Nope, friend had a spare he sold to me, joys of being ex games industryYou traded in your old PS5 I assume?
They still need to patch this ...a regular 4k oled is still a damn good TV, the majority of Pro owners don't even have 120 hz ...all they need to do is unlock the fps in Quality mode. If the Pro can't pull that off than I don't know what to say. They're just being lazy not patching it at this point
Do you have VRR?I tested cyberpunk yesterday. Image looked sharper, but still got fps drops in the city a lot of times, feels like its running about the same which was really disappointing. Also i noticed the reflective surfaces had that weird shimmering and this one isnt pro patched at all. Sony needs to work on some firmware updates for the pro thats for sure.
Also devs needs to test their fucking games with PSSR enabled before releasing a patch. Some games are great, but lot of games having issues with it and its the same issues with flickering shadows and reflections. Use a different method if your game is a mess with it...
Do you have VRR?
I have an oled c8 which is 120 hz but can't do 120 hz without black crush due im guessing to compression as it's not vrr capable.Source on that? If you don't have a capable display it would seem a waste to get a Pro as you are losing out on key features right out the gate. It's like owning a 500+ GPU and having a 1080p 60hz monitor.
I think the C9 is when LG added support for hdmi 2.1 for 4k 120hz the C8 is definitely still awesome though because of the oled panel I doubt you're missing muchI have an oled c8 which is 120 hz but can't do 120 hz without black crush due im guessing to compression as it's not vrr capable.
It's still a capable display and you suggesting it's pointless to get a Pro unless you have a 120 hz display is ridiculous and a bizarre way to justify them not patching Uncharted. There are obviously many improvements one can still get with the Pro without 120 hz.
Do I really need to list them for you? Come on you're being very obtuse here. As long as someone has a 4k TV they're getting 90% of the same benefits on Pro as someone with 120 hz.
But that never happens - VRR window border is below 60 (48 or 40, hw dependant), so there's no doubling above 120hz needed either. But you need a limit it to double to 120+ fps
But nd is doing internal doubling or something to have larger windowBut that never happens - VRR window border is below 60 (48 or 40, hw dependant), so there's no doubling above 120hz needed either.
Yes, that's how LFC always works. But nd is doing internal doubling or something to have larger window
FFVII RebirthWith all these issues with PSSR and botched game updates, are there even any games left that are impressive to play on PS5 Pro?
Why do you think the shimmering is not present on OG PS5?I tested cyberpunk yesterday. It's there for sure. Reflections were the worst part of the game's image quality on PS5 and depending on the scene, they can look like just noise. Why do you think the shimmering is not present on OG PS5?
This is why I keep stopping myself from buying a Pro, I keep reading about issues with even non Pro games and minor boosts to performance etc. I want to get one but I feel I’ll be annoyed that some games look worse on the Pro than on regular ps5, like silent hill 2.I tested cyberpunk yesterday. I know, that's why I'm confused some people think it's because of the Pro. Shimmer has been present on a lot of PS5 games. I didn't play Cyberpunk because of it's bad IQ since they introduced FSR2, was waiting on the Pro update, now they said they won't do it I might have to play it on base lolIt's there for sure. Reflections aside in some situations, it really doesn't look that bad. FSR2 might not be ideal, but the base resolution is high enough for the image quality to be pretty decent. I've spent over 70 hours and I don't really mind it. I've also played on PC with all the bells and whistles and I still think the PS5 version looks "fine" for the most part.I know, that's why I'm confused some people think it's because of the Pro. I wouldn't be so sure. It apparently causes premature balding.FFVII Rebirth
I don't believe so. I'd maybe check the PSVR subreddit.I ask again... Is RE Village's VR mode also enhanced?
Guys. Is Quality mode for Silent Hill 2 on the pro running at 60fps?
It says 60fps on my LG Oled game bar but I'm not too sure.
That's what puzzled me with Uncharted Legacy of Thieves. Usually the VRR information on the LG TV gets accurate readings above 48, but with Uncharted it stays glued to 118.xx even when it is clearly above 48. Do you know what's happening in this case?Yes, that's how LFC always works.
Within VRR window - it does nothing. Outside (below 48/40) - driver presents each frame twice.
Thanks. No wonder it feels so sluggish despite the 60 fps counter on the game bar.30fps. Performance mode has less issues right now on pro, not to mention 2x performance.
How are the areas that dropped into the high 30s on base ps5? They were fine on Series X. Wondering if it was fixed.I've been playing some Space Marine 2 and I've been really impressed. I've finished it on a decent PC and the experience is very close all things considered. It looks a little on the soft side, but that's the game's presentation mostly. The dynamic res is probably much higher than the base machine and doesn't look much worse than 1440p DLSS quality that I've played. I image it uses the latest FSR version as many of it's telltale issues aren't very apparent unless you go looking for them. Performance is also very stable and remains at 60 or very close to it for the most part. Obviously it's not going to be a perfect 60 throughout the largest battles and set-pieces, but neither it was on my 11600 which is supposedly much better. I think it's great way to play it and I'll go as far as to say that a patch isn't urgently needed here and I'd be more afraid of the devs making things worse in some way.
