So why are the Rusians struggling so badly in this war?

Their massively overrated military and command built on nothing but corruption and lies. They have an incredible amount of weapons (f.ex. they fire ~20 000 artillery shells pr day vs Ukraine's ~5 000), but they're fighting against a professional army (fighting for their country) with quality western weapons. I mean, what the fuck kind of value is the average Ruzzian kid in the military fighting for in Ukraine, there's literally nothing.

And of course HIMARS:

This is fast becoming a fucking enormous counter offensive. It doesn’t seem just about retaking some territory. They’re trying to break them completely.
It seems like a complete collapse of the eastern front with the cunts all running for their lives, all those precision strikes have completely broken them. Ive been following a wee Ukrainian blooger on YouTube who posts up translated calls and morale is practically non existent amongst the orc's, they all want out and they all lament the conditions they've been stuck in for months so once they see their commanders jump into cars and fuck off you can bet they've dropped arms and ran.

What's crazy is the speed, the UA are simply powering through town after town, it'd be hilarious if they took the entire DPR & LPR, whose left to defend it?? Those ragtag ww2 equipped conscripts? After seeing how Russia has treated them I'd be surprised if they don't drop arms and beg for forgiveness.

How Putin sells this to the Russian zombies is beyond me, there's no way he's admitting defeat but there's all no way to cover this up

What a day.. I was looking forward to some videogames after a week-long business trip. But of course I've been glued to the news from Ukraine instead.. I'll just go ahead and "blame" Colonel General Oleksandr Syrskyi for this.

Notice the western/ US-style officer uniform. Not a speck of Soviet.

Outgunned, out trained, outperformed.

There will be no nukes.

Also failed cause. Most orcs there fight for money and not for their country. This is not a world war where the whole country is behind you. When this all happened last february it seemed that not even the people at the top of ruZZian military knew they were going to invade in this level. Nothing was prepared. Hell they had vehicles with bad tires of whole columns. It was more like posturing before the actual invasion happened. Orcs operational manual seems to be arty everything and then move forward and secure area. That works if the defending force does not have capabilities to pusk back and you can enforce the sky. At start thats what ruZZia had to some level. Not anymore. And Starlink...ruZZians have to communicate unsecured channels... Ukraine uses Starlink and other systems that are secured. And ruZZia does not know how to use tanks. Its like idiots playing wargames and to add insult to injury their tanks cant take a hit or counter attack western weapons.

And most importantly _everybody_ underestimated the people of Ukraine. They have been genius in tactics and learning to use what have been given to them. Also they have been truly McGyver level people with using everything they already have to use against ruZZia being it drones hacking and social media. And in the end they are fighting for their indepence, identity and actual existence and the future of their children. Thats gonna give a boost like nothing else.

So why are the Rusians struggling so badly in this war?. They have more men and more equipment dont they?. Havent been followin the war past few months, mainly due to the media seemingly losing interest the last few months.
Also anyone think if its gets too bad for Russia, Putin will drop a nuke on some part of Ukraine he doesnt care about?. I mean if it worked with a proudful people like the Japanese, it would surely work here.
In my opinion, the greed and the corruption are the main reasons. In the Soviet Union everyone was poor, so there was a good feeling of egalitarianism. Everyone hated the system itself and the USA in the same time, but in the end they were loyal for the motherland. Today everything is for sale in Rusia since everyone is corrupt to the bone, Putin itself too. Only fools die for that.

Remember watching documentary from Vice when this was happening in 2014 with ruZZias unmarked soldiers. Now today Ukraine is back there. edit: Hopefully not just a rumour

FunkMiller FunkMiller I'm good! I'm on holidays in fact.

I also don't want to post as the situation is ongoing fast, better wait a week or two and see where the lines will be drawn then when the momentum on both sides subsides.

I did say Ukraine and western world have a chance to do everything to get a quick win and it is working out so far, right?
Well I hope you're not in Crimea for the holidays. How fast are the events unfolding, I don't want you to get hurt.

I'd be careful about rumors.

Some of the claims I see in this very thread might be... not so solid, and when it all clears and the picture emerges some people might feel demotivated by the reality.

