"Official" Switch 2 render leaks

GoldenEye98

posts news as their odd job
I get that being bigger means a better screen, bigger more comfortable joycon, and more space inside to pack components. I still wish it was smaller, not bigger. The closer we get to a Switch Lite with TV out, the happier I'll be.

Weight is the more the more important factor imo.

Why is a mess? Is all about the games, leaks keep people talking about the Switch 2 every single day, is the same situation as the new iphone every year, free marketing.
This. And also: this isn't Nintendo's first product announcement and launch. Some people act like Nintendo's marketing departments are full of retards. They most likely knew that this was going to happen and determined that this is a good way of generating hype for free and/or their own marketing and launch plans won't be affected by these leaks.

True, true. But if the leaks include false information, and reality is worse (e.g. leak says 1080p screen, everybody believes it, but reality is 720p) then the actual announcement by Nintendo will be a net negative. People will create a shitstorm about the 720p screen panel, simply because of the insane amount of leaks. The balance Nintendo needs to strike between countering leaks, making an official statement and announcing the entire thing is razor thin.

People are going to create a shit storm no matter what… Look at the iphone, leaks are crazy and with tons of fake info, at the end of the day Apple is going to have the attention they want, i am pretty sure that the Switch 2 reveal trailer is going to do some crazy numbers and if Nintendo shows Mario Kart 9 or a new Mario 3D, the hardware design or specs are nothing. Games and Price is more important.

I'm almost not interested by another all black system. I would like them to celebrate their history and makes it Gameboy grey and red or atomic purple for people who want anything but black or white.

Edit: releasing a depressing black or white console only for then announcing limited colored accessories to finally make your console fun is such a greedy fucking practice. They're making colors a luxury, what a bunch of elitist maniacs.

They usually have all different colors of joycon which is the main way to change the appearance of a Switch system. Even their special systems are usually a plain black Switch with a unique dock and/or joycon.

Switch 1 shipped with both a red and blue controller in the box day one. I wouldn't say they're gatekeeping fun in controllers.

This actually looks really good. Also excited that they might just be doing accents versus the entire joy cons being colored.

i need a white model so it ties in with my setup . :lollipop_beaming_smiling: hopefully we have white and black models to start with they can add the crazy colours later .
This though. Most of my setup is all white outside of my PS5 Pro (couldn't get the 30th so I just got a skin and plates from Aliexpress to get the same look). Even the PS3 I generally keep hooked up is white (FFXIII model).

Yeah funny Gif, but i don't like playing those games on small screens. So it's a waste for me. They already did the oposite with the Switch Lite, so why not docking only?
Asking for a screenless, dock-only Switch 2 defeats the purpose of the device. The Switch is primarily a portable, with its hybrid nature being a key draw. Removing the screen offers minimal cost savings and turns it into a standard home console, a market already dominated by PlayStation and Xbox.

The Lite already destroyed the 2 in 1 purpose. Most people i know use it stationary only includidng 2 families with kids so the primary purpose is up to the owners. No idea how expensive those screens are, but 50 Euro less would already be enough for me.

The Lite made sense because, again, it's primarily a portable console.

I mean, it looks fine. I was hoping for actual comfortable larger joycons like take the switch pro controller and split it in half. These tiny shitty joycons are ergonomically uncomfortable.

Leaks are now marketing.
Look at nvidia. Faked higher prices and now everyone is happy.
Switch 2 doesn’t look very exciting does it ?

It is to me.

A more powerful Switch that's backwards compatible with the OG Switch and has more internal Storage.

We also haven't seen this baby running. It might have some new features that make it exciting for the plebs.

It looks like DS to DS lite update in terms of style. I like it.
LOLWAT? I couldn't even pick this thing out of a lineup with a Switch and Switch OLED, it looks exactly the same. Dangerously so, like Wii U levels of potential consumer confusion.

I mean, the DS and DSlite look similar but the DSlite is sleeker, more refined and has a matte color scheme. And it seems to be the case here as well.

Never say never, if we can play the games on the tv and uses the switch for the lower screen maybe we will get 3ds and ds games on switch online .

i have been wanting to pick up a 3ds latey for ocarina and majoras mask and some metroid but not at the crazy prices and not the condition most of them are on the bay.
