RDNA2 architecture and features should still offer the same performance gains on 7nm and 7nm+ assuming the same 12TF number (the same clock). On PC market however AMD will probably use 7nm+ just to OC their cards to the extreme.I have heard many times that they both agreed with amd to call rdna1.9 , rdna2. Meaning they r both still on 7nm but with all rdna 2 features . Let’s see how that unfolds

Some say he hasn't posted much for Xbox convos, but what is to say? They reiterated their specs, many of which we had a general idea of, some of which we were stunned to see confirmed to even exist in a console.
All that is really left for MS is to step up to the plate with software to make those numbers more amazing than they already are and come in with a price for this cutting edge technology that isn't absurd.
We could be heading for a major economical impact from this virus(it has already started), so anything above $499 could be market suicide.
I really enjoy Microsoft's new stance, but the reality is they need a bit more than the Tried and True Three(Gears, Forza, Halo) this time around I think. Thus, judging by Osiris' hints, they will deliver just that in the upcoming generation.

true but 7nm EUV is abit smaller per CU and run 15% cooler.so they can fit more CU on the card while keeping temperature relatively manageable. but these issues are for 80 CU amd PC cards to overcome with 7nm EUV

People are forgetting that yeah the numbers are cool, 12Tf RDNA 2, 3, or even 5 it doesn't matter, it's all just numbers on paper. We want to see how these consoles actually perform in real life. I'm tired of people talking about TF when Tf means shit without other components like the SSD, RAM & CPU etc...

Which again suggests that if that was a target it wouldn’t be rdna but gcn, and that no insider quoting under 12 is wrong, but also no insider quoting over 12 is wrong either.
There's yet another really simple explanation for the early 12.8/13TF dev kit leaks - that's the most powerful card they could get at the time - (and doesn't have a lot of bearing on final hardware after all)
..they were running Vega64s or RadeonVIIs - nothing more to it than that ..

There are probably only two realistic explanations for Sony's silence so far.
A) The ps5 is also 12tf but they want to continue to sell as many Playstation 4 consoles and their new AAA titles this year as they can before the ps5 is available. They might be worried the ps5 is going to be too expensive and will have a slow adoption rate and they dont want to lose more hardware sales momentum this year.
B) The ps5 is actually 9tf so they are currently doing everything they can to make it look appealing with awesome new game trailers and tech demos. If there is a power gap they will have to rely on great looking games to offset the casual perception of 9 vs 12 or even 10 or 11 vs 12tf.

In terms of raw performance, yes. But software always beats hardware, that’s why my switch has been used a shit load.
As for “many people talking about this without knowing” comment, I would like to think that with all my years in game development, including having stuff in released indie and retail titles (hell, nvidia sent me a 2080ti recently for my work on quake 2 rtx), over multiple engines, with thousands upon thousands of assets created, shaders written and the like, I would kinda qualify as at least knowing a bit about how it all fits together in terms of “the puzzle”. I mean I talk to people close to the heart of these new consoles on a sometimes daily basis, and while I haven’t got much of anything out of them, I’ve said what I can. Sorry if that doesn’t line up with what you want though.
So let’s get back on track with discussing stuff rather than bickering. ❤

C) They have a plan about how and when they want to market the PS5 and it's not reactive to MS letting information out.
It's possible they had already planned something for this month and it got changed due to corona virus too. Either way this far out there is no need to say something just because MS has. Plenty of time to get information out there prior to launch at their own pace and plan. It's still 8 or 9 months away. No one is going to change their buying decision based on Sony announcing info now and Sony announcing in a couple of weeks or even months.

Huh, interesting. I basically tuned them out so I wouldn't have known that unless you told me. From what I've been hearing, JayTechTV (a PS fanboy) has been among the most zealous fanboys recently. Like he would do livestreams for several hours worshiping PS, lmao.
But even then, that's the only PS fanboy I know who has a following on Twitter/Youtube while I can easily name more than one Xbox fanboy from Twitter/Youtube.

well when the consoles this cycle will be identical in every way except tflops, tflops become the defining factor.
these consoles will have an identical cpu, ram setup, and relatively indistinguishable SSD’s. PS5 could potentially have a faster ssd but we are talking milliseconds of differences.

If we were a few months away from release then yes, negative perception needs to be controlled, but if you feel you have everything under control, and you are confident in your product, then there is no need to be so reactive to the announcements of your competitors. Why spoil the impact of something you have planned just because MS have said something 10 months before release?

Because Microsoft's strategy is clearly to release every 2-4 weeks some more information about their business (Xbox hardwares, games or services). Doing that keeps you in the media every time again and again which is smart marketing wise, you're on the top of gamers minds.
Sony can have 1 single event where they release everything, but then what you released must also be new and innovative. If the PS5 has nothing new that we already know, then you have just been silent the whole time for nothing, and after the event everyone will keep saying: "Oh but Microsoft already has this, they said it in February. Sony late to the party."
Personally I think they should give us something (event date) in the following weeks, otherwise it's only going to get worse and worse.
