For all you lovelies who were as excited as I to see Toonami make a brief and vicarious comeback: Adult Swim tweeted something to be cautiously optimistic about after gauging interest earlier in the week with the hashtag #BringBackToonami (where it promptly trended in the United States).

Apologies if it's already been mentioned.

Naw, not here. Not a lot of people in this thread seem to be partial towards Toonami.

I think it's great news though, had a ton of fun with the April Fools event. If it does come back, I'd prefer it as a weekend thing though, just for something to build up for each week.

Accel World 01-02

But, boy oh pig, do I hate the Main Character. What a terrible design choice to make him round and look completely different from everyone else. What you couldn't make him look ordinary or something and maybe a little shorter like Keiichi from Ah My Goddess? But, no let's go all the way into this round blob of a MC. And, he has a pig as an avatar? In a world where you can customize yourself into pretty much anything from a cat girl to a girl with the biggest butterfly wings I have ever seen, you choose a pig? In addition to his non-existent self esteem, which I can hardly look forward to him dealing with, you got the making of a terrible MC.
Maybe if they focus less on the MC, I'll probably be willing to keep watching this.

He is still better than Shu from Guilty Crown.

The lack of cable right now + already having all of DBZ archived (even though it's the inferior HD something something remasters T_T), makes this stuff less relevant for me.

Sorry Tom!

Agreed. I'd almost like to see it just in place of the current abysmal action block they have on Saturdays. Maybe start earlier and end later or something. A pseudo midnight run revival more than just straight up Toonami revived.

got the direction wrong

Nah.

I am baiting macodin to come back with this, but Ritsu really is the most useless of the group. She had all of one episode that was dedicated to her and she mostly exists to embarass Mio in the rest. The hyperactive idiot role is already filled by Yui anyway so she's superfluous.

Perfection. I think Nodoka is above Yui, if we ever fit her in though. (She-who-must-not-be-named can be safely ignored)

Nah, Yui fills the hyperactive idiot/sidekick role to Ritsu's hyperactive genkista/comedian role.

episode 9 of penguindrum was easily one of the best episodes of the entire series.

It's pretty special. I think Episode 9 was when the show went from being excellent to being god tier. There are a few episodes that I think beat it out in my mind (all in the second half), but it's easily one of the best episodes, and it's where the series really starts to pick up.

Why is everyone watching Sailor Moon?

Because it's awesome?

Haruhi S1 loses all sense of dramatic flow by watching it chronologically, even if the resolution is as cliché as it could get.

Pretty much. The series is entirely centered around being watched in broadcast order. Watching it in chronological order results in all of the mysteries being resolved right away, and the series climaxing before the halfway point, followed by a bunch of random episodes.

In my mind, watching Haruhi is more about the experience of watching Haruhi than the episodes themselves. The order the show is presented in is a large part of the appeal, and watching it in chronological order robs a lot of that. It's more about the form the story takes than what is actually happening.

Is Usagi Drop a good watch? Looks like my kind of show

It's life affirming. Usagi Drop is one of those shows that I think everyone should watch (especially the first episode, which is one of the most stunningly amazing pieces of television I've ever seen).

Ritsu owns; because her personality reminds me of myself the most. Except I'm more of a guitar player then a drummer.

I feel that Yui alone or Ritsu alone don't work, while both together are just awesome, which is why, even if Yui is the one I prefer the most, they are tied at first place imho.
so basically Yui=Ritsu>Mugi>Mio

Don't worry, Ritsu evolves into:

Puella Magi Madoka Magica: Episode 08

Man, I can't believe how fast Sayaka went from being a character I like to a character I hate. What a selfish idiot. She accuses Madoka of letting her suffer in her stead when she made the choice to make a contract with Kyubey. What a selfish little low-life.

Okay... Maybe I spoke a little too soon. I should just watch it and type stuff afterwards. : (

HOLY CRAP WHAT THE
Okay, I pretty much already knew that Kyubey was evil, but yeah. Didn't expect Homura to have some kind of ties to Sayaka. Hmm! Also, things are not looking good for Sayaka at all. I guess we're about to add another one to the body count...

Things are certainly still staying interesting enough. Can't wait for the next episode.

But they are voiced by the same person! D:

I did notice while watching that I would not imagine a round boy to sound like that at the very least.

Well since I saw no.6 first, I always see his characters permutations of Shion, probably reason why I cant wait to see Accel World, though I imagine he is just equivalent to shu.

Fairy Tail 32

Well that was a pretty backstory. Actually the episode made Lucy way more cooler than I ever imagined, I now see her in a new light, those lighting effects and everything, just wow, reminded me of one of those Sakura Haruno moments when they do something super epic that just changes your entire opinion on the character Nice.

Saint Seiya Omega 1

Not sure how I feel about this as I've no prior exposure to the franchise. It's something I'd eventually like to explore and I fear I'm doing myself a disservice by jumping in here but whatever. Ending was promising at the very least.

I don't understand how Mio gets so much hate here :(

You guys can't be PSN friends with me like this.

I was predisposed to like Mio, but the show played up her scaredy-cat personality quirk to the point of irritation. If that gets toned down in the second season, perhaps I'll feel differently.

Naw, mayne, you got it right!

Unnecessarily dug herself into that hole.

Mio becomes a side character in the 2nd season and she's basically 100% the same all throughout until the end.

Its clearly Yui > Mio > Mugi > Ritsu guys.

We can no longer be friends. Unless you accidentally reversed the arrows.

Okay, no longer friends.

Nonoriri

If your name is Nonoriri you have to go buy Nanami's tampons.
Yui > Ritsu > Mugi > Sawako > Nodoka = Jun > Ui > Mio/Azusa

You all know it to be true.

Any list with Yui on the top is wrong, unless it's a list of "anime's most offensive portrayals of the mentally challenged."
