Marvel vs. Capcom Infinite |OT| When's DBZ Fighters?

Speaking more on DBF, and depending how later today goes for Marvel.... I think Bandai Namco and ASW should run with it and make it an all out Mahvel game. I'm talking about speeding up the Guilty Gear pacing, adding assists... the works.

EDIT: They should use this "Hurr Hurr The Real Mahvel" talk to make their game a K.O.

It's a new golden-age.

Injustice 2
Tekken 7
DBZ F
Marvel Infinite
FF DIssidia NT
Gundam whatever (don't follow this one)
Street Fighter 5
Guilty Gear Rev 2
King of Fighters 14
ARMS
Pokken Deluxe
Undernight Inbirth ST
Killer Instinct
MKXL

All the little girl anime fighters I don't care about, but exist, so people must.

I can't hold all these fighters. It's amazing.

My man, you gotta give Gundam a try. If you got eyes on ARMS and Dissidia, then you owe it to yourself to check out one of the leaders in that subgenre of fighters.

Either way...this is such a marvelous list. And with the kind variety and new IPs to the list to make it extra nice.

The bolded are what I expect to be at EVO 2018 (I underlined KoFXIV as a maybe depending on how this year goes). There's also the rumored Smash 4 Deluxe to consider.

Taking CoC as an example to simplify the controls is just dumb IMO.

Also, Ono having Wolverine in that shirt could mean something... yep, I'm still on denial lol

They got the gameplay.
They got the brand.
Not all of the FGC play Marvel, but all of the FGC loves DBZ.
ACW does good on their game modes.
.......

DB F has home run written all over it

Great post! It is the new-golden age indeed. Let the literal wifu wars fight it out!

To make my earlier post explicit: Given the success of Contest of Champtions, it's very likely that Marvel pushed for gameplay simplification and Capcom played ball.

Yeah, that was PR speak. The most brutal aspect of Marvel when it comes to new players is that assists allow a good player to completely lock down a worse player. It's not that the ToD combos that are the most oppressive, it's being kept in perpetual blockstun by your opponent and their assist without knowing how to get out.

Maybe if they reveal DMC5 Dante
I'm honestly not sure if we'll get a DMC5 reveal at E3. I do think we'll get it eventually this year, but maybe not tonight.

That said, I fully resigned myself to believe the leak, so hopefully Capcom delivers on the gameplay front to compensate for the disappointing launch roster.

Yeah assists were very limiting indeed Capcom
Not saying Im not excited for dragon ball, but I had to watch that video multiple times to even follow the action. Im just afraid that I cant play the game at all. Not only drzgon ball look really fast paced, it also have a shit ton of effects going on screen at once.

I had no problem with Capcom making mvc simpler.

Casuals are gonna eat this up.

I hope this game doesn't go the way of Super DBZ in terms of popularity.
That is the vocal minority. Everybody yesterday ate this game up. Easy Allies, Kinda Funny, Maximillion Dood, NeoGaf, etc... All praised this trailer when they saw it yesterday.

I'm sure it'll make more sense one you get your hands on it.

Just woke up and watched that new DBF gameplay... then I went back and watched some of that MvCI gameplay from April to compare.

I mean, it's not like MvCI looks bad from a gameplay perspective.

Honestly the new DBZ game still looks and probably plays like an Arc System Works game, regardless of the slight MvC influence. Which is fine but I've always preferred Capcom fighters in terms of feel of Arc System Works games. I never feel like the impact in Arc System Works games feels powerful, it always feels like your just hitting 2D cutouts of characters. Regardless the game looks good, but I think people should stop comparing it to MvC, it won't really play like that series IMO.

The direct feed gameplay video does a better job of showing off the action better. It looks rather chaotic in that gif, but is easier to follow in the gameplay. Still flashy though.

Man, just by reading a lot of stuff online, I get the feeling a lot of people just want this game to fail. I feel like the graphics and roster have pretty much driven people to want to see this game get pulverized in hopes of teaching Capcom a lesson.

DBF looking so good just fuels it more. It's pretty unbelievable to read, but Capcom/Marvel have given people way too much ammunition to feel this way.

I really hope this game succeeds and finds a way to get out of this negativity.

The thing is, if this fails it could be the end of the MvC series. People want Capcom to learn a lesson but I bet that the takeaway from Capcom will be to not continue the series.

I think Capcom is just not putting that much money into fighting games anymore... I mean hearing that the CEO or COO or someone high up had a son who works on monster hunter games makes me feel there's a serious case of nepotism going on at Capcom as well... Wait guess son got promoted, probably approving mostly mh game budgets lol... http://m.neogaf.com/showthread.php?t=839006

Why should they be rewarded for fucking up though? That just sends the message that it's okay to do what they are doing.

You'd think they would learn their lesson after messing up a mainline SF but nope.
