That's too bad.

I can only feel so bad for people who OD, although I will admit he was a great actor.

RIP. At least he went out on a good note, starring in a Batman movie and all.

Well he's got a housekeeper so I doubt the ceiling is just dirty and they're making something out of nothing, but if it was note or something you'd think they'd have mentioned it by now

I'm sure they're just being thorough. Clearly this is huge and the spotlight will be on them if they fuck something up.

My understanding (from TMZ) is that the body was moved out a few minutes ago anyway.

He died with an overdose of sleeping pills, how is that "doing drugs".

there are a wide array of drugs, not just the "mainstream" ones like heroin and cocaine. there are lots of uppers and downers and sleeping pills make a perfect downer.

Sad for his daughter to loose her father.

Michelle is hot.

Regardless of whether it was accidental or intentional, I wonder why more drugs don't have some sort of emetic coating to induce vomiting when too much is taken. I know there was a patent placed over a decade ago, so I'd figure there would be something out by now to prevent these sorts of things from happening.

msnbc is reporting that the joker role himself made him depressed.

this does happen to actors.

I remember Brad Pitt complained of depression due to his filming of Interview with the Vampire.

They said they found over the counter sleeping pills. Also they have Dr. Drew on CNN himself stating that its unusual that a male would die taking such and that it may have been due to a heavy dose of the Tylenol inside of those type of over the counter pills.

This is all speculation but nobody should be jumping on this passed away actor's case.

When you're world is constantly thrown into darkness, its hard to come out of it.

I have mixed feelings about
recasting Joker for the third Nolan Batman film. I don't know whether recasting (and finishing the story), or not recasting and leaving the series at a potential cliffhanger would better honor Heath and what he would have wanted. I guess Nolan could rewrite/re-edit the ending of TDK too.

Wow. He's younger than I am.

I really feel for his two year-old daughter. I have a daughter that same age, and I can't imagine how she'd respond to losing a parent. That's just awful. :(

I don't care what happens to Joker in Dark Knight or the sequels. All i care is that they can definitely screw the movie up and blame it for his death, which would suck big time.

huh

this will make it a cult classic for eternity. :(

DECK'ARD

The Amiga Brotherhood
First Brad Renfro, now this. Can't believe it.

Hope this isn't another example of bad things come in threes.

RIP.

Lacks the power of instantaneous movement
I'm shocked. I didn't know he was such a heavy user.

It's strange having people your age die.

RIP

Comics, serious business!
TMZ is reporting that Ledger has had a history of substance abuse problems. He's been clean for a year.

Honor? This is Hollywood. We'll get a special mention at the Oscars in February, and a "Dedicated to Heath Ledger" text in the beginning / end of TDK.

Then it'$ bu$ine$$ a$ u$ual.

Spoiler tagging this just to be safe, but I wouldn't want a recast knowing what I know of TDK. After seeing it, I might demand to know what happens, but the Joker appears then disappears in the comics sometimes, right? Why do we need to know what happens? I'd rather them leave that character alone, rewrite the script so he's not in it, finish the trilogy, and leave the franchise for another group of people to work on it. Never knowing what happened to the Joker would be the greatest joke of all...

This isn't a fucking Batman speculation thread. Shut up.

A re-edit of the ending to TDK might be possible, depending on what they shot. The problem would be the writer's strike. No one can write any new material if they need to call back in the rest of the cast for a quick reshoot.
