If Jude Law is playing his age, he’s old enough to have been a Jedi and not a Padawan at Order 66.
This is like 40 years after Order 66 or something like that right? I don't know exactly but I thought there were no more "Jedi" after Yavin. Sure there were Force sensitive beings still around but no actual trained Jedi left? Or Maybe he left the order since we don't know how many people quit the order after becoming Jedi, do we?

Less than 30 years.

19 years between Order 66 and ANH, four years until ROTJ, and then about five until the Mandoverse. He would’ve been about 20 at Order 66.

There are a lot of Jedi around after Yavin.

A lot survived Order 66 and went into hiding Obi-Wan showed the “Underground Railroad” that helped them avoid the Inquisitors and Vader.

I know A lot of Jedi Survived but by Retrun of the Jedi it's only Luke left is what I meant. (Or so we thought)

Next episode is the Bryce Dallas Howard episode. A theory is going around that Hondo is who rescued Jod which is how he became a pirate.

I’ve been asking my kids if they want to watch this every now and then. Zero interest so far. This franchise is dead to them and all of their friends too apparently.

If I had to grow up with the sequel trilogy I'd too have zero interest in the franchise. The original trilogy is what made me love it,

I feel like she elevates most of the stuff she directs, same with her Mandalorian episodes. Maybe eventually she'll even get to direct a Star Wars movie.

I hope Jod wins in the end

Fuck Dem Kids 👀

I think he’s going to realize the pirates are always going to hate him or want to backstab him, and side with the kids at the end. The mint will end up getting destroyed in the chaos, KB calls in the lady from Episode 3 to alert the Alliance to arrive and help wipe out Brutus and his forces, and “The Supervisor” is revealed to be the not-so-dead but still very old Captain Tak who has been the one to ensure At Attin remains ignorant of the fact the Old Republic is gone so that he can live life in luxury and peace.

Jod kills Captain Tak and his droid forces and gets branded a hero by the people of At Attin. He plays it up as if he was the one who saved the kids, and the kids realize the full truth is never going to get out so they just go along with it. Jod is handsomely rewarded by the Alliance for his role in liberating At Attin. In the final scene, Wim confronts Jod before the latter leaves the planet, and Jod explains that while the treasure of At Attin was his primary goal, he never truly wanted the kids hurt and is glad they survived and are home safe. Wim still feels betrayed, saying, “it really isn’t like the stories, is it?” Jod pauses, says, “not all of it, no. But some of it is, believe me.” He lifts the lightsaber, reconsiders, then puts it back in his hilt and pulls out his knife instead and hands it to Wim. “Not a toy, understand? (Wim nods) When you’re older, and if you’ve got the craving for another adventure, find me, challenge me for the position of Captain, and no matter the victor, you and I can set off on another adventure. Deal?” “Deal.” Jod and SM-33 bid Wim farewell and the other kids arrive just in time to wave goodbye as Jod and SM-33 take off in the Onyx Cinder into space.

So some level of Treasure Island influence with the final scene but still its own thing. That’s how I would do the ending.

Tried getting into this. Not my thing.

I just can't get into Disney Star Wars at all (Except Rogue One. That film is fantastic).

I have a feeling the captain is going to be Wim’s Dad. He crashed on the planet. Had a kid and gave up the pirate life.

I think it is a fun show.

It was silly in the last episode that the button you shouldn’t press does the one thing they need it to.

I’m thinking there was a mutiny and the captain got free and killed everyone. Decided to stay on At Attin.

I would say the original captain would be dead because it is a legend. And part of pirate lore.

Not knowing just how far back this Captain Rennock was makes it hard to speculate. I'm guessing the At Attin society of humans minded by droids pre existed his arrival though since everything else seems similar to the other mint world that had since collapsed.

