Tens of thousands of their youth dead. Billions in military equipment captured or destroyed. The illusion of Russian military might and dogged bravery is completely and utterly annihilated. Their military leaders embarrassed, disgraced, and in some cases "dismissed". Their diplomatic relations to the rest of the world is essentially non-existent. NATO has actually GROWN. Their economy in shambles. All because Putin is a brutal egomaniac who can't let go of the past.

To be honest I'm surprised he hasn't accidentally fallen out of a window yet.

Many “Whelps”! Handle It!
Remember when this started most everyone assumed the best Ukraine could do is fight Russia to a standstill outside Kyiv, and that was contingent on how much NATO helped?

Here we are months later and not only did Ukraine prevent them from striking too deep, they're now driving Russia out of eastern cities. You love to see it.

And fuck anyone who got banned or had their account closed because they couldn't stand to see the US and the rest of NATO help out Ukraine. If we hadn't we could very well be looking at an emboldened Russia in control of Ukraine and looking at further expansion. Now, instead, is a neutered Russia, revealed as the paper tiger they were.

My takeaway is: fascist cunts might be able to take people by surprise once in a while, but a system based on corruption won’t ever win. Ruskies getting their shit pushed in by the NATO weapons and tactics in the hands of these glorious, fucking hard nosed Ukrainian brothers and sisters is all the proof anyone needs to see. Fuck off fascists, or die in a field of sunflowers.

Slava Ukraini!

(NSFW) Here's a clearer video of that spectacular obliteration of a ruzzian tank a couple of days ago. We've seen quite a few turret-toss videos lately, but have you seen a tank commander fly like this (you can see him partly out the hatch before he became a cosmonaut) ... Holy crap...

Horror aside I am no battlefield expert, but I feel like having a big ass flag on top of your camouflaged tank while trying to hide behind bushes and tress is kind of a bad idea.

I guess it's a measure to avoid friendly fire. Especially since much of the same equipment is also used by the Ukrainians. It's a classic dilemma I'd say. But yeah, in this case it probably worked against them.

Say what you like about the state of the Ruskies' military, but it looks like their new tank ejector seats are a resounding success.

There’s a lot of folks who would have probably been delighted to see Ukraine fall to the Russians, just because they hate the current western governments so much. Sad, but true.

With failure, comes anxious natives.

putin's plan needed to repulse by the Ukrainians, now it's looking like it has been. His whole rule was that of a strong man, now he's looking weak.

A friendly flag can be used as a signal to air support, or occasionally as a victory celebration, this looks like a poorly trained idiot that should be surrendering but for some mind boggling reason aren't

And after The Ukraine, Poland, Finland, Estonia, Lithuania, Latvia, Moldova, Slovakia, Belarus, Hungary, Eastern Germany, maybe even the whole of the Baltic.
Maybe after Putin has reconquered all of the USSR, those folks would be happier.
And the rest of Europe should just stand and accept Putin's megalomania.

I hadn't kept up with this for a few weeks, and it seems like Ukraine could win this. Hilarious and awesome at the same time.

Anyway, I wonder how the Russians are going to spin this as a "great victory?"

It looks like the orcs retreated from kharkiv oblast except east/south of kupyansk, along the river. It's a huge chunk of land.

News are the ukrainians are fighting to take back the rest of the oblast, but orcs are putting a fight. Unknown if they pretend to defend that land or it's just posturing until they complete whatever "strategic retreat" they're doing.

Meanwhile on kherson, rumors are the orcs are falling back on some places. Current speculation is that this is driven due to lack of supplies. Ukraine remains commited to OPSEC on the kherson front, so information is scarce and hardly verifiable.

edit: the kherson info is attributed to "general staff" by TPYXA news.

it's so beautiful to see all this altruism of the Russians military in answering the call against this unjust aggression against Ukraine and helping to transform a infantry brigade into a heavy armored brigade.
#answerthecall

and that is only in one point in one city. Ukraine can assemble a small army with just what was captured in this offensive.

Edit- and Russia's air defense shoot down one of their own Su-34 in Crimea. No panic...

It should be remembered what alternative timeline we could be living in if things had gone well with this invasion - and emboldened China and Russia.

Yeah I was asking myself the same thing this AM. The enormity of this fuckup can’t really be overstated. If Russia is fully routed out of Ukraine then I just don’t foresee Putin living very much longer.

Make them POWS and let hem rebuild the Ukraine. Will be good for them.
As long as the Ukrainians follow the geneva convention rules this would be perfect, like you are absolutely correct the honest pay for honest work might give the aimless Russian men some purpose

Worth considering that given how inaccurate the assessment of the capabilities of the Russian army by the west quite clearly were, there's also a good chance we've over-estimated the capabilities of the Chinese as well. It definitely seems that size of armed force does not in any way correlate to effectiveness of armed force, in modern warfare. I'd imagine there's quite a lot of recalculation going on in the Pentagon about the Chinese ability to wage war - especially given that their army is completely unproven in a combat scenario.

Not only has Putin weakened his own country, he's probably weakened China quite heavily to, by both association and practical comparison.

It all seems very surreal, some villages and cities are deserted , no Russians at all isn’t this weird ? Leaving weapons behind , retreating ? Is Putin letting them retreat and gonna nuke the Ukraine? Just a thought.

That's like the second or third time you mention Puting using nukes.

Don't worry, it's not gonna happen.

He is sadly capable of anything .. it’s not something that I am overly afraid of, but I find it very weird that most Russians seems to just have left so easily. If I was a commander, I would let them retreat and drop heavy stuff.

Clearly he isn't.

Threatened to use nukes if NATO interfered in any way with his operation.
Threatened to use nukes if NATO gave Ukraine weapons.
Didn't use nukes when his forces were routed from Kyiv.
Hasn't used nukes now his forces are being routed from Kharkiv.
Won't use nukes when his forces are routed from Kherson.
Won't use nukes when the Russians are thrown out of Crimea.
Won't use nukes ever, because he's terrified of what would come his way in retaliation.

His army is pathetic. He is pathetic.

He's an empty suit. A bully without the balls. A little chicken who picks on the smaller kids, and runs like a fucking bitch when they fight back.

He hasn't used nukes. He never will. Russia is run by a streak of cowardly dog piss, and he's going to die in a coup.

They didn't "leave easily" - when ukraine first broke through the army ran in panic leaving everything behind. After some time the news reached moscow and they realized they couldn't hold that front anymore with their logistical center taken, so they gave order to fall back.

This is actually smart, unlike what they're doing in kherson. When holding positions is untenable, you fall back and regroup instead of sacrifing units for nothing. Ukraine has done this a lot during the war to preserve forces while inflicting maximum amounts of damage.

I think it's much safer to overestimate the Russian or Chinese threat rather underestimate it and wake up being overpowered by them.
