Okay xbox live crew, we need to form like voltron and get this shit together tonight. Grifter, I'm calling you out. I am beating your ass tonight, come hell or high water.

Seriously I called in last night for action, but no one was on...... :(

Hopefully tonight will be different

If you can't beat me 10-0 by now, you should just quit.

Maybe I'm tripping... but I'm training with Nu right now and I can't seem to link a combo together. I'm not even sure if its possible at this point but here's where I'm at

Is DD > 4DD> J2DD even possible? I can't tell if its just me not being fast enough, being constricted by the d-pad, or if I need to gravity well someone first. I'm thinking that if it is possible to link that, then I should be able to move from Nu's basic ground combo directly into her air rape.

I really think that the gravity well is most underused move in the game too. I'm going to work on pimping that harder. Its gotta be more useful than just annoying Rachel, Jin, Tao, and Noel.

I need to delve into online play but I is afeared of the shark filled waters that await me. Haven't really had the time to devote to the game to get decent with it and decide who my main is even going to be. I think I'll just finish the arcade mode with every character to unlock all of the Astral Finishers and see what everyone is roughly capable of.

Am I the only finding that most people online have bad delays for online? Its like 1/4 of rooms I look through are decent and most are worse that bad

I haven't had that many problems at all, but then again I mostly play with friends so my games are usually regional.

So I did some matches this morning with Player Matches. Thought I change up my Tao just a little bit here and there. Jin spammers are really annoying. And yet hard to get by at times because of how random his shit goes. All'n all, as everyone has been saying (which I was firmly against, till now) Jin is THE flowchart bastard child.

But a few things clicked with me today. One, the barrier block. How it can push back the combo dealers. I don't know where it came from in my mind, but I just started using it more usefully and bam! easy off my ass! Another was with some of Tao's air combos. That just hit me as well and for some reason as I was pulling off at least a few bread and butter combos. Granted I missed a few of the enders with the cf.B finisher but overall, it's making a lot more sense. Jin I put on the side burner for now. I did put in a few matches with him. Some idea's floated about how you could do the forward (or back. whichever of the two) C which launches them back, then follow with a crouch back D move, then follow with a air combo.

Granted I haven't been playing much but today things just start to click about the game mechanics. I look forward to playing more with some GAFers to get some more learning deaths. Best way to get better. Play the best to be the best.

Ugh... last night I decided to switch from control Type B to Type A because using middle/ring finger for B+C just doesn't work well and I'm missing the vast majority of my throw escapes, and the re-acclimation process is not going well. Everything that I combo into an A attack, I keep pressing B for. =(

Block is def. a friend against random jins. ICEBOARD! *Block* punish then start blocking again. He'll come to you everytime.

Oh yes you do :lol . Trust me as a user of Jin and the losses I've had, you do.

I laughed so hard at this because its what I do in a nutshell. I fought higher level Jin players and they weren't having that and wrecked my face hard.

How are you supposed to know when to block low or high, its hard to tell in this kind of game where its so fast and the animations are all over the place.

oh btw, how do you tell if the connection to a room online is good or bad? is it the green, red, blank circles?

Being at least somewhat aware of matchups and BnB combos helps. Blocking low is pretty safe unless it's an overhead but overheads usually come at the start of a combo I've found.

:lol i was playing randoms and got jin a few times all i did was ice board and tap strong attack ftw!! and actually won against a carl player who was pretty decent. Jins ice attacks are strong as fuck though.

Here's another replay I have against a Taokaka, I love how the match ends here. :lol

This one is my least favorite because I feel horrible about the ending and played pretty horribly the whole match.
I should not have won. =(

I still have yet to fight a Jin that doesn't rely on that, even the mid 30 ones still ice board and spam strong attack. :p

Anyone know why my trophies are in japanese even though my game is NA-version?

Also does completing a story mode with character open anything else than the interview with voice actor? I just completed my first one (Ragna)

Had my first Remote Play experience this morning. Once I connected directly to my PS3 wireless instead of going through my home router the experience was very good. I was able to pull of combos, DDs and Astral Finishers and it really felt like I was playing the game right there on the PSP.

It wont be my preferred way of playing because of my arcade stick but for sitting in the living room on the couch and messing around it works really well.

The few times I've played against Jin, this happened.

Sucks not having phone/internet/cable. I'm having withdrawls not being able to play online... oh well lots of story mode for me until it's fixed :(

Anybody playing on PSN right now? I'm about to hop on to test out my new arcade stick.

PSN id is WHOAguitarninja so shoot me a friend request if you're down. I'm a fairly noobish Ragna and a very noob Bang.

I'm slowly gettin better with Ragna... but damn, I fare so much better against Jin defensively, punishing random Icecrarts when I thought I'm suposed to keep on the pressure. Working on that.
Maybe I'll pick up Nu but I fear people will DC as soon as she shows up on my card ^.^;;

That sai, I still love readin reviews of that game.. they are all so gushing :lol

Now that I've played well over 100 matches in ranked and gotten to level 30, I think it's time to start practicing in training mode some more. I'm doing pretty well at zoning and defensive tactics and I have some pretty solid ground combos that work, but I got rocked pretty hard by another Jin player who was doing some pretty amazing stuff in the air. He/she has inspired me to learn this shit. :lol Going to pop in that bonus DVD and see what I can copy learn.

I agree, I'd love to get a good crew together. Haven't played with gaffers for weeks and am tired of these.. these soulless, horrid random Noels! :lol I may not be able to do it tonight, though 'cause it sounds like the GF is going to want to play Tales of Vesperia.

Blaze. They say it in the story mode once or twice too.

According to the japanese title, it's pronounced Blay Blue. Don't trust the english voice actors, or the blu ray disc narrators! They don't know!

Since I just moved back from Japan a couple months ago, I still have no internet for my Ps3. :\

Luckily, I have a corral of friends that love playing the game.

Well, grifter beat my ass pretty good though not SF4 Akuma good. :lol I'm definitely sticking with Hakumen--his counter game is just way too tempting not to get deep on. Peeped the DVD and apparently his sword can snuff projectiles and even DD's. Whoa.

meh, you want proof, just try saying "blue" when you're supposed to in Brain Age on the DS. You have to say "BAHDOO" for it to recognize it :lol

Haha don't ever play his akuma then. Also he used to do GG tourneys so I knew he'd beast in this game. Shame that he mains Noel--she was my initial choice as well but mirror matches really bug me so I went hakumen. I ate many a combo. Shit felt unstoppable at times though pretty sure he was baggin' me with her low slide. I fail at blocking in this game so far. Gotta still get a feel for movesets and such.

The roughest part about the fights is that I was always so close. I'd win one round and make him fight for those other rounds but I'd always forget to block an overhead and Ragna just ate shit...couple that with his excellent execution of her super and well yea.
