Instead of buying half of Europe, maybe you should actually develop the team you already have.

You can't turn Evans and Smalling from bring injury prone into not being that way, so that fact alone throws a spanner in your idea.

Too many long term injury prone players need replaced, its not a simple matter of quality or lack thereof or lack of development time.

Also did a Bayern supporter just lecture about buying in players?

The situations really aren't all that similar. United's history of taking top talent from within their own league never targeted one club, a direct and immediate rival with uncapped aspirations, thus leaving them as a broken entity.

I suppose the equivalent would've been for them to buy Silva, Kompany and Aguero in successive seasons. But even then City could've just bought someone else, Dortmund seemingly couldn't.

It's sad to watch but it's what you expect from the Bundesliga.

Indeed, its almost as if Dortmund are a feeder club for Bayern.

Its pathetic, Dortmund need to start cashing in on players instead of letting them leave on a free to Bayern.

Also the lack of competition in the Bundeslige is shocking.

:( didn't know you were part of them Nathan.

I can't believe you didn't have one of 99' cl final goals in your list.

Well I love them both, but I didn't watch the match live, and was kinda picking my goals based on aesthetics.

There's plenty more I'd have though. Too many to count.

...Incredible

Dean probably watched the match since he supported man united back then.

Surprised Scholes volleyball spike isn't on your lists either.

I assume they translated what they had to because of the umlaut and kept the rest. Why change Bayern to Bavaria in the first place if you don't have to? At some point they just stuck with it.

Edit:
The Guardian has another answer: http://www.theguardian.com/notesandqueries/query/0,5753,-2650,00.html
