Ep 4

Seeing Keima doing what he does best is funny since he's so dedicated.

Plus i can hear the possible cries of the "Jun Fukuyama should be Keima's VO" crowd with the scene he did in this ep :lol

Infinite Ryvius 23 :

Heigar, I am disappointed in you actions. Your support an assistance has been invaluable to the ship as a whole, but with the power places in your hands you've let it all go dangerously out of control. Whoops, you're no Oberstien.

This is pretty much how I pictured Kouji would use a weapon. Very badly.

Infinite Ryvius 24 :

Oh, I see Kouji's role now. KOUJI GOT SHOT FOR YOUR SINS! He's moved closer to Chirsthood with each passing moment.

Ikumi's crossed the line so badly that even Yuki has shut up. That's a real accomplishment.

Oh, and we see more about how crazy Fania is. She be crazy, yo. Kouji should have used his gun to put her down and out, before she sends another hitman after his girl.

It was nice of Airs to sort out those guys trying to get into the medical wing.

Maybe the Ryvius' onboard alien-star creature really has affected everyone aboard. Maybe it made Yuki a super-super douche, Ikumi crazy-crazy protective, Lucson a supreme fool, Kouji super-normal etc. Although for that reading to work we'd have see everyone in a similar situation but not on board the Ryvius.

A more reasonable explanation is that everyone's snapped because of the ordeal.

Oh, and fuck you Goro Taniguchi for going onto Code Geass after this and Planetes. You used to be a bro'

Ghost Hound 2 : Did I mention this show has fantastic sound design? Because it does.

It's also slightly odd that a huge amount of the first episode was near-silent visuals, and here we get a giant info dump of exposition. I don't really mind, it's just a strange contrast.

His true something, that's for certain.

Kuragehime 2 : It's not a good thing to know all the Romance of The Three Kingdom's References.

Yeah, I'm not sure what Heigar's eventual plan was... let them die? It doesn't seem like he thought about how Ikumi would respond to that.

I think one of the messages of the show is that all of these people already had serious issues prior to the show. It just took extreme events to manifest all of their problems.

The sound design was easily the best thing about the show.

It's odd on a number of fronts. Separating them because they are inefficient, I get. But that just means the rest of the crew would have to do more work, creating another bottom 10%.

Alternatively they die, but that also puts strain on the crew and will cause serious repercussions with Ikumi, Yuki and all the other passengers of the Ryvius.

It's hard to tell when he's climaxing every-time Ikumi opens his mouth.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And I realise I didn't really explain what I thought about Yozakura Quartet 1.

Firstly, it's very pretty. Great animation, acceptable character designs, even well-drawn vehicles.

Still, it didn't really have any interesting storytelling.

Brief opening that cryptically hints at later plot -> Cute scene with light character development -> Cute scene with light character development -> Cute scene with light/no character development (Being a boy, and cute liking things don't count) -> Cool fight scene with bondage fetish -> You think it's all over -> Plot/Fight!

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

And a light discussion of that whole Madhouse vs. Others DVD sales thing : http://subatomicbrainfreeze.typepad.com/subatomic_brainfreeze/2009/08/bakemonogatari-is-about-words.html

Well the inefficiency thing kind of went out when he started changing people's scores based on petty reasons.

I can only assume it makes more sense if you've read the manga. Still, I'd probably watch the second episode... when it airs in February.

Based on the title of that new original Shaft project (Mahō Shōjo Madoka Magika) it's going to be a magical girl show :lol

Also it has Kajiura doing the music.

So much stuff happened in Shiki 13 that it's almost like it's a different show.

If they really are using the Sunrise formula, then the 'introductions' are finally over.

Ryvius is my favorite anime series of all-time and I adored Planetes.
Have purchased both multiple times.

And yet I have only experienced the first episode of Code Geass?
Am I committing a crime by not seeking this out post-haste?

Code Geass is awesome. Haters gonna (criticize its many shortcomings) hate. But it's really entertaining stuff, especially the first season. JIBUN WOOOOO

I wonder how much of that was fabrication.

Screw the haters. Code Geass has some legit crowning moment of awesome moments.

You should watch it at the very least to know what the heck everyone is talking about.

On character (not mecha) design and animation alone, Code Geass stands head and shoulders above all the random crap DEEN, A1 and JC Staff produce.

That has nothing to do with a show being good.

Its got great animation and design and a serviceable story that never took itself seriously (I mean, I hope to god it didn't).

If you're watching it and looking Char's Counterattack or something then yeah, you'd be disappointed. But it was a fun romp with some memorable characters. Could it have been done better? Oh god yes, but it doesn't detract from the fact that I had a great time watching it.

One day I realized that sadness is just another word for not enough coffee.
It was funny because it took itself seriously.

Kiki Dub = Superior to sub so long as it has the fixed ending dub.

I totally forgot about that.

Yeah, imagine if G Gundam were slightly more grounded in reality and it took itself completely seriously instead of reveling in its cheese. That's Code Geass in a nutshell.

Ahh, Code Geass. I took it seriously initially. Then R2 finally came around, and I grew more and more disappoint with it eventually. But I'd be lying if I said it wasn't a hell of a ride

Also, Kiki's Delivery Service has a great dub. Enjoyed it when I first caught it randomly on the Disney Channel.

Kiki's dub is fantastic except that the casting for Jiji is just so incredibly wrong.

Dresden said:
It was probably the worst season out of the three seasons.

I dunno, its second half is good enough that even with the terrible beginning it just barely edges out StrikerS.

Code Geass talk? Season One was OMGWTF awesome. Scene of that season in my eyes was either Lelouch
pimp slapping Cornelia and almost taking her hostage when all of a sudden CYBERNETIC LOYALTY pops out of the ground in his orange mech
or the scene when
Lelouch had the entire Eleven colony capsize in on itself while he laughed his ass off inside his Nightmare frame. The use of the musical number that kicked in as the carnage unfolded was amazing.

Season Two (R2) was OMGWTFLOL awesome. I'm glad I watched it when I did though, the fandom easily made it one of my favorite anime experiences in the past decade. If I had to watch it fresh after that though, I'd probably have a vitriolic WTF session starting around the
Chinese/Oriental emperor arc
in R2. Shit just totally lost coherency there. And don't get me started on how the
Knights of Round got the shit trolled out of them. "Kuturugi Suzak--!" indeed. :lol

Finally,
FUCK YOU ROLO, NO YOU NEVER WERE LELOUCH'S BROTHER YOU PLOT FUCKING BITCH AHHHH :lol :lol

I admit, I was one of the fans who got Rolowned.
