I think we need a more mobile replacement for Lucas and another creative central midfielder, though that could be Coutinho.

Hendo, Can, Coutinho, Allen, Rossiter, Lucas, new DM (Luis Alberto, Suso).

We know how effective a mobile Rodgers midfield is, from last season and at Swansea, so I think the above is good enough for the football we want to play.
Of course, we had a fair boy of success from Gerrard's long balls and set pieces.

It doesn't seem like Gerrard can really be phased out slowly so this is the best option.

I think he'd be great for rotating in cup games and coming on for 20-30 minutes, but either Rodgers doesn't have the balls to do that, or Gerrard wants to go somewhere where he can continue to play 90 minutes.

Would love him at the Revs, personally. Jermaine Jones could do all the running. It'd be like Beckham's final years with the Galaxy

Fucking love Burnley, fallen for them big time. Odd that a team are doing much better than you predicted when they're 19th, but they are. Shows what maximum effort can get you; if they had a team as talented as even teams like Hull's or QPR's are on paper, and applied themselves just the same, they'd be near the top ten.

Martinez is a good coach, but defensively he relies too much on just having the ball. It's not enough at this level to keep it so you don't have to worry about that side of the game.
