I hit CTRL+F in the patch notes and searched for “hag” - nothing found so I’m assuming they didn’t make her look less like a hag..

The increased effectiveness of headshots is very noticeable. Even on maximum difficulty, I can take out a lot of enemies with one headshot now. This is overkill when I use my gyro. Even without aim assist, they’ve turned me into a cross between John Wick and a Terminator. This will be the easiest game I’ve ever played on maximum difficulty. Being able to hold onto heavy weapons for a long time makes it even worse. I can just walk in and lay siege to entire imperial bases.

:messenger_expressionless:

Also

You keep picked-up weapons when you jump on your speeder.

Hell yeah

Apparently not from what I've been reading. Image quality still not where it should be on the Pro.
yeah, was hoping they'd throw some of that in there for us. i mean shit. it should be able to run crisp and clean on a pro at some setting level. it can look great at times, but mostly in motion, it's pretty muddy/blurry/hazy with some upscaling fizzle in spots. other than that, and the woke lib stuff that influenced aspects of the game, i'm haveing a good time with it.

Are you finding changing the screen to fill/full rather than bordered is impacting them at all? I know it widens the FOV with bordered mode, but is it OK full screen without the borders?

I'm fine with what they're doing gameplay wise. But hesitant simply due to the bad reports on image quality. Its on sale tomorrow too... so it's good to hear your thoughts & impressions. I'm tempted.

i'd say you won't regret getting it. but it's definitely not like a ps5 pro "check out my new toy" stunner. i'm not seeing any noticeable different (other than the zoom in at full screen) between widescreen and fullscreen. it's just like some reflections (floors), grassy (high density fine detail stuff) areas, surface textures, etc. can look a little "man i wish this shit was more cristp/clear". if that makes sense. but it still does look pretty good.

Thanks man. So you play it in the full screen mode without borders then?

I'm already sold on the flexibility they've added to encounters with the latest patch. So I'm almost convinced.

i actually like having more FOV so play at widescreen. also find some of these 3rd person games a little claustrophobic when they're too close to the character. im like constantly moving the camera to look around them. feels a little too close to the chick when in fullscreen.

i'm also hoping that we'll see another update come that will focus on visuals on pro. can't imagine the dev team at massive doesn't see it!

PC? lowest i see there is about 32 USD, anyway i want it on PS5.

do it. with the new changes to combat mechancis and encounter design, it should be well worth it. its a gorgeous game too.

I am seeing it for $31 though. might still buy it.
Yeah weird i'm not seeing it now either, it was def there this morning though because i nearly pulled the trigger!.

Its still the same price on Eneba, minus the buck service charge -

Feels REAL good playing this again. Everything just feels so much smoother. Enemy hit reactions are definitely improved. Shooting just feels super tight now. The experience as a whole just feels tighter. No other way to describe it.

Might as well be my GOTY. It’s the only game that released this year that I’ve excitedly returned to no questions asked. I just love my old fucking Star Wars feels and being in those worlds and this game delivers them like a motherfucker.

Family out of town this weekend, was gonna do some COD:MW2&3, but might go for this instead. Xbox X or PS5 (nonpro)? Any clear winner there? Is it on game pass?

Regular PS5. Pro impressions seem like it’s looks a bit funky for the moment. Not sure if it’s on GP.

You could never pull shit like this off before so early on, and if you did it’d be sloppy

Never saw a two punch takedown either so that might be new. Certainly more “realistic”

That's depressing to hear. This game should be looking amazing on the Pro. It already looked amazing in Quality mode on SX/ps5 with RT gi. Only thing it suffered from was it was a little soft and had some pixel crawl here and there...and water reflections looked bad. If they could've got the previous Quality mode running at 60 on Pro with a slightly higher resolution it would've solved all that and made for a beast of a Pro showcase! I haven't tried it on Pro but I can tell just based on people's reactions that it must be running with worse settings than Quality mode..Ubisoft did a shit job with the patch.

If you're going to force people to play it using just one mode for Pro, it better have the same or better graphical settings than base PS5. If you can't do that then why are you removing the Quality/30 fps option?? Stupid Ubisoft.

There's a huge amount of PSSR shimmer on this on PS5 Pro! Looks like the SH2 puddle issue plagues this game too. I just started playing this for the first time... god damn! Is this a new issue with the latest patch or has it been like this all the time?

Might go back to this now that they made stealth optional. I ranted on this game earlier in the thread about how I thought those segments were atrocious. I had other problems with it too though so I may still not get on board next time around either, but I have a better chance.

Anyone play the update long enough to give further insight into the changes? Like did they totally remove getting caught in stealth sections altogether so you don't have to restart them again?

I picked up the base game today. Mixed bag visually on Pro. There's some serious image problems with what looks like RT not working well with the rest of the image causing texture flicker and some lighting problems in places - it can be distracting. But on the other hand it looks great at times from an image sharpness perspective especially when you disable Cinematic Lens. They need to sort out the glaring bugs though. HDR is excellent, just needed to drop the black level a notch on TV. Performance is a mostly solid 60fps, but enabled VRR to help on some bits.

Gameplay wise, I'm only a few hours in and now on the second planet. And its decent. I'm glad I can do stealth mixed with shooting. And controls are very tight. A lot of config options too, so I can turn off auto aim etc. Its solid so far.

I was going to wait for a cheaper price but after finishing DA4 I really needed a new game to dig into. Coming up on 8 hours..

- Feels like a mishmash of other games youve already played a hundred times
- Main character is just meh, she doesnt project enough confidence for this kind of character archetype, she just feels too soft and overall comes off as more of a poser than the titular "outlaw"
- Man DA spoiled me on hair tech, hair looks awful in this game often shimmery and artfacty when wind blows
- I am spoiled by the mini dopamine hits of leveling. No xp, completing quests and u get no xp or gear rewards, feels a bit disappointing.

+ Started liking the game more past the 5 hour point, lot of options for what to do, lot of side quests, I like how a lot of "intel" that leads to side quests happens organically in the world
+ I do like the space stuff, it adds to the SW feel, space combat is fairly simple but gets the job done, I like how quests will send you offplanet to orbiting stations
+ I actually like the combat so far, you cant just stand there and tank hits, have to be smart and use cover
+ Graphics are nicely detailed, picked quality and its a nice 30fps that feels good, Snowdrop continues to be a solid engine IMO

I picked this up also. Playing on PS5.

I wanted it at launch but wisely held off. So far it’s just OK. I have had to revert my save probably 5 different times in 4 hours were the button or action to advance the mission would disappear and I would be completely stuck. When I would reload and get back to the same area it would work fine.

Also I’ve had a lot of interactions with characters when I select the button to speak with them the game would pause for a good 5 or more seconds before the interaction would start. So much I thought the game froze up.

Probably should have skipped this one but I’m in it for now.

Lol so from the very start
Waka has been entirely too helpful, knows like everything, then Im at a certain point and I think this guy has GOT to have a heel turn at some point and literally two minutes later he betrayed me.
so that was fun, story is getting more interesting.

- Here is yet another player character constantly talking to herself, yeah its framed as her talking to her pet, but its the same vibe. Will this trend never die?
- Kinda dumb how her wanted picture is on screens all over the place yet she doesnt do a single thing to alter her appearance. Woulda been a perfect opportunity for a quest the first time she sees this to customize your hairstyle & color.
