Little did VFX know that internet existsWhy create a new Pro model if PS5 is BC (with, I hope Boost mode for PS4 Pro games)
That don't make sense.

I know that he was a journalist. Just wanted to point out that this Marlon knows him apparentlyWell a lot of people knows him.
He is the former Gamefan and after EGM editor.

The big smile on left.
Wired is really big in US.I find it weird Sony does PS5 articles with Wired. You’d think it would be widespread news across game sites or if they had to pick one, choose a dedicated game site.
it would be like Coke coming out with a new flavour and instead of getting Walmart or a huge grocery chain to plug it, they instead choose a gas station.
Sarcasm. That is the keyword hereThe architect of the PS5 is lying then? Is that what you believe? Even though it’s been confirmed multiple times lol!
Just because the Github leak didn’t show anything RT related lolll!??
I must say that buying XSX makes A LOT more sense than buying/building a PC for gaming. Spending like $3000+ to beat XSX doesn't make sense if the main purpose is gaming. If you're using your PC for some other work then PC is a sensible choice. Both consoles buys day one even if priced at $600 each will make a lot more sense than dedication for a gaming PC. If big navi is as cheap as $1000 with 80 CU's then PC gaming with such card should be superior to XSX. 2080ti with current hardware well barely keep up with XSX and its 11GB might tank compared to consoles utilizing 16-24GB of Vram. Resident Evil 2 remake already uses 15-16GB of Vram.

You should mark our resident PC master race zealot, would be entertaining and far better than the never ending cycle of GitHub this or that.

not a chance in hell we get a 14TF machine this year.
Rumors about Sony releasing two consoles going around

New PS5 Leak Claims Sony is Developing Two Different Console Versions
A leaker claims that Sony doesn't just have one PlayStation 5 console in development, but rather two, including a more powerful console.gamerant.com
Check out my line or argumentation about this rumor. I think the whole 9.2 TF/36CU Github leaks thing could make sense
Actually if you take into account efficiency of RDNA then 12 tflops would be the same 8X jump that we saw PS4 receive when it came to GPU. Your calculation is not taking RDNA vs GCN efficiency into account. On the CPU it will be far greater upgrade as the CPU on PS3 was superior to that of the PS4.My bet still is 12.3, but if Sony wants to do a equivalent jump to ps3 to ps4... 14.5 is the number.

Klee bingoed 64CUs and 1475MH post, which is obviously not true, but I can see people here not wanting to talk about all the damn misses these insiders had and concentrate on things that are yet to be confirmed.
Think like this, is MS really stupid enough to literally post TF definition on their official twitter, knowing full well Sony can announce specs and system the very same day and make them look like absolute idiots?
I think if they knew they had less TF, they would not put it front and center of their PR message. Nor would they post SOC pictures right before Sonys CES press conference and go on about "power power" everytime they talk about XSX. Because, if power is their best selling point, what happens if Sony has more power?
there were arch efficiencies when going from the shitty rsx to gcn 1.0 as well you know.Actually it you take into account efficiency of RDNA then 12 tflops would be the same 8X jump that we saw PS4 receive when it came to GPU. I agree with that... arch improvements will always exists with new chips.there were arch efficiencies when going from the shitty rsx to gcn 1.0 as well you know.
no one gives a shit about arch improvements. phil didnt. 2x meant 12 after all.
just stop bring up arch efficiencies. they are taken for granted. just like they did when we went from 1.84 tflops to 4.2 tflops. no one said oh but polaris is actualy 25% more efficient per flop so its actually 6 tflops.
no one.

If they released a pro model at release like what Microsoft is doing, then it wouldn't be an issue. You'd have way more 12tf Pro PS5s bought than the original PS4 Pro since it wouldn't be a mid-gen release.
So now there's rumors of 2 skus and one of a reveal Monday lol. This shit is running circus at this point.

I agree with you for sure. I just finished reading the 'AMD RDNA NAVI white paper', and I was left fairly impressed with all the performance and efficiency enhancements that RDNA NAVI offers. Those performance and efficiency enhancements are substantial over VEGA 64 and POLARIS. Here is just one of the statements from the paper on the Radeon RX 5700 Family. My own personal opinion is sitting somewhere between Github/DF and Heisenberg/Odium on this. You can get 10.24 with the current Oberon stepping, and the fact the CPUs are mobile(laptop) variants gives more room for TDP budget for the APU. So technically they could push even higher, say, to 2.1GHz, for 10.75 or maybe even a bit higher than that to hit 11, all on the same Oberon stepping (E0) with all 40 units turned on. But, that'd probably see a somewhat lower CPU clock, compared to wherever XSX's CPU clock is at. And yes, 2.1GHz is well outside sweetspot area, but combined with good cooling and a lower-demanding CPU I think it could be at least doable.
But I'd feel uneasy with that approach honestly, and would rather want a bigger chip. Unfortunately nothing tied to PS5 has emerged yet fitting that criteria, and if it did it would probably be a newer Oberon stepping or maybe a chip revision. There's still some time for it to happen, but the window of opportunity is closing.
I think a lot of people are only feeling 9.2 as a disappointment because of direct relation to other numbers, particularly 12. But they don't understand how much of a leap 9.2TF RDNA1/RDNA2 Navi actually is compared to 1.84TF GCN. It's over a 6x increase, effectively. And they definitely don't seem to understand how big a leap Zen 2 is over Jaguar, or a 512 GB/s memory bus is over 176 GB/s on older memory architecture, etc. And they definitely don't understand what a giant leap a 4 - 6 GB/s custom SSD drive interfaced as a memory-mapped cache (similar to SSG cards) is over the pathetic mechanical HDDs current-gen has been built around that couldn't even break 100 MB/s.
It's about the full picture, not just teraflops.
There won't be a slim version of anything for the abysmally small market of a late gen. It costs dozens of millions to do a die shrink. He'll, 7nm is at least 50 % more expensive than 16 nm, so you'd have savings of only 25 % per APU or less than 10 % per console. Which doesn't even allow for a $50 price cut.I was talking about a 7nm PS4Pro slim for phasing out PS4.
So now we’re going between 9.2 TF with no RT to 14 TF and back, and forth? WTF?
Back, back and forth and forthUgh this back and forth is literally tearing me apart.

This was rumored way before the PC master race promoter said it.There is no 2 sku, vfx made that shit up.

How recent of a timeline, are those comments?Just so you guys know, someone from ResetEra compiled what Jason Schreier said about both consoles to this day, now the XSX specs turned out to be right, now we just wait for PS5 specs to come out (which I think he will be right again so PS5 = around 12 TFs).

From March 2019 after Google Stadia's reveal until January 2020 when he said "I told y'all.......".How recent of a timeline, are those comments?
100% sure Sony will not just reveal the console without telling people when it's going to happen first.I believe that March 3rd will bring some gaming news. Not sure that it will bring next gen news
12+ tflops has been in more leaks than 9.2, dont let the fact some flat earthers keep regurgitating it fool you. What do you think PS5 specs are likely gonna be?
I'm going for 9.2 or 8 TF, those numbers kept coming back in the leaks. for Xbox the number 12 kept coming back in the rumours and it ended being the number for the console.
Well, well, well, well..... I'd say both, but the first it's more likely: Console games, are too advanced on the optimization side.

The chief one among them stated neither console would have hardware raytracing amongst other things already proven wrong.
Hes desperate to get his final jobs in before he requests a self ban when all insiders are proven correct when the consoles are close and his 9.2tf dream is officially dead.
