I just saw the highlights of the Liverpool game. Kuyt said "this shows we can compete with the best" LOL! You beat a club seeking promotion.

Ugh, our defending looks even worse a second time on Match of the Day 2. There was no shape at all, the players just lost the plot. Arsenal had people running through us like we weren't there. Parker may have been sent off but he put a shift in, however thankless. The rest of the team need to take a good look at their performances and admit that they weren't good enough for a team that wants to be at the top table. We let Tomas fucking Rosicky score against us for god's sake.

What is worse is that Walcott scored not one but two goals. TWO GOALS.

Oh you're right. Best league in the world.

You sound jelly bro.

Jelly of a currently shitty football club struggling to finish in the top 4? Ha! I'm jelly that Barcelona is 10 points behind a great Madrid team firing on all cylinders.

Fake Ronaldo supporter. Gotcha. Will ignore your comments from now on.

Fair play to Liverpool. I said they'd bottle it and they almost did.

Celebration is highly warranted, though.

At the beginning of the match, I was wondering which Liverpool team was going to show up. Played well at the beginning until Cardiff scored, then we started play sloppy and giving the ball away too easily. I think Suarez must have given the ball away at least 4 or 5 times. Then again we had our chances that we just didn't finish off properly. By second half the game should have been won already due to the miss chances. I'm not taking anything from Cardiff because I believe they played a hell of a game. When Kuyt scored the 2nd goal, we just decided to sit back and defend instead of attacking them which I believe lead to their 2nd goal.

I'm happy they won, but at the same time I am a bit disappointed with their performance. Some of them could have been nervous but I think they still could have done better. It's just amazing seeing all the hate that the win generated in here.

And damn Adam with his Hollywood penalty. Ugh

I love the bitter tears in this thread. No one's arguing that in terms of trophies that the League Cup isn't the least important trophy (after Community Shield, obvious) but it's still our first silverware in 6 years. All these comments coming out from opposition fans are so hypocritical considering they would be celebrating just as much as we are. But rather than put their hands up and say congrats, some people on this place (as usual) uses it as an opportunity to slate the club.

Same shit.

I agree that the "you gotta start somewhere" saying goes well here. But I think Liverpool too big and prestigious a club to be this elated about beating a second division team in penalties. I guess I'm torn. One one hand, they won some silverware, on the other they should be fighting for the Champions Cup. I think Dalgish is a mediocre manager with media relations being his only strength. He will only take them so far.

Christ. If you beat a second tier team in a final, you should keep celebrations to a minimum? Then people like you will enter the thread and say a lack of celebrations disrespects the Cardiff side.

When will people learn that in a cup final both form and league position have almost no bearing on how the game will play out?

It's a little bit ridiculous to remind people how Cardiff are a championship side when we witness every season these ''lower league teams'' out perform and out fight their supposed superiors.

Also calling Liverpool a shitty club only goes to show a complete lack of football knowledge.

Barcelona supporter jelly that Madrid will take the league this year. Wow, so in this thread you get ignored for liking certain clubs/teams?

The thread is a very fair one. Post bullshit - Get called out.

Happened to all of us.

Thats not because the small sides magically start performing better.
Thats mainly because of the bigger clubs dont give any importance to the cup and field weakened sides in majority of the game. Its only when they get to latter stages in the cup when they start fielding decent sides.

Tottenham defender Kyle Walker withdraws from England squad to play Netherlands on Wednesday #thfc

C'est dommage.

I don't see any indication of what's wrong with him, or how bad it might be. Wazza is giving it a miss, too.

He turned his ankle in training on Friday and was in a protective boot. He recovered for the derby but took a knock to the same ankle during the game and struggled to the final whistle.

A Liverpool fan was stabbed to death in North London the day before the final :/

Police are saying its not football related, although the man did travel to see the game.

Someone I know tried to be a smart-ass by saying that with Liverpool fans coming over to London, people need to safeguard their cars and belongings. I just posted this on his page and said instead of thieves you guys are just full of killers.

You really took the high ground on him eh?

Considering he thinks London is the best city in the world and that there is nothing wrong with it. My point was not to post shit on my wall while wearing his tinted glasses. And I'm serious when I say he thinks London is the best city in the world, mind you that this guy doesn't travel much.

'Tis city life I suppose. Shit does quite inevitably happen.

So did Doctor Johnson. And at a time when London had quite a lot more wrong with it than it does at present.

Vincent Kompany ‏ @VincentKompany
Pressure is a creation of you're own mind. If you think about it, pressure doesn't exist.

Oh god. Philosophy. THEY'RE CRACKING UP.

Are you telling me London was worse than what it is now? Serious question. I've been living here since 2005.

Less sanitary, less safe, fewer amenities, a paucity of what I would regard as interesting entertainment (allow here for subjectivity), the very real possibility of starvation, fiendishly horrid prisons, crap distribution across social classes of adequate medical treatment, mercurial enforcement of a legal system only haltingly becoming or being made comprehensible.

You could argue that London is afflicted by similar problems now, but Johnson's London was pretty beastly.

Hoping for some kind of movement on the Pogba issue this week. Hate it dragging on.

Errr, in London things cost more. If you want to live in a nice area in London it will cost you far more than any other city in the UK. London is also a bigger metropolitan area, so you will have a larger number of shitholes by size, not %.

For a footballer it is no contest where they'd rather be. No contest.

Not sure, our game with QPR is also gonna be postponed for the FA CUP, and whoever Everton were meant to play will also get rescheduled. My guess is it will be midweek sometime.

I hate midweek matches, we rarely win. Also, the match gaainst Arsenal on the 17th is postpones because of our FA cup schedule.

Looking forward to the U21 game against Belgium. Hopefully josh features. Think our Belgium youth players are in the senior squad though.

Welbeck might profit from Wazza's absence.

And who knows, he might rediscover his finishing.

Should've had 3 on Sunday. Was very disappointed in his finishing. Too tentative. The boy's got the technique to be an excellent finisher but you feel his mental composure isn't quite there. Should be more aggressive.

Agreed, sometimes he looks like hes got a lack of concentration. Still love him though and I believe he can and will improve.
