I think Islam does need a reform and I certainly dont think it's stupid to suggest it. You say it's a cultural issue when Islam itself is so deeply integrated into the muslim way of life. I don't see Islam and culture being different in the muslim world, I see them as one entity.

Stop. This is silly and if you educated yourself on it you would realize how silly this is.

Well, that sound REALLY stupid, sorry.

Is there a Catholic way of life? I certainly hope not.

Catholic way of life is the best.

In my politics lecture once, the professor talked about the catholic work ethos, which was to earn enough money to just have a good time. While the protestant work ethos was to work hard and save for the future. Of course this was a few hundred years back.

I defo follow the catholic work ethos, earn just to have a great time.

There is also an episode of catholic heaven and proddy heaven in the simpsins. Catholic heaven is Italian, Irish and mexicans get drunk and having fun. While proddy heaven eas a country club

Dat Catholic guilt though.

Agreed.

Full disclosure, I'm muslim myself. But I willingly refuse to practice it.
Islam in itself is actually peaceful religion. People who does those acts of horrific stuff are cunts of absolute degree, whether they are muslims and or not is irrelevant.

I am a practicing muslim and horrified by what happened in Paris.

Exactly, these groups recruit vunerable and disturbed men. They try and use religion to make them do horrible things.

Catholics have it easy man, they can just pay off their sins and say a couple of hail marry's. And they have way better churches, Protestants are so sober. Catholics went all out.

I should get it soon!

Didn't even know you're into them, curious to know what you think. They've tried something new with some disco-like songs. They didn't click much at first, but now after five times I catch myself enjoying them more and more :p

Fucking hell, just seen on the news that the head of the PFA compared Ched Evans to the Hillsborough victims in not being given justice.

What a moron.

Actually I have't listened to them before. I have been converted by Spoon as I am actually willing to try out newer releases by old bands of the 90s era. I hate the 90s era , but that is probably because of what was popular back then. I should diversify more.

By the way, I am hyped for the new Satellite Story Album which is coming out next month. They are Finish Synth/New-Wave band that started as a Two Door Cinema Club Rip-off, but as of their 3rd album, they became their own and now their new singles have been absolutely fantastic.

You should really try them out:

Aye. Its actually more infuriating for us, because they are using things that we abide by in a criminal ways which could effect all of the people who are practicing.

The Lampard is and always has been a complete non-issue. Even before he issued his statement and reiterated his NYCFC start date, I posted this elsewhere:

"Why would Man City be involved with this agreement [my GAF post note: for the move to NYCFC] now that we are fully aware he is under contract with City? He will move on a free transfer to NYCFC. What is likely the case is that Lampard signed an agreement with CFG that he would join NYCFC at a later date (previously assumed as 1/1/15 but now 7/1/15)."

The fact he actually signed for Man City made previous discussion of this being some way around FFP or whatever idiocy was proposed even more silly. The only issue here is misrepresentation of his start date at the club. That sucks for the fans, but if you're buying season tickets due to 1 player and not due to the team itself then you're kinda shitty anyway so I don't feel too bad.

Impressionable youth are susceptible to the hate-preachers of all kinds especially in the internet age. Its no surprise where these people come from and it sickens to watch the western media give the likes of ISIS the oxygen of publicity.

NYCFC are a brand new club that haven't even played a game yet. I'd imagine most of their fans are people who want to watch Lampard and Villa play.

Yeah, I read about them before. Will check it out!

And the 90's got loads of interesting indie stuff. It's the era of bands like Pavement, Built to Spill, Yo La Tengo, Grandaddy and Sebadoh. And what might be the most awesome Scottish band, Teenage Fanclub.

Trust me, ISIS is very dangerous to us Muslims, even more so to the rest of the western country since they are actually killing people in Iraq and Syria on the basis of them not being followed. And yes, if Western Media stopped their coverage on them, the better.

Its sad stuff all around!

Within all that rambling incoherence you have not dealt with the key issues of why there are three conflicting stories and multiple changes to stories (especially if everything they've done is above board) nor have you explained why third party ownership or indeed the use of holding companies to hold player contracts is relevant to the inconsistencies in the stories told about Lampard's contract status. Not to mention that corporate shenanigans with contract ownership would make much more sense if Lampard was on especially high wages or attracted a large transfer fee. In the context of City he is not.

Welcome, who do you support?

I'm not defending how it was presented to the public especially to potential season ticket holders of NYCFC but rather explaining the basics on what occurred with the Lampard deal and if there is any truth behind the noise about Messi and the clubs (which I doubt as there are rumours every year dealing with the same clubs and the same player) the exact same kind of deal would have to be used. The deal was between the City Football Group and Lampard rather than MCFC or NYFC, then a contract was made with MCFC. I was also trying to address the whole NYCFC being used as a farm club to navigate FFP as it doesn't need to be.

