Cores, shaders and BIOS oh my!
Because of the joycon design. Second player needs those 4 buttons too
They could use the d-pad as buttons probably much more successfully than the buttons are used as a d-pad though. Probably just a symmetry thing. Sadly.

Oh well, learned to deal with shitty d-pad designs since Sega left the hardware business anyway (and their last effort was a miss too but at least they recognize Saturn d-pad's worth and made other console/USB versions etc.).

But you could press two different directions like left and right at the same time with one joycon and not with the other.
Oh... Right. I missed that, lol. Didn't think anyone would play fighting games like that which are more likely to need a combination like B + X or A + Y but I suppose they do.

As long as there is physical games, that's all I care about.

I'm curious how they manage physical games with Switch 2. Nintendo/game publishers ain't taking the financial hit of 64GB cartridges imo...they don't even want to do it with 32GB cartridges on Switch OG. The consumer will either through higher prices or will still have to download a lot of the game regardless.

If these turn out to be real as they are, it would be a huge mistake not to include the big number 2 to differentiate it.

People will definitely think it’s just another special edition or revision, not a new console.

I’m just waiting for the unboxing any time now. At this rate, this has to happen before the announcement.

Without physical games I wouldn't touch the switch 2 or any other console for that matter with my dead mothers decaying arm!

I want to see the dock, the game cases (which color will they use?), and the new official pro controller. Also launch games would be nice…Super Mario Galaxy 3!!!

Not saying there won't be physical games...just that I'm skeptical 64GB cartridges will be used. There are only a handful of games on Switch OG that even use a 32Gb cartridge.

This is mostly due to aversion to the costs eating in to profit margins. That aversion ain't going to go away with Switch 2...so it will be interesting what happens when you have PS4 era ports.

Could be downloading a lot of the game regardless...

THIS IS IT, physical proponents (such as myself). Sony and Microsoft are pushing their customers further and further away from physical. If this is physical (AND backwards compatible with Switch software), this will be the hill we likely die on.

It is? Backwards compatibility is about the only thing Nintendo did confirm months ago.
