Uhhh. What can Biden do in a week that can’t be undone?
He’s a Batman villain at this point.

Pretty sure this is fake. I just searched Robert Gibson’s articles on ABC news and this didn’t come up. Also searched Patrisse Cullors and there are no articles about her regarding the wildfires
This is a terrible example and everything that is wrong with X - readers’ context is not about what he is saying. Why is it even there? He should just delete his X account at this point.

Elon Musk spreading misinformation again, I see.He should just delete his X account at this point.
Elon Musk spreading misinformation again, I see.
Newsome may be unpopular but Prop 47 didn't decriminalize theft under $950. Folks should stop spreading that lie.
He's a blatant liar.What an asshole
She's still a liar and a thief. You're right. It's probably satire. Only thing I could find was a statement on her Facebook page that her family is safe but that she was impacted by the fires.
Wow.
It made theft under $950 a misdemeanor. Meaning it's a slap on the wrist to the point where police don't even respond to theft calls if it was under $1000. It's not misinformation, it's fact.
What Changes Did Prop 47 Make to Theft and Drug Crimes in California? | Law Soup Cal
UPDATE DECEMBER 2024: Proposition 47 has been reformed by Proposition 36, which voters passed in the November 2024 election. Proposition 47 was passed by California voters in 2014, reducing penalties for certain nonviolent offenses. It was called the Safe Neighborhoods and Schools Act. In...cal.lawsoup.org
Being a misdemeanor doesn't mean it's a slap on the wrist. It's still on your record when you're arrested. The purpose was to prevent and reduce overcrowding in prisons. Not to make it legal. Especially in the case of theft rings.
Him signing that law in was the worst thing to happen. I don't know if you know this, but in 2023 and in 2024 there were so many STORE takeovers. Some stores had to close because the mass robbery was so bad. Many stores had to lock up their products and you have to ask for someone to unlock the shelves, just to pick up certain things or in some cases, some stores had most products locked up.Being a misdemeanor doesn't mean it's a slap on the wrist. It's still on your record when you're arrested. The purpose was to prevent and reduce overcrowding in prisons. Not to make it legal. Especially in the case of theft rings.
Just because some DAs aren't prosecuting them doesn't take away the fact in other cities they are STILL being prosecuted... Prop 37 is putting it back as a felony ... Which will probably lead to overcrowding.
If you're clearing out a drug store with garbage bags full of shit you stole and you're not going to jail for it, that's legalizing theft.
That law led to a chain effect, leading to more car chases, WAY more chases, especially in 2024... it was nuts. It led to more murders... and get this, many of the criminals were fucking teenagers. A lot of the times when I saw street takeovers; which also skyrocketed in 2023-2024 partially thanks due to tiktok being used as an interactive flier to pinpoint locations to start street takeovers all over California, especially in the Southern parts. The worst of us got emboldened and it lead to al kinds of crimes going up as a result. What made it worse were store policies that forbade employees to confront any shoplifters. The stolen goods are insured anyway, so it was better to avoid the risk of an employee getting hurt. The combination of very, very low chance of being arrested and store employees doing absolutely nothing made it possible for every lowlife to enter a store, fill their bags and walk out uninterrupted. But when crime goes unpunished, people will get more and more convinced that civil society is breaking down.
It won’t be a problem. First time offenders likely won’t get prison time. The problem are the repeat offenders. The most egregious thieves are repeat offenders. And society needs them behind bars.Being a misdemeanor doesn't mean it's a slap on the wrist. It's still on your record when you're arrested. Dude, it's California, is it even legal to remove bushes and trees? I know in Cali, you are not allowed to remove Joshua trees, for example.I wonder if folks should be cutting down trees and bushes in their neighborhoods. Probably can't cart them away but at least on the ground they aren't tall flaming pyres throwing embers into the wind. Are there defensive measures like this?

What also made it worse beyond no action, are ongoing precedents and bad culture. And people wonder why stores leaves certain neighbourhoods. That law led to a chain effect, leading to more car chases, WAY more chases, especially in 2024... it was nuts. Edit: Also, Prostitution is so fucking far up... let's just say in the last 4 years, I've seen more individual hookers on the streets, than all of my life driving through L.A and that goes for Pomona, too. Holt looks like a fucking garbage heap, FFS.

And also on the subject of looting homes during the wildfires, that’s a lot different than stealing from stores, because when you walk into someone’s home and take from it you’re committing other crimes than just theft. Those are more serious offenses.
They are evacuating. Notice the Fire Department on the side, to the left. Idiots are using that video to sow disinformation. Nothing against you. I had the same reaction, till I looked it over, more.
California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) exclusively speaks with NBC News Correspondent Jacob Soboroff as wind-fed wildfires sweep through the Los Angeles area. (1/12/25)
I wasn't referring to that video in reference to the looting. I think there's a lot of misinformation videos out there about looting, but also I do think it is going on. There was a news report yesterday from CBS I think it was where they interviewed a man who opted to stay in his home because groups of looters were coming to the street to loot unburned homes and he had to chase them off. So while many of the stories are fake, not all of them are.
Wouldn't surprise me.Dude, it's California, is it even legal to remove bushes and trees? I know in Cali, you are not allowed to remove Joshua trees, for example.
With the new contract approved, the budget for the fire department in Fiscal Year 2024 - 2025 increased from $819.6 million to $895.6 million. When compared to the previous year's budget (Fiscal Year 2023 - 2024), this current year's fire department budget in total is larger by $58.4 million. According to a document from the city administrative officer, the increase in this year's budget was approved specifically to meet salary and benefit increases included in the new union contract.
I see the ActBlue talking point emails have gone out. No wonder Newsom was fundraising for them off the fires. The last one is a disingenuous bullshit deflection. SoCal used to get water from the north before the Delta Smelt had to be saved.Feel free to fact check

More like this:Feel free to fact check
No fact checking then?
How is it fact checking when it’s using a political talking point ignoring context. The third one is blatantly false and everyone in CA knows it.
This looks like a warzone
I think it has to do with costs and transporting bricks. But I might be wrong. Similar to tornado country. When it destroys a small US town, everything is destroyed to the ground where it hits. A brick home should withstand it better. This looks like a warzone
And I would like to take the chance to ask why you guys in the US only build houses with wood? Instead of bricks?