I agree that it was shady in the way it was presented but business wise there isn't anything illegal or against any rules to warrant investigation and a waste of resources and effort. There are methods where this is used in highly dubious ways, the thing with Lampard not so much and is a bit overblown really. Though people who bought season tickets for NYCFC could potentially have a legal case.

In terms of the corporate shenanigans regarding why Lampard had a contact of this sort I can only guess and I would assume that it was to see how the two leagues reacted to it and with a free little money would have been lost. For me the obvious question is why hasn't this really been seen before and why now? For me the answer is there was no FFP so this type of contract navigation wouldn't have been needed and to try it out on a big money player that would navigate FFP could be a very big risk, Lampard is the example that this sort of contract is possible and that the heads of the PL are apparently totally fine with it.

I'm a City fan.

I find it incredibly interesting that City turned around and said "Sorry guys it's not a loan he actually signed for us on a 'short term contract' of six months." Only then to be reminded by the FA that contracts of less than 12 months are not allowed under rule T11. At which point City turned around and said "Ooooohhhhhhhh yeeeaaahhhh sorry we mean it was a year long contract with a six month break clause. That's the one."

Let's face it they're chatting shit, likely broke the rules but nothing will happen.

I've listened to the first three, but not the last three. Any albums to start with?

I listened to the Microphones - the Glow pt. 2 for the first time today, what a brilliant album

But yeah, I should really get into some of the stuff there. I recently started listen to Amercian Football and they are amazing!
If you like American Football, listen to Cap n' Jazz.

Analphabetapolothology is the album to listen to.

I love Teenage Fanclub so much. I don't why I haven't listened to them recently, but I grew up listen to them a lot. Such a fun band. I never gotten into Yo La Tengo even though my friend is really into them (he actually gave me bunch of records by them) and Pavement is well.... Pavement.

I can't really get behind that mindset. If you're going to support a team, then support the team. Someone liking a team due to 1 player is an idiot, frankly. I have UT Austin season tickets (college football) because I moved here and work at the university. There's lots of new players every year and frankly they haven't been very good but I still support them.

Sebadoh: Bakesale and Harmacy
Grandaddy: The Sophtware Slump and Under the Western Freeway
Teenage Fanclub: Bandwagonesque, Grand Prix and Songs From Northern Brittian.

These are probably my favourites.

City have never said anything about him signing a 6 month deal that I'm aware of -- in fact, they made no public comments at all on the situation other than when it was confirmed he was staying until today I believe (think someone from the club spoke to The Guardian but I haven't read it). The break clause came from the BBC writer who must have seen the contract.

It is far more likely they did not break the rules than they did. The same people complaining about this are the same type who were saying MCFC were trying to get away with not paying Lampard and other silliness. United and Arsenal fans are absolutely desperate -- that's the reality.

Will probably start with the Sebadoh albums later tonight.

"Manchester City are embroiled in a disagreement with the Premier League over Frank Lampard, with the governing body upset at the champions insistence the midfielder only signed a short-term contract at the club.

The Premier League contacted City on Friday to ask them to change the clarification issued earlier in the day that was supposed to clear up the confusion over Lampard’s precise status at the club.

While City stated that Lampard had signed on a six-month contract up to New Year’s Eve the Premier League urged the club to confirm he had signed a 12-month deal starting in August with a break clause on 31 December that had to be removed for the 36-year-old to stay with City."

The Premier League actually had to correct you. It's possible the people making the announcement were mistaken, but yeah.

I will try and compile some 90's essentials list according to me. You're gonna have to take Pavement for granted :p

The last good Scottish band was Travis

Scottish bands I like and know are Scottish (implying that there might be others of which I'm not aware they're Scottish):

Mogwai, Belle and Sebastian, Franz Ferdinand, Camera Obscura, Frightened Rabbit, Teenage Fanclub, CHVRCHES, Django Django and Young Fathers.

I can't either but what other reason would there be to support a brand new team who haven't?

In the case of UT Austin, they're already an established team with a history and a fanbase so it's more natural that you'd follow them regardless of their current form and players. The only people who I can see being drawn to NYCFC at the moment are people in the US who love lampard/villa or people in NY who follow football but haven't chosen an MLS team to support yet.

I don't really care if City were circumventing FFP or whatever and I'm happy to still have Lampard playing in England but I do think it sucks for the tens of NYCFC fans out there.

Come on, its good music I like. Franz Ferdinand is mainstream and I love them!

Oh don't worry, I may actually watch the Championship because Everton might be actually play there :(
