I even did a basic throw and just completely forgot the follow up or mistimed the AC.
I was hoping I wasn't alone in this. I went through a couple of matches earlier where I'd actually get a good inside game going with Nu and land a throw - then forget entirely what to do next.

Happened three times before I got my mojo back. :lol

Hmm... Is it me or Hazama is looking a lot like Axl Low? (Not only in appearance but also in style)
The chains thing does bring to mind Axl but the way they were describing him (and the screenshots) didn't really look like him at all, IMO.

The speed part doesn't sound Axl at all, but the few stuff we have seen on those scans looks a lot like some of Axl's specials. (Can't find any relevant video and it's been years since I payed GG, so I'm not sure)

It was Goozex. I've had the PS3 version on my queue for ages but no bite. I added the 360 version 2 - 3 days ago and someone shipped it today ._.

I saw my friend play the story mode for Rachel. This game makes no sense.

To get the story of BlazBlue

1. Play all of arcade mode
2. Play all of story mode
3. Get all the events and put it in the proper chronological order
4. Take some heavy drugs and talk to your spirit animal

Voila! Now you know the entire storyline

Lol, at step for I just said screw it and looked up on gamefaqs :lol

(well, I didn't really do 1. lol)

EDIT: Funny, I think Rachel's story mode makes the most sense out of all of the stories.

I just stayed up to finish Story Mode in its entirety...100% with everyone.

I need two more Achievements and they have to do with Score Attack D:

New Screenshots-

http://game.watch.impress.co.jp/docs/news/20090930_318526.html

Things to see:

Another new HUD already
Taokaka has big boobs in her character portrait now
Hazama has a counter above his meter, presumably for the chains. (he looks less like Axl by the second, IMO)

New HUD is growing on me, now they've revised it a bit.

I like the new character art in the selection screen which looks more stylized, and soft compared to the rigid polarizing anime design before, and I'm liking all the buffs/nerfs, but those screens look horrible to me. The characters, and stages are so pixelated besides the hazama vs Tsubaki that I can't make out any detail in the other characters thanks to some sort of ultra zoom. The HUD changes seem pretty minor so I don't have much to complain about there. They should wait until they are really ready to release some nice screens though.

Edit: I just noticed whats bugging me.

Every character seems like they were drawn with some strange outline, and it seems like the shadowing, and detail on the characters is gone, or out of proportion. You can check the Bang vs Rachel fight to see things like Bang's abs, and Rachel(The bat, the cat's eyes, etc.)

You get an interview with the voice actor for the character you get 100% with...only problem is it's completely in Japanese.

Eh....I don't care much for the colorful HUD.

With the new screenshots I have to say that Hazama doesn't look like Axl that much. (Previous low res scans were deceiving)

Too bad they choose Tsubaki... I wanted Makoto!
Or even better: a returning, even more crazy, Nu!.

I think this is pretty interesting, basically another look at the loketest that goes more indepth with certain things. The part that mainly caught my attention was it saying Bang was the best character and Rachel was the worst, the next test should be interesting to see what they changed from this, not to mention Hazama being in it.

wow, Bang at #1? Tager almost #1? Best loke test ever! :lol

I wouldn't take these changes to heart though, I imagine the next Loketest this weekend will probably be pretty drastically differant as well. This one sounds a lot like the GG tests- do massive blanket changes and see what sticks.

Amazing collection of info here. I'm very happy with most of the changes with the exception of Bang having his overheads removed. The Guard Primer is a way more specific system that is easy to identify, and the Barrier bursts don't punish late or early bursting. It's actually better that they made it harder to reach DANGER level so that we can get some longer matches. I know you are happy with the changes.:lol

now for some thoughts...

Bang- It's a shame that I've lost my overheads, but I'm pretty happy overall. Faster startups, and anything standing B punishable leads to four seals combo are fanstatic additions. I LOVE that the nails are faster, and that the poison has more damage than before. I also like that he got a couple of specific improvements to deal with Noel. I'm also very curious to see this new anti-air distortion drive hit throw with modest damage since it's a new special move to mess with anyone trying to bring the rushdown to me.

Carl- He is shaping up quite nicely. A new projectile attack, and increased combo damage sounds just right. I also like that he has an untechable throw now. He is going to be a real challenge in the CS. I kind of wish that they would have doubled his Guard primer using Nirvana as a convenient excuse since his health will most likely still be lowest.

