Yay, my favorite replay finished. :lol

The rest of them are all up too, mostly just tried to stick matches that had close endings or something in them.

Tager vs. Taokaka - I love the ending of this one.
Tager vs. Tager -
I still don't know how I ended up not getting hit at the end!
Tager vs. Taokaka - Lucky as hell.
Tager vs. Arakune

I really hate watching some of these, it definitely helped me attempt to improve though. I've been trying not to 2D so much and the biggest problem I still have is following up a sparkbolt. I've been doing it into Magna Tech Wheel lately, but I've been trying to hit them in the air for a grab just incase I don't have 50 heat. I also do the 720 way too much, but I luvs it.

Oh, if anyone who plays Tager knows how to fight Hakumen, please give me tips. I lose to every single one online, even if they spam stuff. D:

I just bought this game today and am really liking Litchi and Taokaka so far.

Man, I wish I could play some of you online but I can't connect to LIVE for some reason :(
My DNS settings can't read LIVE's servers or xbox.com

Is it possible to do Rachel's 3C doing only 1 hit on a standard dualshock? Seems no matter what I do it'll always do 3 hit at minimum

You can, go to the leaderboards and people have replays you can download... you have to fulfill special requirements to get access to upload though. I think it's based on the points you earn in one match a la SF4.

I thought you had the option to save replays of other people's player matches after the fight is over. That's usually the reason the next match always takes a while, cuz people forget to hit no and everyone just waits in the lobby lol.

Or is it something else, I'm on a small crappy crt so I can't read text :lol

Mah Xbox is online. I'm READY GUYS!!!!!!!!!

Ah, DRAAAGONLIFE i s-e-e u!

I'm new to Xbox Live. I don't know how this all works really. Messing around right now.

Anyone have a recommended layout for the mad catz fight stick, or does the default setup work well?
lol this should be in the OP, been asked like once every page.

arcade mode has two layouts:

type A:

B C D
A

type B:

A B C
D

so you map to short, jab, strong, and fierce, altho many other ppl have reported to make their own layouts per personal preference.

Just did my 200th ranked match, I'm 96 - 104 at the moment. I fought 4-5 Hakumens in a row at the end and lost them all, I cannot do ANYTHING against him. :lol

Now I just need ~75 player matches and I'll have 1000/1000 in this game, I've become addicted. :p

I added you Spirit Icana and Jekki, though it's almost 3AM here so I can't really play right now.

Thanks :D Was thinking of setting up like type B if no one had any suggestions. Also makeshift tripod ftw (thought I was the only one who did that).

EDIT: The soundtrack...so awesome.

I think the music and sound effects are awesome, but the sound quality is awful and doesn't do the game justice. I'm really disappointed in that aspect. It seems to be in 2.0 stereo.(?) Regardless, it's pretty poor. Anything other than dolby digital on a next-gen system doesn't cut it. I don't think the genre should matter. SFIV sounds much better and makes good use of surround.

Icana, WTF D: Didn't you get the game just a couple days ago? You're way too ahead of me already XD

By the way, Litchi and Taokaka are the only ones I've played so far on my own time...everyone else was just me being an idiot and, sometimes, getting fluke wins :lol (Rachel)

I really don't understand the mechanics of this game quite yet. I seem to deplete my Heat without even noticing.

Also, remember I said my control layout was weird? Well, since I basically deleted the file I used (I have a thing...I HAVE to be dragonlife29) when playing the game earlier, I hadn't noticed I messed up the layout earlier, myself--so, basically, it wasn't "mixed up;" I had just accustomed myself to a screw up I did it in training :lol (I made B, A, and X, C)

Er...good games XD

I hate this. I go into the list to see what button=D, and so on, and I'm so used to using circle to cancel on the PS3 I end up changing the controls every damn time.

I got it day one. I know there are others who are even better than me. For my first day online though I didn't lose much at all. I was worried I'd be hammered by pros.

