Definitely not gta5 level of sales, that game hit 170m sales recently, I think this game will sell 5 million in 1 month and 15 million this year.

It was the best selling game of December and January on every platform except xbox where it was second in Dec first in January, and it’s not out yet. This game has probably sold close to 5m in pre sales.

Have been around too long on gaming boards, from the Dreamcast technical boards ahead of the Japanese launch onwards and the early gaming-age forums prior to the morph into neogaf.
I can honestly say I have never seen any discussion on era following the split that had both mature and educated technical discussions that mostly understood the bleeding edge gameplay and graphics that was discussed.
The members ranged from hardcore gaming geeks (yep I used to consider myself one of those at one point) through to the coders/hackers, industry insiders, press and experienced developers that used to post on neogaf In it's prime and aside from bans for obvious drive by low-level system-wars trolling or explicit swearing I don't remember that many bans,
I've NEVER seen memes since that time that lived up to the quality and sophistication of the classics that came from those days either.. perhaps hogwarts will bring them back

I've never complained about mods ever on the internet before... But they are nuts. I'm not even mad I got banned there years ago for something innocuous. They have gone from an 8 on the power tripping scale to an 11 ever since covid.