Just saying.
You mean the rumours showing the Ukrainian flags flying over the recaptured towns deep into orc occupied territories? Those rumours?

Of course! But considering that this morning the fall of Izium was only a wild rumor, now is hard not to anticipate other rumors also to be true/confirmed later too.

I've seen stock photos posted on twitter as proof of liberation.

A good measure of thumb is: ukrainian flag + ukrainian soldiers = liberation.

I dunno what you're looking at but the videos I'm seeing are exactly that, soldiers unfurling flags at said towns, to date the Ukrainians have been pretty upfront about what they claim as for the other cunts, when have you ever known a Russian to tell the truth?

Yup, seems like Russia is fucked, I hope they take it all, including illegally taken land in 2014, and drop some bombs on Russia while they are at it.

Lol I was just replayed modern warfare 2 and was wondering how the whole Russian military traveled across Europe and then crossed the Atlantic and invade the east coast in a sneak attack
Didn't that happen in the homefront series also? Ukrainian atm just changed the difficulty from veteran to recruit. And a bunch of bone headed recruits they are Steam rolling by the looks of it. How long will Russia leave their best soldiers in Kherson? The entire north and east could get steam rolled at this rate.

Kupyansk? sure

Izyum one is outskirts. Maybe they're fighting for the city at this very moment?

And frankly, after months of supporting Ukraine in this thread, I frankly dislike how you're treating me as suspect just because I'm cautioning ya about the avalanche of rumors coming off today.

Remember that concern can sometimes come off as something rather patronizing.

Military specialists in the press have been pretty vocal in cautioning on optimism
Yeah, but posting those stories are fine per se. The issue is contextual. I guess the point is that we're not a bunch of kids in need of protection. We don't need someone telling us to "stop being optimistic!". We're adults, we get it, we all fucking do after all these months where we've had so much bad news in the form of murder, torture, rape, abuse "etc."

Seems this strategy totally wrong footed Russia and has lead to some nice gains.

While this opinion piece cautions Ukraine from going too far and over stretching themselves;

I guess if anyone was unsure of how long it takes to plan the logistics and strategy of a major counter offensive in warfare in the 21st century… it takes this long.
Warfare is half cunning tactics and half logistical support. You can plan the most brilliant counteroffensive and make huge gains, but if you can't effectively supply and reinforce them in a timely manner, your plans will all fall apart. There is soo much to account for in a major offensive that it could make your head spin.

Nope. Not doing that. Just showing that we are getting solid evidence to suggest that the Ukrainian gains are genuine. We've all been in this thread long enough not to believe everything that comes across social media. But what we're seeing today is far beyond just scuttlebutt and disinformation. No offence intended... in fact, cheer along with us. The tide is turning I believe :messenger_beaming:

I do cheer! But for the things I feel are reliable :pie_wfwt:

And yes, today is a good day!

Appears they just ran away in Izyum.

Deleting link, it's a video of Crimea not Izyum.

I question if Russia could actually regroup at this point. They left the armor, and people are running on foot - people who are clearly dispondent and unwilling to fight. It's pretty obvious this is a fighting force that's completely broken and lack the will to fight.

Kherson won't hold long at this point either.

Wow at those images.. Imagine how this must look for the editors at ruzzian state media.. lol

Edit: So this is not images from Izium. Facts are important I guess.

I wonder how many of these groups are now zooming around Russian held territories. Five humvees, 25 guys with some Stingers, Javelins and Starlink phones to just shoot up everyting with a Z on it. Grab fuel from Russian supplies if you get low and go all Rough Riders.

Never underestimate some crazy guys with a heavily armed Jeep.

This is warmonitor3 take on what the map looks like... deepstatemap more or less looks the same except it lists a bunch in the south, izyum included, as no mans land.

(NSFW) Here's a clearer video of that spectacular obliteration of a ruzzian tank a couple of days ago. We've seen quite a few turret-toss videos lately, but have you seen a tank commander fly like this (you can see him partly out the hatch before he became a cosmonaut) ... Holy crap...

hmm 7~ seconds to go up and down.. so thats what.. 180~ feet? any math experts here? lol
