Good games tonight, Dragon, Techno, and Spirit.

I learned to fear all of you tonight. I also learned how to use some high low mixup.

EXP+2!!
Thanks for joining! And, yeah, good games; they were extremely fun :D If you want to play, I'm sure you'll be able to catch me online a lot since I'm addicted to the game and LIVE at the moment :p

Gonna have nightmares about Icana's Noel though :lol
Dragon's Litchi is no joke either.
Thanks! I'm glad to hear my training's paying off :D Your Ragna is getting fierce, by the way--I was pretty much cornered on some fights XD

And, as always, good games, Icana. Your Noel will fall by my hands one day!
I hope :p

Grafter, I love your Noel!!!! :D I'll be crawling up your realm soon enough. I work hard. :D

I've got a long way to go myself, but let me know if I can help! The lag seemed bad only for your matches for a stretch, but maybe the host eats more of a bandwidth load in a full lobby.

Had a blast last night! Too bad I had to run early due to a morning meeting. SF4 may still be a better game but I'll be sticking to this for the feature-packed, yet so streamlined online options, lobbies, and seemingly better handling of lag.

Anyone have a record as bad as my 3-25?

What's even more awesome is that I'm using a TE stick. :lol

I'll ask again for help from any Rachel players. I need help to figure out what to do when I'm backed into a corner. Which moves have priority on the ground? Which moves have priority in the air?

I've been working on the 6A combos...but it seems like in an actual match, I can't get in close enough to my opponent to follow through after the 3rd or 4th hit. I really need to work on Rachel's ground game. She sheems incredibly good in the air though, so I'll try to beat the jump spammers there if I can.

I'm something like 25-90 using an HRAP :lol
it's a better win percentage, but I probably got lucky and fought a buch of terrible players.

I suck lol.

Heh, it's funny how I don't mind losing though. Even if I lose, I usually feel like I've accomplished something. I just don't get that feeling from SF IV, since the battles in that game are just so straightforward.

the only thing she can really do is jab when there's the tiniest opening to start a chain. or use counter assault if you have the meter.

about 6A, it's a decent antiair, so use it that way and in training, make the dummy jump, because the timing on the combos will be different. you shouldn't get used to doing them on a standing opponent.

What do you mean by counter-assault? A+B+C? I never use that...but I guess I really should, since Rachel's special is near useless.

it's forward+AB while blocking. of course, if you learn your opponent's recovery points, you won't need to use that. just throw or jab your way out.

Baden-Baden Lily is far from useless :( Nearly all of Rachel's combos end with the opponent on the ground or hit-stunned (i.e., George XIII) which sets up for her DD really easily. Plus, it can hit half the screen at once which gives pretty damn good coverage or stacked on a single point for high damage. As it stands, a lot of combos end with batpoles anyway.

Rachel is, personally, a slightly better ground character than air, if only due to Silpheed NOT recharging in the air. 6A is anti-air with some projectile eating capabilities; 2C is similar for the ground, though it has terrible recovery. It's a great option when they're on top of you though since the chair eats hits even if you miss the attack. Another option is her j.2C with Silpheed pushing to help land the blow. If it hits, they'll bounce and you can go right into an air combo.

6B is her primary ground poke; best range and decent speed. Counter Hits open up for easy comboing and this is really your best option on the ground. 5B fires faster with shorter range and helps to create some breathing room. Besides that, you can use Silpheed to cover the distance immediately whenever they stop attacking which lets you use pretty much anything (3C, CC) to try to hit them.

Internet went out again this morning :(.

Fortunately I know the problem, and hopefully can fix it. Long as the neighbors don't put up a fuss (which they shouldn't since it'll fix theirs too).

Much appreciated. I'll use these tips when I go at it tonight!

So far it looks like the majority is PSN. I wouldn't know for sure though. Never a shortage of players in the PSN blaz channel.

Are there more XBLA players or PSN players that play on this thread?

I heard on some janky blog that the japanese pros play on PSN.
I'd say it's pretty even. It's not hard finding a match on the 360.

crow, you got LIVE? If so, add me! :D (same name as here)
I have live, but I rented the PSN version of BlazBlue. To fix that, I've added the 360 version to my GameFly Q.

I'll add you when I get home tonight.

Cool, I only have a 360 for the time being and also have a TE stick. I'll probably pick this title up later this week when I have time. I need a break away from SF4.

Papercuts

fired zero bullets in the orphanage.
I'm level 33 now...I don't like this at all. :lol

I've been fighting a lot of Rachel, Arakune, and Nu, along with the same Carl a few times. These are all horrible match ups for Tager. D:

I'm surprised that I've won most of them today, though I'm only at a 49% overall win rate(51.5% with just Tager though). The Carl completely destroyed me, I guess according to dustloop he is actually the worst matchup for Tager, even worse than Nu. Great. :p

Well that depends entirely on your attitude. I try to play SF4 on and off and I dont mind at all getting my shit wrecked as Abel, mainly because i just kind of like that character. But on the other hand loosing any match with Jin right now frustrates me like nothing else.

I'm curious, do you mean when you are playing Jin yourself or playing against him? Why is playing with a specific character (and losing I guess) more annoying than playing a different character? Losing generally doesn't bother me much, but I have to admit that getting comboed in a corner for an entire round sometimes gets tiresome (usually by insane Litchi players). But in that case, which character I'm playing doesn't really make much of a difference because I'm being comboed and destroyed either way. :lol

does the Carl player go by Heretic Kazuma, coz that's the only one I run into on xbox and that player is pretty damn freakin good.

I did a google search for his name and apparently he posted in this thread!

Game has been out for about 2 weeks now.

Does the love still grow strong?

YES.

Yo Markman, are you guys (MadCatz) doing any tournaments at Game On in PB or any other location in San Diego for BlazBlue this year?

I remember there was a small tourney for Street fighter HD:Remix at that location before SF4 came out.

Well i meant playing as Jin. And playing blazblue for me is the same as playing Jin because for some reason I dont really like the way any of the other characters play. Really my post can be summed up as "I get pretty frustrated when i loose on line in this here game".

I thought your name looked familiar, JEKKI, lol. I tend to have trouble against Litchi players since I still don't have a strategy against all of her Bs; 5B, 2B and jB beat out all of Carl's attacks. I have a far easier time against Nu than I do against Litchi, hahaha. I believe I'm 0-3 against you. :lol

Its that time again gentleman. Anyone down for some XBL hot hot action send me a game invite at KafkaRock even if it is papercuts rampaging on me :D

Interesting...so you don't need to be friends with someone in order to invite them? Just know their GT?

Anyway, add me! My GT's my name on here (I was the Litchi last night) because I'm usually on and prefer to make rooms when it's at least three people...and it's better to know when you're online :D