Iron Tager- He is going to be a serious threat to anyone, and everyone in the BB universe at this point. He is faster, has double the Guard primer of the next closest characters, and has faster start up times for some moves. More magnetizing opportunities including a zero damage magnetizing grab, and another drive attack making him the only character in the game with 5 drive attacks. Good stuff

Haku-Men- He sounds much more improved, but I do worry about the crazy combo damage he has thanks to ←C(3000pt!). The other changes like more frames on drive attacks, and less damage on knockbacks sound good though. I'll wait before I comment on the shield.

Jin
Ragna
Arakune
Noel
V-13: It seems like these characters have been scaled back a bit, and the first three have had some changes to force players to play in a more complex manner. Spamming moves with any of these seems to be discouraged with the new changes. Overall I don't see any gamebreaking changes with these guys.

Taokaka
Rachel
Litchi: It seems like the first two just haven't had as much work done yet, and they seem to be at a disadvantage now, with the exception of litchi who wasn't nerfed out of okizemi techniques as much as Rachel. I suppose we'll see more on these three in the next few tests.

Sorry for the long post, but this is short compared to the link's info.

Are there gonna be any additional characters other then the two new ones we know of?

Judging by the new character select screen I would say no. There are no empty slots in the newly designed one, so it would seem like waste of time to make yet another one but who knows.

Guilty Gear slotted characters like Justice, Robo Ky and Kliff randomly in the middle of the select circle, so who knows!

Hazama impressions are that he's sort of like Johnny (really close range) but not really. He walks really slow, so i guess they want you to use his chains to move around.

his move list-

HAZAMA
Movelist:
Jyabagi- 236d
jyasetsu- 214d
 → ressenga A
 → gassyokyaku B
 → zaneiga C
→ 構え中断 D This is probably the cancel move
hirentotsu- air 214b
gasaisyou- 236c
jyakou- 623d

jyayokuhoutenjin- 236236B
mizuchirekkazan- 632146c

- 6A is overhead
- 6B is a overhead feint into a low
- 2C is AA
- jc can be mashed for more hits I think
- Time up lose pose is clapping like slayer (lawlz)
- Win pose is spinning his hat on his finger.
note: I have no idea what any of those looks like, haha, except that for the second super he turns into Terumi for the duration of it. (!!) General impressions are that hazama feels "unpolished" so he'll probably be better later.

In this loketest Burst has changed again
- Barrier burst is now replaced with Break Burst
- You can stock up to 2 bursts
- Burst no longer have damage penalty
- Using Burst will consume half of the Guard Primer
- Number of burst does not increase even if you lose the round

And Rachel sucks less. So yeah.

Here is some new info about Rachel's new DD taken from Dustloop.
Rachel:

New super (uses one wind to activate along with 50% meter)- 1 wind at start results inrelease of 5 koumori (bats).
2 winds result in 4 koumori + 1 bull
3 winds result in 2 koumori + 2 bulls + 1 pumpkin
4 winds result in 2 bulls + 2 pumpkins + king george.

There are no info or videos of the super so we don't know how the bats/bulls/king george move. But this super does seem very interesting :D

It rules out the blackbeat combos that happen when people don't waggle it out, but he still has legitimate combos with it. Though I guess it's basically a predetermined hitstun now.

what was great about ice is that you could time a followup so that you would start a new combo just as they were shaking out of the ice, since there would be a chance they would be holding forwards at the moment they shook out of it. Now that they can just hold back the entire time they're frozen, there's no possibility to start a reset combo.

The only thing that matters:
-You don't need to waggle to get out of Jin's ice

Thank you.

I hope they at least give us 3 seconds of vulnerability. I don't think it would be fair to Jin players to nerf him like that.

The actual freeze times are shorter, but all of his drives seem to come out faster. Now the moves themselves are less telegraphed but you also may not have as many options as he previously had for landing it. It's mainly just re-adjusting the mechanic, which seems to be a pretty common thing for CS. A lot of people will need to take different approaches with their character's drive tweaks.

In ice? Yeah, I don't think following up will really be the issue. Doing legit combos with ice would still work(otherwise the drive is literally pointless), getting rid of the waggle just makes it less frustrating for the player who ends up jumping out of the ice or something by complete accident, or not waggling and seeing the Jin rack up a bunch of blackbeat combos. It may suck to lose that for Jin, but I personally think waggling out of ice in a fast paced game like this was a really annoying gimmick.
