Just a question: Was there ever a case where a giant conglomerate swallowed game studios and/or smaller videogame related conglomerates and it turned out well?

Because I can't think of one. Most of the examples I have belong to Microsoft and EA, and we all know how great those acquisitions were...

Sony has as good a track record as anyone in the industry in buying studios and advancing them to higher tiers.

Nixxes - Look at what Nixxes has done since Sony bought them compared to their entire history before. 8 games since they started working with Sony. 8 games since 2021 and it is only increasing. Sony is probably publishing more unique AAA games on PC than anyone else (i.e. not annual release titles).

They're also highly successful with their internally built studios.

They did not restrict to conglomerate buying a conglomerate, they said game studios and/or conglomerates being acquired by other studios or conglomerates .
