Players should now just keep shift pressed from the get go and run all the way back
Pretty much. See a bug of a game in heavy development and suddenly we're back to the "Scam Citizen" comments.
If you can point me to the schedule of "6 years of full development" that'd be grand. Otherwise you can take the shitposting out of here.
I have no idea what's going on

if everything goes perfectly, scripted bullshit smoke and mirrors
if things are janky and a bit buggy b/c the game is not complete: LOL this shit sucks, vaporware blah blah
Its crazy where some ppls expectations are with this game.
I think its pretty amazing everytime I see it but I know its a long ways off as it should be for what they are trying to accomplish.
But they just said that with this new 3.0 update you run with the mouse wheel!
I mean, if I were a backer I'd be probably pretty pissed at this point with the state of the game as it is.
Development for this thing started in 2012, right? 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017. This is year 6.
And why should we only count the years of full development?
Why? I'm a backer for the base game at like the 35 dollar mark and have no issue where it is and it will be done when it gets done. I also don't get the extreme hate for this by some really vocal posters.I mean, if I were a backer I'd be probably pretty pissed at this point with the state of the game as it is.

If they do that, the naysayers will say it's scripted and the game doesn't exist. It's a lose-lose situation unfortunately.
It's like a live Crowbcat video!
It looks cool when it works, but I don't get why they're putting work into so many side things that could easily wait for later when they should be focusing on the core gameplay loop.
It is a basic planning to have a backup plan in case you cannot do the live demonstration. Imagine the game crashes one or two more times.
They don't need to care about trolls, they are not going to lose the funds or anything. Current viewers are losing because the presentation stalls.

Sony actually has backups for their live presentations. Not pre-canned video, but other people playing the same demo in the background, ready to switch to that feed in case something unexpected happens.
That's something I don't understand either. Yes, that facial stuff is cool but also jerky as hell right now. Just get the basics running...It looks cool when it works, but I don't get why they're putting work into so many side things that could easily wait for later when they should be focusing on the core gameplay loop.

The full restart of the UC4 demo says otherwise. And that demo was probably significantly more polished than this one.

Save files? wtfThey don't even have save files or anything here, gonna have to run through the same demo it seems.
Erm, wasn't that literally a cut to video though? Exactly what that poster is suggesting they should do?

That would suggest a prerecorded demo. Something they've stated hundreds of times they're NOT going to do.
Didn't they just switch to another PS4/PC, not video?
Blame the presentation.Didn't take long for this thread to take a dive.

Yeah sure hate posting when viewing a presentation of a game crash right in front of us and the developer even kinda "brags" about that they had lots of bugs earlier but not this one.
Tell me one other live demo presentation that would not be ripped to shreds if the same happened to it.
Blame the presentation.
Star Citizen is a pretty mess.
I wanted to give them the benefit of the doubt for a long time but I just can't see this coming together as a coherent game one day. All they seem to produce are buggy tech demos / vertical slicew. Are there people working on the actual content, populating planets and space?