Haven't reached that part yet unfortunately. My CPU on PC was also struggling so I wouldn't expect miracles here. Probably the worst section in the game in terms of performance. How are the areas that dropped into the high 30s on base ps5? They were fine on Series X. Wondering if it was fixed.
If they really want me to buy kingdom come 2 how about patching in a 60fps on ps5 pro so users can experience the first game properly!! Sad they we are patch begging now!Added Silent Hill 2, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, Warhammer 40,000: Darktide, Off The Grid, Lost Islands, WW1: Isonzo and Morels The Hunt 2
I’ll have to try it, I played hogwarts originally on a series x and picked this up cheap in the sale as I thought people said it was a nice improvement, but pro fidelity w ray tracing and locked 30 is just soooo muddy and uncapped is unplayable, like wtf? This HAS to be my most disappointing so far (own outlaws, Jedi survivor on Xbox series and not rebuying) there is lots of texture loading/popin etc this engine must be absolute crap or heavily cpu reliant to not scale even with a patch, and I only have a 1080p tv, there is no excuse for this given they patched itHogwarts is a big improvement for Performance mode. Fidelity mode maybe not so much, but 60 fps mode looks razor sharp now. It's a great Pro port.
One of the games I was excited to try the PS4 Game Boost on was Just Cause 3. Holy shit, what a mess. Half of the terrains don't even render properly. This is why I keep stopping myself from buying a Pro, I keep reading about issues with even non Pro games and minor boosts to performance etc. I want to get one but I feel I’ll be annoyed that some games look worse on the Pro than on regular ps5, like silent hill 2.
Exactly ...don't get me wrong I do miss not having proper 120fps (it's a weird TV I can get 40 fps modes but the blacks are always crushed) but for people to say there's no point in getting the Pro unless you have 120hz is ridiculousI think the C9 is when LG added support for hdmi 2.1 for 4k 120hz the C8 is definitely still awesome though because of the oled panel I doubt you're missing much
Man if only the PS4 boost was a little bit better ...it helps sharpening up some games but it's not much of a difference really ...some games I noticed a positive change are- Bloodborne, Arkham Knight, Watch Dogs 1, AC Unity while others I couldn't tell like DA InquisitionOne of the games I was excited to try the PS4 Game Boost on was Just Cause 3. I'm hoping Sony can continue to improve this but not holding my breath
It's BS that they removed the Quality mode and left us with only one mode that doesn't reach Quality mode visuals ...i havn't tested it on Pro as i only played on SX via Ubisoft + but Quality looked great and had RT reflections.I’m impressed with Outlaws on the Pro so far. A much sharper image compared to the base version and seems to be 60 (or within the VRR window in 95% of areas).
Not that I would have used it but it would have been nice if they included a 30fps mode with RT reflections.
I know just referring to the "ps4 boost" feature in settingsIt's not going to work miracles in games not patched for it.
They haven't patched it yet right?I've been playing some Space Marine 2 and I've been really impressed. I've finished it on a decent PC and the experience is very close all things considered. Excellent my next game after I finish Zelda echosHogwarts is a big improvement for Performance mode. Fidelity mode maybe not so much, but 60 fps mode looks razor sharp now. It's a great Pro port.
Yes ...aside from the obvious Sony games and Stellar Blade, if you're ok with 30 fps Alan Wake 2 and Jedi Survivor are both looking better than the base PS5. Especially Jedi Survivor which is getting shit on here. It seriously looks amazing in Quality mode. Callisto Protocol is very impressive. Many non patched games have had nice dynamic res increases and are looking and running better now like Cyberpunk which i was pleasantly surprised to see looking so nice. With all these issues with PSSR and botched game updates, are there even any games left that are impressive to play on PS5 Pro?

Couple of grabs from Observer: System Redux (PS+). Ray tracing, HDR, 60 fps and dinamic resolution pushing to 4K on the Pro.
One of the most disturbing and mind fucked games I've ever played. And I've played a lot of them. So if you're waiting for a proper SH2 patch, this Bloober's game is a must play.
Performance is good and it looks sharp and detailed enough. But what's the point if tons of light sources cause constant texture flickering and horrendous shimmering. At times the textures on some objects like trees and other surfaces and plants are constantly turning/changing on and off. There can also be disco like effects happening to do with lighting on objects and around them. Its horrendous. Its so bad I've shelved the game. Its got some serious graphically bugs that need fixing.I’m impressed with Outlaws on the Pro so far. I do think if they can fix those glaring bugs, it will look very good.
