Like you say its fucking obvious to you me and the gatepost. Just make great games and experiences you cant have anywhere else and everything will be fine.

Oh and dont give your games away for next to fuck all lol.
Yeah. As said in a Switch 2 thread, I want that console simply because that’s the only way to play Nintendo’s games. Could be a calculator and I’d still buy it if that’s the only way to play their upcoming Mario, Zelda, Metroid games. It’s really that simple. I’ve thought the original Switch hardware was too weak since the launch. Still have 4 of them in the house.

Halo isn't even relevant anymore. Last one was a Bomba.

Xbox isn't really relevant anyway, this just gives MS lots of extra revenue
This. Halo is not the huge franchise it once was, and it's probably in the worst spot it's ever been in.

Multiplatform is about the only way Halo can get popular again.

This is why I used to say that Microsoft needs to choose if they want to be in the gaming space.

Being a hardware maker means you can't really promote your 3P content on other platforms because you would be slowing adoption of your own.

Being a 3P player means that you have to be actually promoting your ports far and wide to get maximum ROI on your marketing spend. Not doing this dinky shit where you primarily promote for the the dying platform and expect people on other platforms (who are now vast majority of non-PC players btw) to find out about it through telepathy.

Take something like Doom the Dark Ages, great-looking game, available on all possible platforms day 1, but they're expecting PS players to tune into an Xbox-branded show broadcasted on an Xbox channel to know more about it? Insanity.

Most players are normies that don't follow the gaming news in psychotic detail like we do, a PS-only player will not even bother to check out an Xbox show, and vice-versa.

The two parts of Microsoft Gaming are clearly at odds with each other, and it's gonna create problems down the line because the ABK boost to their revenue numbers will soon be over, it's gonna become part of the baseline for YOY comparisons starting from next quarter, and we're gonna see whether the MS Gaming team has been sinking or swimming.

Yeah totally agree. Its like they're caught between what they want to do now. They want to make money today but also be able to walk it all back if / when cloud displaces the traditional market.

I mean Sega just yanked the band-aid off, took the pain and managed to keep going - but Sega didn't have the cash to do anything else. MS have the money to grind out their gradual decline for pride's sake or whatever, but that's rarely the best business strategy.

I guess they don't really trust Gamepass to actually be a viable platform going forward - if they did, they'd just take all their content GP exclusive, but they know on some level the market won't accept that.

It still won't be popular though, unless they make a good Halo game.

If the core long-term nostalgic Halo fans couldn't make Halo popular again, how would PlayStation fans (who have never played a Halo game and have no emotional association with it) would make it popular.

What a weird sentence. Was he thinking while speaking? He could've just said, 'Both Flight Simulator and Halo: The Master Chief Collection will come to PS5 and Switch 2.' The repetition feels so unnecessary

I agree, yet there are people on this forum who have said they will buy it. I don't get it.
They have millions of Xbox fans that have Years old accounts with hundreds of games and movies, dlc, etc. MS will probably always have some kind of Xbox available until everything inevitably goes streaming with no hardware.
Its not like with Sega where the hardware was just a box to play plug in games, Xbox and Playstation are whole ecosystems where people have tons of bought stuff and game library's etc. Plus stuff likre Gamepass needs hardware, at least at the moment.

How difficult would it be to make this all available on PC?

No? Why?

Man the shitting on Xbox is really annoying here. And I don't even OWN an Xbox console. I'm a PC user who enjoys their games on PC, and I have a PS5.

I don't want to see MS exit the console business and let Sony decide the costs for subs, accessories, games & consoles.
This has nothing to do with shitting on Xbox.
With Microsofts 3rd Party road ahead it doesnt make sense to still call this Xbox.
Its Microsoft Gaming. I also wouldnt be suprised if Microsoft regrets the Microsoft Game Studios into Xbox Game Studios.
They dont care about the console anymore regardless what hardcore Fanboys claim.
Hell the recent stock situation is another big indication.
If there is another Box coming, it wont sell. Same with the Handheld.
More and more devs will skip Xbox Hardware.

Very difficult because you have to get permission from every single publisher to allow their users to transfer their Xbox license into a PC license. The publisher would have no incentive to do that and because it's Microsoft asking they'd probably ask for a large payout just to do it.

One suggestion that someone has mentioned is having Xbox virtualized on a PC machine to get around this. Not sure that is a workaround that is legal but maybe it is.

Why would that happen? The PlayStation won't be the only device that plays video games.

The Switch 2, Steam Deck (as well as other handheld PCs) and actual PCs are all competitors to Sony because all of them are competing for a person's gaming time.

Microsoft are also making new hardware, but their priorities have changed. They'll make Xbox hardware, but a vast majority of their games will be on other devices. It makes sense for them as they'll make more money that way.

Anyway. You never know. Somebody else might enter the console business.

Is this true?
It's extremely unstable. It targets 60 but it's all over the place when moving the camera. The 2022 version is totally unstable as well.

Try for yourself it's om GamePass. You can easily find a lot of threads about this subject on Reddit.

Ok. Let me go buy a Series S even though I already own an X and let me sign back up to GamePass even though I have zero interest.

Halo MCC coming to PS5 instead of Shitfinite is very surprising and also very welcome.

I'm sure that would come too. They aren't moving everything all at once.

Although, I do expect future releases to be day one. Indiana Jones would have been, but by the time they changed direction, it was too late to get the PS5 version ready by release date. Yet, they still proudly announced the PS5 version before the Xbox/PC release.

Is my most played game right now, after the patches is in a good state.
That's funny since there are a LOT of complaints about performance. I run a C2, 1000mbit connection and Series X and did free flight in a lot of locations and in all cases, when turning the camera, the framerate goes into unstable territory. I can only think of the difference in performance as a cloud issue so that would mean my network has issues. But there are so many complaints..

Can You Imagine What SureAI Is Going To Do With Garfield?
Hopefully if they release MCC on PS5, they can put all six games (Halo 1-4, Reach, ODST) on one dick.
