Thats where the dockable Series S (whatever they call it) will come in, to target the masses
Ps5 VS series x allready is awkward, series x was marketed as the greatest powerhouse with sustained 12 TF performance and some other slogans. In reality they are pretty much equal.PS5 Slim & PS5 Pro vs Series S & Series X would make things kind of awkward don't you think?
Because more than the CPU and GPU changes between generations? Such as IO, different cooling, power, controllers etc. CPU and GPU also easily taken up the majority of cost for a console. I see what you mean if you just mean the 'Pro' upgrade, but then you are left with a useless CPU/GPU component that is then useless, at least with a whole new console you could sell it to get some money back.I dont get why we can’t have modular consoles with contracts for 5-10 years for upgrades from vendors.
Slide in replaceable cpu and gpu solutions. It’s not hard to have graphic settings automated via hardware installed in a closed system.
Im not saying generational upgrades but more like if your product is has a 10 year life span let the vendors sell pre approved hardware upgrades throughout the life of that specific console. I understand the need for new motherboards etc between generation but they could release a Zen 2 with more cores etc, and a GPU with more memory years later.Because more than the CPU and GPU changes between generations? I just think it would be a very hard sell to the consumer, even modular like that you are probably talking $200-$300 each time, and it would make it tougher on Sony's first party Devs, if you want that kind of modular that's what PC is for. I think the Pro route is the best option half way through the gen, it's not a must have but good upgrade for those that can afford it (or, as mentioned, sell the base model to part fund the pro)Im not saying generational upgrades but more like if your product is has a 10 year life span let the vendors sell pre approved hardware upgrades throughout the life of that specific console. I get it just hate the PC maintenance tax. Yeah he pretty much made this video just for hitsWith that title and coming from a MS shill (though one with a good track record of leaking information) such as Brad Sams, I was definitely expecting him to confirm that a XSX Pro was on the way along with some specs and shit.
Very lame to find out that it was a clickbait to 10mins of the man going into why it isn't and shouldn't be a Xbox Pro this generation.

Very likely a bunch of three-way face offs but more than likely, the Pro will most often be compared to the regular PS5.So will DF put them head to head or keep throwing high end Gaming PCs at PS5 Pro ?
I see the PS5 Pro more of a "we did it because we could", like the Portal who was first conceived for the PS4. After the PS4 Pro relative success, Sony probably made plans for a possible PS5 Pro and when they found out that it had potential they got to do it. From their side there is no real problem in doing so and quite a few advantages. Xbox to me just did not think about it and now are forced to react to it. We know for example that they will probably leak something about their next console around Sony official reveal. If Xbox wanted to they could have planned for a Pro, they just did not see the need for some reason.A huge part of the impetus for Sony doing the Pro was - I'm pretty sure - the idea that MS couldn't or at least were extremely unlikely to do the same.
A huge problem for Xbox this gen has been their content pipeline, and adding more SKU's to that would only slow down production further. Just on the basis of numbers of builds needed to be maintained and QA'd, its a significant factor for development,
Impact to dev is a big deal, because support isn't mandatory. Its a mid-cycle upgrade meaning that its as likely to sell to an existing user than a new one, and therefore not going to boost overall sales of a title by much.
More time/expense for minimal benefit is not something especially appealing to third-parties. So Xbox adding another SKU in, especially when sales aren't great, was just not likely to be something anyone would be happy about industry-wide.
Sony are pushing their luck a bit with the Pro, obviously they are hedging it by making stuff like upscaling an easy "win", but I guess they can justify it based on strategic value more than profit.
PS5 vs Series S
PS5 Pro vs Series X![]()
Until the new Xbox comes outDF will stop making comparisons for good
LOL
Until the new Xbox comes out
How would that be different from PS5 Pro?Series Z
Now devs would have a new SKU to target.
Much fun
How many onQ123 posts does onQ123 have bookmarked, printed out, framed, and nailed to the wall in onQ123’s manor
Yeah try againIt means the vast majority of PS5 Pro games are going to be Xbox Series S games with the 'Post Processing" set to medium instead of low and the FSR set to "Performance" instead of "ultra performance".
This thread is a subtle jab at PS5 Pro preorder owners. "You really spent $1,100 to play Series S games?" harsh.
We have some idea of what will happen from Xbox side: some info on their next generation plans, and we know that this year so far they do not plan to heavily cut prices of their consoles as they plan to sell consoles will bigger storage instead. This christmas season will be fascinating to see in the US and Europe. Will COD save them?Only a few more weeks
I'm sueing!But is a Xbox that's not really a Xbox still a Xbox?
Hint Xbox fight will be with Steam trying to win back the PC & with Apple & Google trying to get a place on Smartphones .
