It is inarguable at this point that Rowling is actively and demonstrably destructive to trans lives, especially that of children and those in the UK. The wave of transphobia she ignited and continues to drive has led to legislation being scrapped, rights being removed, career paths denied, children's charities closing services, proposed bans on torture reversed and hate crimes against trans people reaching record highs. That is all to say that this is having not just a real impact, but a significant one. Life for trans people in the UK grows more uncertain as a direct consequence of the above, and it's not about to stop."

One thing I learned is that you can massively profit from being an activist. Just use a search engine on the funds of BLM and where it went, that's just one prominent example.

Because the folks at Reee are hypocrites and will handwave things if it's in favor of their favorite gaming companies. Reee loves Sony almost as much as GAF, and while they criticized Jimbo for the stuff about gay marriage that quickly blew over, then they canceled Phil for talking about cancel culture. Ubisoft and ABK content aren't banned and execs at those companies actually did terrible shit, because they don't have any actual integrity to ban big name devs/publishers, only pick on a smaller one for things not even done by anyone at the actual company.

I've seen like one clip of some bad collision detection and other than that it's a guy getting furious that you can't run away from a person mid-mission without the mission failing. Or that you can't land on every rooftop in Hogwarts. Good reason I stopped browsing /v/ years ago.

I don't really know what people expected other than an open world third person action game with a HP skin. Is there a ton of footage I'm missing to deem it a "trainwreck"?

Will be some better spells to unlock later in the game but there's no way that clip isn't from like the first few hours

Yeah I just rewatched it, that's hilarious - literally doesn't use a single other spell and is hitting for 1 point of damage each time because it's clearly ineffective. Definitely not a good player or trying to make it look worse.

The person in that video didn't cast anything but the basic blast, and dodging. Badly I might add. Zero advanced combat tactics that we have seen in the spotlights previews or even the trailers.

It seems like there's a culture clash between the gamer gaming enthusiasts and the Harry Potter fans, most of whom are normies. I would dare say that many of the issues being brought up here will not matter to HL's target audience, particularly when it comes to combat.

I think the hardcore players would only be satisfied with HL combat if it pulled from Elden Ring (or Gears of War maybe lol), but that wouldn't really fit with the HP universe (and besides, you're supposed to be a 15-year-old student). If it looks and feels like it does in the books/movies, then it's mission accomplished. The big areas that will make or break this game are story, gameplay, and immersion.

It looks like they aren't using any abilities or items or............anything lol. They are just dodging and spamming the "normal" attack.

I'm waiting until after release to decide on the game (and I'm a big HP fan), but this video seems a bit misleading. I expect there to be technical issues for sure (especially on PC), which is my biggest concern at this point.

I doubt it's too unique in the gameplay department. I've said in other threads it looks like the Arkam combat but ranged. The combat isn't really that much different from the Disney infinity games they worked on in the past.(my kids loved those games, and they were solid as far as gameplay went)

My expectations are solid gameplay in a setting I have wanted for a long time.

I see what you mean. There are some similarities to Souls games but I guess not enough to look exciting for the hardcore lol...

I saw a guy on Twitter sharing a video of the combat and saying "this looks like ass lol", while others would basically say "looks like HP combat in an HP game. that's good!".

I will say there are high-level duels in the books and movies (Voldemort vs. Dumbledore in book/movie 5 comes to mind, and there was also a bit of Minerva vs. Snape in book 7), but that's beyond the level of a 5th year student.