Those Treasure Island references though, so damned good. It gives the Star Wars flavor some real meat, shit that was lacking in the last half dozen star wars shows that have no deeper human connection. Now give me a Jedi/Sith story using Romeo and Juliet as the template during the High Republic. And they both still die in the end (spoilers :p

As the exact years when everything happened with Rennod are not told I'll freely add to the speculation that perhaps Wim's dad is Rennod. And that he acts so feeble and aloof to hide his past. And because the love of his life made him soften. Of course, the most obvious twist might be the Supervisor, but I'd think it'd be fun if Wim was the son to a legendary pirate captain and it'd explain his desire for adventure.

Finished the seventh episode last night. Really fun. The show has paid off in my opinion.

You could really tell they were using the volume during the elevator sequence. But it was still great.

There are so many stories to tell in this nugget of Star Wars that they have created. I love Jedi and Sith and Yoda and the whole bit but this show has so much freedom while still being familiar, like a kid you see at school all the time but don't share any classes with.

Please don't be just one season. It doesn't have to be a bunch of seasons but a Star Wars: Skeleton Crews Special every year would be nice. Captain Neel has such a nice ring to it.

Also when 33 said "close enough" I legit cheered in my house. I love this show!

Enjoying the show alot, it's fantastic and so different then Andor. It ranks up there with some of the best Disney content. They just need to stick the landing in the last episode though. I would love if they tied something to the larger plot and unvierse as a cherry on top. As much as I would love to see more Jod, I don't think it's going to end well for him. Another person they could have used in an Heir to the Empire set-up with Thrawn.

Absoutely love the ship designs from from the frigates to the smaller craft. The call backs to the high rebublic books (some bright spots in those books), the white/gold light saber, Nihil type ships,, drvies and other references, the storm wall tech. Classic star was with introducing a character like Brutus.

It's so well done, better than I expected after the Acolyte disaster (except for Borttles).

I also found it funny they use the same snub fighter from Mando season 3 and the pirate king, the same paint job too. That snub fighter was taken from some porsche designed star wars colab.

I read this show has tanked and has no audience.

Yea it has had less views then Acolyte. One can hope it will have the Andor effect and viewership getting better by time.

"According to Nielsen's streaming data, Skeleton Crew has less than 382 million minutes watched across the premiere's two episodes (46 minutes + 29 minutes). Didn't make it to top 10 originals, which is a first for a SW show, and the lowest ever for a SW show. source

For comparison, the premieres of other Star Wars shows:

  • The Mandalorian Season 2: 1,032 million minutes
  • The Book of Boba Fett: 389 million minutes (episode length: 37 minutes, including credits)
  • Obi-Wan Kenobi: 1,026 million minutes (two episodes)
  • Andor: 624 million minutes (three episodes)
  • The Mandalorian Season 3: 823 million minutes
  • Ahsoka: 829 million minutes (two episodes)
  • The Acolyte: 488 million minutes (two episodes; 41 minutes + 36 minutes)"

Well this has been much better than boba fett.

I'm not a SW fan to begin with. I just watch most of the movies at some point and that's it. And I dont even remember what happens in those 2000-ish movies except Samuel L Jackson gets destroyed out a skyscraper and tons of CGI fights.

But as a non-follower of SW content I think the answer is simple why Skeleton Crew viewership is bad. Who the hell wants to watch SW kids?

It'd be like a Star Trek series or a superhero movie where it's all about their kids.

I'd say that is a direct reflection on Fett, obi-wan, and Acolyte murdering the star wars audience. No one even bothers to give the shows a chance and I can't say I blame them. I like SC quite a bit but it lacks almost anything the casual star wars fans would recognize. The kids in the show turn off the older viewers and the parents have been burned by Disney and don't trust the mouse with their kids anymore, plus no kids have had a worthy star wars product for them in years.

They probably did the show hoping it's find an audience with families. SW parents who are fans combining with their kids would lead to big numbers and getting kids into the SW universe. I dont see it.

Maybe the show would do better as a sub plan cartoon which kids might watch, but not as live action.

I would love an inroad to get my kids to love Star Wars, but it's just too late. Kids don't give a shit, and even if this show is incredible, it's got ten years of bullshit trash as a representative.
