Is online working for you and Lloyd? We should play.

Bla is pretty damn good, he's just a very unpredictable individial, which makes him so interesting.

Haven't tried online once, but I haven't really been home since last Sunday. When I get some time I'll try it.

Ah, I see.

tbf to the other 3, they barely have a 10m population between them. Scotland seems to have the focus on football and structure in place to expect much better from the national team, but Wales and Northern Ireland are doing about as well as I'd expect over the last decade or so

It's true we have a low population (I'm Scottish BTW) but so do the Dutch. It's amazing what a change in philosophy can achieve. I'm well aware there's more to it than than (lots of socio economic factors) however our kick and rush counter attacking style hasn't really done much for us. I'm seeing signs that Strachan is starting to turn things around.

I don't know if the the original discussion was a troll topic or not, but I'd argue that Scholes was the most versatile player out of the three. Started his career as a striker, scored a ton of goals as an attacking midfielder, and dictated play from midfield and then from a holding role as he neared the end if his career. Gerrard struggles as a holding player and I don't think Lampard has ever played there.

Stuart Mcall > Scholes + Lampard + Gerrard + Pele combined

Also Vlaar is nowt near Man United standard. Yes yes Evans is in poor form and injuries but i reckon not worth giving him even a 1 year deal when you may as well wait until summer and go big for Hummmels.

He is a good prem player but not the player you need if you wanna be challenging for titles/playing CL football.

If we can get Vlaar for less than 5m (unlikely), he adds an older head, some experience and leadership to our defence, as well as knowing our manager and working well in his favoured system in a team that got to the semi finals of a world cup.

Would be a very decent stopgap.

:lol

I love how you just ignore the truth. You're such a Glazer.

I love United fans having a pop about Bayern stealing Dortmund players. United have a long history of stealing or trying to steal the best player of their nearest rivals lol

Vlaar would be great for Arsenal, United, etc. as a backup but I agree he shouldn't be the first choice if you want to challenge for titles.

Does he not know Ferguson's transfer policies, person proves themselves in the league, he buys them.

Edit: Keane/Cantona/Carrick/Berbatov/Young/van der Sar/van Persie

Who did we steal from Arsenal (1998-2004), Man City, Chelsea or Liverpool?

van Persie doesn't count because we weren't rivals then. Shearer might count if we had actually got him.

RvP came a few years ago innit? How were you not rivals?

Not that I mind by the way. Just saying.

At least we have success. Now go home and become a family man.

We may not have trophies

But i have gorgeous flowing locks atop my head.

Good luck, Bla.

Taking players from the likes of Fulham and Villa is not the same as systematically exerting your big dick and gutting your closest rivals year after year.

Yurt

Actually United have a history of buying fucking odd players and yet continue to win with their impeccable homegrown English core

o its only a rival thing? thats a qualification only in your head.

surely its worse to take from the smaller teams as they have no way of stopping united coming in.

Bigger teams have the chance to offer better deals.

Edit: cantona and keane were from rivals.

Because we were challenging for trophies and Arsenal were challenging for fourth place.

To be fair, Arsenal haven't been out of the top 4 since 1997. Tough to claim they weren't rivals. They're probably the most consistent top club of the bunch. Too bad Wenger can't seem to get them any further anymore.

No it isn't worse, because it isn't killing off the only rivals we have.

Cantona I'll give you, but that was a phone call to Leeds, cordial conversation and they offered. None of this hilariously underhand nonsense like leaking release clauses and stuff.

One of their bosses has been in prison. The other one's a snide underhand cunt. Mia san mia.

They're consistently average in their aspirations as a top club.
