NO PAIN TRANCE CONTINUE
His last movie. "Suicide" after 3 or so years. Easy to see why regarding the movies subject matter. But hey, just a movie right

Merry Christmas to all.

I reccomand Shame (2011) directed by Steve McQueen. Michael Fassbender is in the movie. Just a warning it's one of the most sexually explicit movies I seen in a long time. The acting all around is fantastic and the cinematography is outstanding
This movie is a masterpiece. It's not for everyone but man. I'll add that the soundtrack and score are great as well.

I had a solid Christmas. Spent it with family, though my sister’s family wasn’t able to visit cause they all got sick. But I was just over their house last night making gingerbread houses with my nieces.

(that’s supposed to say poop, but the icing was drippy and awful lol)

Got some cool gifts. Got this Canadian tabletop bar game called crokinole, which I’ve wanted for years. It’s like a combination of shuffleboard and snooker almost. My uncle got me and my fiancée a nice set of stainless steel pots and pans, which I desperately wanted.

My parents bought me a really nice workbench for our house, which I also really needed. And a bunch of other bits and bobs here and there, a lot of really thoughtful and fun gifts.

I got my toddler nephews a bunch of fun toys. My nieces will open their gifts on Friday when they feel better. Got my dad a new iPhone and my mom some fun stuff and some religious stuff. Got my uncle security cameras, which I’ll probably help him set up in a couple days.

And my mom made raviolis, and we had endless desserts, beer, and wine. Overall a great Christmas.

I’m hosting a Christmas party for my friends in a few days, and I still need to get most of them gifts lol.

And of course I kept checking GAF throughout the day to see what everyone was up to. Solid day. 🍻

I have been simulating Pokemon card pull rates to get an idea of how many packs I'd need to buy to get a chance of getting the card I bought on ebay!

iu

Each pack is going for ~£19 and I started at x50 (£950). The card didn't appear once. The card sells for £1,350-2,000 for a graded 10 (perfect condition).

x100 / £1,900 = 0 (100% loss*)
x150 / £2,850 = 0 (100% loss)
x300 / £5,700 = 0 (100% loss)
x400 / £7,600 = 0 (100% loss)
x500 / £9,500 = 1 (£7,500-8,150 loss)
x750 / £14,250 = 0 (100% loss)
x1000 / £19,000 = 0 (100% loss)
x2000 / £38,000 = 1 (£36,000-36,650 loss)
x4000 / £76,000 = 1 (£74,000-74,650 loss)

I'm not gonna simulate anymore of this card because it is taking way too long now lol but yeah that's how rare it is. *You could lose tens of thousands to get just 1 or none of this card!

The most recent english expansion's chase card is this:

iu

A pack cost ~£4.50 if you can find it in stock. The card sells for £600-700 for a graded 10.

x50 / £225 = 1 (£375-475 profit*)
x100 / £450 = 2 (£750-950 profit)
x150 / £675 = 3 (£1,125-1,425 profit)
x300 / £1,350 = 3 (£450-750 profit)
x400 / £1,800 = 6 (£1,800-2,400 profit)
x500 / £2,250 = 7 (£1,950-2,650 profit)
x750 / £3,375 = 14 (£5,025-6,425 profit)
x1000 / £4,500 = 8 (£300-1,100 profit)
x2000 / £9,000 = 20 (£3,000-5,000 profit)
x4000 / £18,000 = 40 (£6,000-10,000 profit)

I actually bought x70 packs of this expansion and didn't get the card. I felt like I could have opened another 100 and still not get it so I bought it on ebay. Going by those rates it's actually cheaper (*potentially profitable) to buy packs.

EDIT: I suck at numbers so probably made a mistake somewhere lol.

EDIT 2: For fun, the Umbreon card I just ran a x10,000 pack simulation / £190,000 and it came back with 5 (£183,250-180,000 loss).

For the Pikachu card, a x10,000 / £45,000 simulation is 122 (£28,200-40,400 profit).

It took my PC 9 mins to simulate 20,000 pack openings and I have a 16 core / 32 thread CPU :messenger_tears_of_joy: Of course it might be limited on the server side but my CPU usage is up doing this. My GPU is even kicking in now and then.

I've been through some shit but I hope to never experience kidney stones.
Everything I heard is 200% horrible.

Fight the good fight Skip ❤️

I will think fondly of you & your kind words every time I go to the bathroom today, Marston. <3

My sister has passed kidney stones before and said she'd rather go through childbirth again.

I puked everything up because the pain was so intense. I can testify that the experience is unbearable but not sure how the pregnancy thing actually compares.

I eat the best part of 70 ounces of Aberdeen Angus steak, through out a 24 hour period once. Passing that was like Passing a Coca-Cola can.

I was very, very worried.

Today being Boxing Day I just had a flashback to when I used to work at Sam the Recordman downtown from 1987 to 1992.

Boxing Day was a big event with people lining up in the cold as early as 5 AM.
Almost everything was 50% to 70% off.

We would come in at 7AM and change the prices with markers and open up at noon.

It was pure madness with customers running, fighting over items and the local news trying to get their camera next to me standing at my cashier spot.
Me and the other head cashier would yell "FUCK OFF!!" and elbow them outta the way 😆

To this day I still remember one of the first guys in line one year showing up at my till with frozen snot all over his mustache and only buying a Bing Crosby Christmas CD which was only 30% off.
That's it, nothing else. 7 hours waiting in the freezing cold for one item 😄
My mind is still boggled.

Anyway here's a little snippet from 1983:

Good times 😊

Oh snap, I don’t think I knew you were Canadian. That’s a great story, lol.

Speaking of Canada, I got a crokinole board yesterday for Christmas. I’ve been wanting one for ages, that game is so good.

Those scenarios give much needed perspective lol

It seems like one of the themes of The Wiz was that NYC was kind of shitty for black people. I find that part of it interesting.

I set up Steam Link on my iPhone but it was so awkward using touch screen. I put it on my MacBook and connected my Xbox controller.

Now I can play my Steam games anywhere! :D I still have the old Steam Link box from years ago but not sure it works. I guess I just forgot about Steam Link. I was wanting a way to play my PC games on my TV/in bed and that’s when I remembered.

Might buy myself a Firestick to play on my TV :D the experience was quite good. The image stuttered once or twice but otherwise looked good and felt responsive.

It was my second favourite Alien film after the original. I didn’t like Aliens or the other main ones.

I’m probably in a minority with this opinion.

Romulus is a bit stupid at times but I enjoyed it. I thought Prometheus was good but didn’t like Covenant.
