I don't know what would keep him in the job :/ Unless we have an insane run and come fifth narrowly or win the Europa League (thus getting a champions league place), I don't know how Rodgers will not be sacked considering how Kenny faired.

Our squad is extremely promising if we can replace Gerrard and Skrtel.
I think a big thing in his favour is how good he is with young players, and in general as a man-manager. There's few better at developing younglings. We have the fourth youngest squad in the league and we'll be getting rid of Gerrard, Johnson, Toure, hopefully Skrtel.
We could be playing the long game, but with CL money increasing next season, that's a big mark against Rodgers. We just have to hope The Arsenal collapse and that Daniel comes back soon and stays fit

I don't have a problem with signing somebody of that age, in fact I think we need somebody of that age and experience.

But paying that much for them isn't a good idea.

Yes we're rich and we just spend a shitload this summer...but you have to retain some semblance of business sense.

Martin Ødegaard is currently in Madrid with view to finalising a deal with Real, according to (well-informed) @mortenstokstad

They never learn.

£30m for a proven Premier League striker is probably about right in the current market. Top scorer in the league for 2014.

Welcome

It is actually astounding lol.

Like.... How many young talents have to go there and be sacrificed until the next one learns lol.

It really is sensational.

I think Viva is right when he says need to look at the age profile of our squad. It's younger than it was last season, but right now we have lots of players at their peak years, or at least coming into them. Then we have a smattering of much younger players who are years off being at their very best. Don't want to overload the squad with players on massive wages who'll be on the downturn in 3 years time. But at the same time we lack experience at the back. 28-30 year old is exactly what we need.

omg City are actually signing Bony for £30 million

Fucking hell

Holistically crackers

£25m + add-ons according to DM and The Guardian. Either way, £30m is a fair price for a just 26 year old who scored the most goals in the PL in 2014. Liverpool should have bought him this summer when they had a chance.

Pretty surprising but good for him. I wonder if he'll play at Castilla for a few years or go out on loan to a different Adelante team? Can't imagine he's ready for a top flight league in bigger countries.

Coventry City, unfortunately.

Wear the badge with pride. Don't let these premfaces get you down. Think about the elephant, pheonix, eagle and the castle. They wouldn't use the word unfortunately. We shall rise again.

The Coventry Telegraph are linking us with the return of Kirkland, can't see it myself though.

He doesn't fit our profile. Just like Lambert and Balotelli don't.

He's a brute. Seen him in the flesh. Nowt special at all.

Im sorry but I cant be hyped for a spanish league game...

Problem is I don't think anyone exists that can fit in immediately and be a leader and a mentor that we can get for cheap.

City are buying Bony for 30m, Mangala for 32m (or was the final figure 40m?). Gotta stay competitive, get Godin for 30m if we can I say.

We need someone other than Evans/Jones/Smalling that McNair can learn something from.

Had to take my grandma to physical therapy and generally take care of her today (fucking nurse hasn't shown up all week), what did I miss from Juve - Inter?

Would definitely take Kirkland back but it wouldn't be my priority if Allsop re-signs as he's been one of our best players since Burge got sent off. Personally think we're in desperate need of a decent centre mid as Fleck is massive off form, Barton is Fleck 2.0, Thomas is light-weight and doesn't seem to know what to do with the ball at his feet, Finch doesn't have an attacking bone in his body and is incredibly clumsy and Billy Daniels was last seen in August, they'll have his picture on street lamps soon. Could also do with another striker if Madine and Nouble can't be convinced to stay permenantly as Tudgay and Jackson isn't going to cut it.

I do watch the league but I dont get hyped seriously, not even for the "El Classico"

A.Madrid last year were great and I enjoyed watching them

To be honest, I only watch R.Madrid just for Benzema. #OnlyGodCanJudgeMe

Well, he is better than Ronaldo and Messi so I don't blame you.

Godin would be a solution, yes. Not sure if he's as good a solution as everyone might think but of course he'd be way better than what we have if we could pull it off.

But it can't be the only possible option out there. It's an obvious one that anybody could point out. I don't know what else is out there but that's the job for the scouts and Van Gaal.

I'd imagine he'll have a couple of years at Castilla before being loaned to a lower-table La Liga side. I'd have thought a move to Holland, Germany or even England would've been a sounder move.

Think any signing we make this window will just be a #prospect.

We'll got HAM again in the summer though.

I've only been to a couple of games this season. Hopefully some promising youngsters can be put into the team and we strike lucky and get another Wilson.

Someone should sign Winston Reid.

FortuneFaded get onto it.

We're not made of money.

I'm not really a fan of any teams or countries, I grew to like a couple during the world cup, but I can't watch some of them because of where they play.

It's been about 6 months since I watched em, was wondering if I could get an update from an awesome m8. I liked their style of play, plus most of them are hotter than the sun

Cuadrado from the country of drugs
Kone from the country where everyone is lazy
Darmian and Marchisio from the country where everyone is corrupt
Rodriguez from Helvetica
Valbuena and Griezmann from the country where everyone is treated equal and it is a paradise.
Hajrovic from the country of....I have no idea whats there, Mountains?
Hummels from the country where everyone is a fascist
Coentrao from the country where everyone only eats sardines
Witsel from the country of waffles.

I didn't list anyone from England or USA because they all suck, other than that cutie Sterling but I haven't seen him play in a while

George Thomas looked decent against Exeter in the Johnstone's Paint Trophy, would like to see him given a shot. Ivor Lawton's been talked up a lot too, he was in my year at school and went to the one down the road. A few lads I know are mates with him.