LOL! It seriously looked like you knew what you were doing witht Rachel, but you wouldn't use your DD special with those pole thingies much, making wonder.

Yeah, I had a lot of fun. Too much fun iln fact. I didn't realize how late...er, early it was until I quit.

I can't wait to face you when you get better. :D

That rachel devoured my manhood just yesterday : (

I finally just had to rent this game. It's amazing. Once I actually have some money, I'm buying this game in a heart beat.

I've put some time into learning Jin and Taokaka so far. I'm better with Jin, but I still doesn't feel like I've learned the game at all yet.

I want to pick up a technical fighter and a bruiser. Both of my buddies are leaning Rachel, so I'm thinking of trying someone different. Thought about Carl, but I think he's beyond my abilities.

Can't wait to put some more time into it.

How do you save replays from other people's matches?

Network -> Ranking -> click on the persons name -> download replay (the button for that is shown at the bottom of the screen) -> success

Hey Shearie, thanks for the fun games just now. Sorry if I bored you with my Training Dummy Rachel. :lol

Like I mentioned in chat, I'm pretty terrible at GG/BB where damage relies upon long combos. Too many years spent playing Super Turbo and KoF98. I've managed to learn a few of Rachel's combos in training, but I can never get them off in an actual match (either due to execution or my inability to capitalise upon opportunities). Hope it'll happen with more play. Looking forward to next time!
Yeah, I'm trying to figure out which character to use. I'm thinking of messing around with Arakune. :lol
Arakune is my new secondary character. He's fun to use and he can totally confuse scrubs but he's hard to get a feel for with his weird movement and numerous moves. If you're a Ryu and Ken guy like me, go for Ragna. Good, solid, easy to learn character.

You should really main Taokaka. She seems to fit you more and you know what you're doing with her.

So I just went out and bought this game at GS. I pulled off the shrink wrap, and the box smelled like absolute shit. I'm not talking about paint stench, I'm talking about full fledged dog shit.

I think my game is special :|

Eh, he's young...and getting actual donations for just doing stuff like that? More power to em I guess.

Youtube comments still suck though:

"holy shit, how the fuck can you call yourself an uber nerd if you use internet explorer? fucking idiot

and the video wasn't even funny "

Didnt think younger people used the word Japanimation though.

For the life of me, I can't beat Jin. When I'm playing someone who's clearly spamming moves, I still lose, even though I consider myself to be an above average player.

I don't have any problem with decent players of the other characters... I can hold my own, at least, but I always struggle against piece of shit Jin spammers. I always get hit by the Ride the Icening or get frozen and it does so much fucking damage it's infuriating. They run up and throw-> frozen. They perform a freeze move that crossups or fills a good chunk of the screen. Even after they do the Ride the Icening move, I can only counter half the time on block because it seems that they can just block right afterward with no delay.

I know it's just me playing poorly against him. Any tips? I'm a Litchi player and it's really messing with my head.

Possibly the worst part is, if I pick Jin, then I always beat them next match, but I really hate using him.

As a Jin user, I would actually recommend getting in close and staying that way. When you give room that person will have that constant Ice rides coming through. Plus attacks with C and such animate faster and will stop the Ice ride if that person is close. Not sure whom you main but get in close and watch out for forward D with Jin. Also jump and super jump to avoid the ice ride shenanigans and don't block ice blade too much

I main Litchi right now, who unfortunately has a lot of startup on most of her moves.

I'll try super jumping more, but that doesn't really get me in close. That mash C move jin has pushes back and fills the lower half of the screen so approach is negligible. It seems pretty safe too, since I'm not sure what to counter it with after he performs it.

And I hate how his Super is lightning fast and flashes across the entire screen. It's so dangerous.

The Ice Daggers are something most players aren't going to use unless your frozen. As for the multi-hit C combo, if you lure the Jin player to mashing it and your in the opposite direction his wide open. I know Litchi's return with the staff is a great counter to it. Now I'm no Jin expert(only level 15 now) so I hope my thoughts help deal with the pitiful spamming.
