I have a 4080. Not sure if a 5080 would be an upgrade. It still having 16GB is a kick in the nuts. Yes the memory is faster but this card should have 20GB at least. Ideally 24GB. Maybe they'll do that with the inevitable 5080 Super in 2026 lol.

A 5090 would be nice but I am dreading the price. Also, I'd need to buy a new PSU as I am not sure 1000W is going to be enough.
Yeah, 5080 Super/Ti next year would be best bet. That should have 24GB based on new 3Gb chips.

If thats real, the previous leak from an Aussie retailer from Vex may be legit. Only several hours to go now.

Fucking hell though. Again with the insane prices.
Yep, I already was planning to lost likely wait for 5080 Super, but this just makes it even more likely.

I love low quality pictures in 2025.

That's ~1640,44 USD
That's ~1,573 GBP (including 20% tax). They'll probably round it up to £1,599 :messenger_fearful: :messenger_fearful: :messenger_fearful: :messenger_fearful: :messenger_fearful: :messenger_fearful:

my 4080 hasn't let me down so i can wait and i won't mind moving to mid cycle (not that i will want to upgrade every gen). if not i'll jump on the 6000 series.

Yeah at that price I'd expect 20GB+.. probably better off waiting for the refresh. $1500+ for a 80 class in insanity though. Hopefully just placeholder prices.

Whats low quality about it?

Ridiculous prices by the way, im on a 3070 and not really looking to upgrade anytime soon

I'm not sure if I see Ai artifacts or not. Almost everyone has high resolution cameras in their phones. Yet we still see pictures like this.

China has 13% tax BTW. It will be less than 1600$.

I dont understand what you mean. The picture isnt low quality at all. Its just a screengrab, of a picture that has been uploaded and compressed. 🤷‍♂️

I'll buy a 5080 in February. If the price is completely out of control I might settle for a 70.
Anything is better than the 1080 I have now.

I have upgraded from GTX1080 to a RTX4080S and I saw 4x RAW performance increase in raster, but DLSS and FG takes it to a new level, so in practice I get about 10x more fps. Even if you buy the 5070 you will be shocked coming from a GTX1080.

Along with the already crazy price of that 5080, aren't the GPU prices going to increase significantly with Trumps new tariffs?

My Final predictions on Raster
5090 - 60-65% over 4090
5080 - 10% over 4090
5070TI - 15 % over 4080
5070 = 5% 4070Ti super
5060TI = 4070 super
5060 = 4070

Last time I bought a card (3090 Founder's Edition) I had to buy a pre-built just to get one because of stock issues. Hopefully that isn't the case this time. I don't really like Alienware cases. But Dell always has a guaranteed stock of cards coming to them...Any other pre-builts of equivalent or better value with solid warranties? I think IbuyPower's cases are ugly too. RGB is LGBT. I need something quiet (and it has to be a 5090 lol) because it will double as my recording studio pc. I run the cabling through a wall, but when the 3090 spins up I can still hear the whine, so I either have to mess with the fan curve or shut every application down.

My god, I am so lucky I do not partake into annual dick wiggling of who has more pixels in some benchmark test. You do you GAF.
More than 2 years since the 4090 was released bud.

And yes you can buy a ps5 pro console and call it a day. That’s the main advantage of owning a console.

Sure you get fucked with games 2x more expensive than PC games ( speaking of old games specifically where you can buy them for few bucks on PC vs outrages prices on Sony store )

Oh and you have to pay to play online but to be fair, less cheating on consoles.

It’s kinda give or take really.

FF7 Rebirth recommends 16gb for 4K Ultra which means if you buy the 5080 then you have enough for now but really no wiggle room for the future
oof... I don't think that card is going to sell well

That's why I play on Steam Deck and sold my PS5. Agreed on the prices and paid online, fuck that.

Yeah, 5070Ti or 5090 seem to be the cards that make sense. 5080 is ridiculous and doubly so at leaked pricing.

I would have purchased the 5080 if it had 20GB RAM, but no - NVIDIA gonna be NVIDIA.

I genuinely hope the 5000 series bombs hard. They need to be taught a lesson.
Depends on the price/ performance It’s always depending on the price . If 5080 is same or performance as 4090 but for 1200$ instead of 1600$ the 4090 was . Then how it will fail ? 16 gig is still more than enough for the next 3 years of gaming at 4k ( I don’t see any game that is requiring more than that for now at least )

I don’t see publishers/ devs pushing for more than 16 gigs max anyway for now as the market for that is super slim.

To me at least. The name of the card does not associate with the price . Having a 5080 for example that beats a 4090 is not a high mid range card like the 3080 was when it was for released.

Even the 4080 beating the highest AMD can offer isn’t considered a mid range card .

Ideally I want the cards to be dirt cheap but seeing AMD tapping out . That is sadly not gonna happen and we need to vote with wallet. If price to performance is outrages , then we shouldn’t buy it.

But who are we lying to ? It will most likely be sold out for months

No chance the 5080 is going to beat the 4090.

I can't even contemplate dropping 2k on a card, loading up a game, turning everything to Ultra and then seeing summat like this

These prices should have GPUs that heal code

Or the promise of new tech but will take 2-3 years to see implemented, if ever.
