Just had a heavy night on the drink so I missed this by a few hours when I went to bed and stayed in bed for hours.

R.I.P. man.

He was awesome in Two Hands, and it's going to be quite saddening to watch him in The Dark Knight.

Awful, awful news.

Ledger was a great hard-working actor who really seemed to care about his roles. Dying at such a young age and leaving behind a two year old daughter, that just really sucks.

Looks like a very sad accident. Sleep deprivation + pneumonia + sleeping pills look to be the main culprit.
I sure hope this is the cause of death. I don't want to watch his movie and remember him as just another actor taking the easy way out from life.

i find it suspiciously odd jason lee would be so put off by somebody doing coke. especially being in show business. especially being friends with jason mewes. i mean i'd understand if he was like "yeah i left that party, not my thing" but he was pretty much saying OMFG PATHETIC ... err
I know people who are dead set against what they see as "hard drugs" like coke, meth and heroine yet are totally fine with marijuana. I don't know what Mewes drug habits are but the guy seems to strike me more of a pothead than a thrill seeking addict. Just saying.

Mewes was into a LOT more than pot. The guy was a junkie.

mewes was HORRIBLE with hard drugs. kevin smith blogged about it, and the mewes wiki goes into detail, if you want to check it out

his addiction story was the worst i've ever heard

What the shit? Not only Jason Lee but also Greta Van Susteren, Beck and Giovanni Ribisi?
Beck really surprised me, yeah, but I guess both his parents were Scientologists. Seems really incongruous with his persona to me.

But we digress...

I never know whether or not Beck is one. He denies it sometimes and other times he doesn't answer the question. Who knows.

It depresses me knowing that the only images she ever sees of her father will be in his movies. She will see him, but be unable to make any contact, to say anything to her father. The image in my head is of a little girl watching his movies over and over, trying to get a glimpse of the true man behind the screen. Unable to do or say anything to him. It's just depressing.

Wait, you don't believe Terry Gilliam attracts bad luck do you?

The guy has had movies blow up and collapse during production before... kinda makes you wonder.

Though who know if this one will be over with. Guess it depends on how much of the movie they'd have to reshoot.

I was minding my own business while listening to radio when I heard the news on it.

I heard "Why so serious"(obviously to hear his latest role, nothing insensitive) and other quotes followed by hearing about Heath's death. Damn.

I knew 100% that there'd be a topic on this forum.

This is terribly sad news. I did not believe it when I read the title of this thread. RIP Mr. Ledger. I only knew him through his films, but I got a lot of enjoyment of his characters in 10 Things I Hate About You, A Knight's Tale, and I'm Not There.

That is so sad. I know my grandfather died when I was 2 or 3. I really have very little recollection. Just what my family tells me and bits of home video that never capture much. I can't imagine if that was my father.

looking at that video of Heath talking about the Joker, he does look to have the itch. i really hope this doesn't turn out to be a suicide.

still loved a lot of his films. The Four Feathers, Monster's Ball, Brokeback, and of course i can't wait for TDK. this news really bummed me out today.

You put it so well. It's just so sad.

Well yeah, but when someone dies at age 28, a history of drug abuse is at the very least worthy of a mention.
its been confirmed time after time that he was cleaned for an entire year. It doesn't even sound like drug abuse anyway.

Of course it wasn't drug abuse...

apparently his girlfriend said that he wasn't depressed or anything last night when they went out. He was sick and coughing all over place in a restaurant though so they cut the night short.

Oh and she was the one that said he had pneumonia. So i don't think its suicide at all. :(
