On the top end of that wage scale they will earn just above $300 per month while putting their lives in danger every moment!BTW I was astonished to find out that there are currently 400 inmates working as firefighters to put out the flames in LA.
‘Essential’: nearly 400 incarcerated firefighters deployed as LA battles wildfires
The firefighters earn $5.80-$10.24 per day plus $1 an hour when responding to active emergencies, according to CDCRwww.theguardian.com
Don’t get excited, this is California. He’ll get a slap on the wrist and be released in two hours.According to Fox 11 News LA, there is 1 suspect in custody for Arson regarding the Kenneth Fire.

Meanwhile, in fucking Alabama of all places
Wish I could send this shit back west, you guys in California need it way more.
You wonder what the point in taking questions is when there's no intention to answer them.
Should have just put out a statement and got on with doing something productive.
Because she's an idiot who should've never even been on the ballot in the first place. But it's Los Angeles so...
Irrespective of that, the people who organised her appearance and told her what she was doing should have worked out what was going to happen and planned appropriately. Having her not be able to answer questions is bad, but it's also not helpful to anyone, so it seems ridiculous to plan to take questions.
I wonder if people are lighting new fires to try and stay warm in the 60° weather. This might’ve been what started at all.

There was once a time people used to brag about living in California.
Thats how social media works now. Put out 20 completely bullshit 'articles' to the sheep can have their entire search page filled with seemingly 'legit' sources to feed their confirmation bias. I can see this happening to my feeds all the time. There is no concept of "objective, balanced, and factual" reporting anymore.Well, I suspect the writer of that Politico article knows they are lying. The point is to get it out there so people can run cover for this retard.
I think we can focus on her job performance before going after her accent. That type of 'attack' just opens you up to a "you're racist" response and dismissal. IMHO the conversation would be MUCH better if folks stayed on performance topics ONLY and let the DEI stuff go, especially when we have AMPLE evidence of systemic performance failures across the board. Keep it clean and professional so there is no easy retaliatory cover fire to distract from the real issues.Bloody hell. She can barely even speak English.
The real issue is do they rebuild to a higher fire-resistant standard, or do they put up even WORSE stuff? Typically this type of "reset to zero" event is an opportunity to radically rethink the plan, especially since we KNOW the fire risk isn't going away. When thousands of buildings go away like this, how on earth do you start to rebuild? There won't be enough workers or materials to do them all at once, so some (poor) people are going to be homeless for years.
Thats an interesting one. Is it the fault of insurance companies to be able to provide coverage, the fault of the homeowner for living in a tinderbox, or the fault of the gov for not making it LESS of a tinderbox so the insurance companies can actually provide coverage? It's like flood insurance. If I'm in a big flood plain OF COURSE no company will or even should, insure me, at least not without an exorbitant rate. Because I'm in a FLOOD PLAIN. If I'm in a "fire plain" like most of this part of California, where lies the fault? I'd say its with the voters who elected folks who didn't do shit to fix the problem....for years and years and years, and years!Prediction: you’re gonna hear comedians making this joke in their new acts
“My condolences to everyone who lost their homes or loved ones in the LA wildfires, it’s devastating. And even worse you had home insurers dropping tons of people from their coverage totally screwing them over. The most devastated of all is Luigi Mangione who’s sitting there in prison like FUCK I targeted the wrong insurance CEO.”
You rock. Stay safe. It’s a test of faith for usThank you, bro... I am seriously thinking of donating my time to help, but I need to look into what I can do. I have time in the morning, surely I can figure out something. 5am till 2pm... I am sure my boss wouldn't mind.

We are gonna see a lot of sympathy pleas from the MSM to get the feds to write a massive check and cover this whole thing so the California politicians can keep on grifting and nothing will change. Will it work? Or will Cali FINALLY figure their shit out and put consequences on their DECADES of poor leadership and management?
Cue the Mario or Bowser jokes.Prediction: you’re gonna hear comedians making this joke in their new acts

I can see late night "comedians" totally missing the forest through the trees in that the bureaucracy and red tape regulations everywhere by their selected officials made it so it would bankrupt insurance agencies if they were forced to cover but never raise rates seeing a ripe for wild fire conditions those very officials allowed to permeate from their shit decisions and taxpayer fleecing.Prediction: you’re gonna hear comedians making this joke in their new acts

Anything can be insured. Look up Lloyd's of London. But it has a price. The point is the California Insurance Department didn't let the companies price the insurance properly. And when I say that I mean it literally. Companies have to go to the government to get their rates approved - true of all 50 states. Every insurance rate you pay is approved by a state regulator.Thats an interesting one. This wildfire would have bankrupted a lot of insurance companies, and people would be assed out with not only not getting anything on their returns, but now without insurance. Thus, good luck getting a mortgage without HOIs since companies will refuse to insure the area without compensation for such high risks due to regulations and policies that made it a ripe tinder box.Anything can be insured. There are some other issues with the way these policies were priced in the states and I'm not an expert on it, but that is the basic reason. So after a while you just cannot take on these risks without adequate compensation and you decide it's better to leave.
