The BlazBlue: Calamity Trigger Official Thread [360/PS3] - Be Ready for the Rebel

Is there a way to do Tager's Astral(A+B+C and D repeatedly) without barrier bursting? I must be doing it wrong because I can only pull it off if I already have my guard broken.

If you wanna see em, let Games On know! If there is interest (maybe after Comic-Con and EVO), I'm down to throw something together.

Cool, I'll let them know I want some Blazblue and other fighting games at Games On.

It's D while pressing A+B+C repeatedly. You only really have to press D once.

I just recently completed the story mode (trying to finish all the single player aspects before jumping into the online/multiplayer components) and I'm still a bit confused about the story, mainly the
time loop. Is the entire world of BlazBlue in a time loop or just Jin/Ragna/Noel/Nu? And is there any explanation for where Nu (V-13)/Noel (V-12) came from/why Saya was cloned in the first place? Or are these mysteries for the sequel?

I don't believe
the entire world is in a time loop, though the majority of the cast is affected by it—like how in Story mode, Litchi sees memories of herself in a previous loop that occurred in Arcade mode where she actually kills Arakune. For instance, Rachel exists outside of the time loop since she's tries so hard to change it (but fails every time, hence her "boredom" and her countless references to her being only a spectator, and not a performer, in a play). It's also implied that Kokonoe knows that the time loop exists, but since she's still within it's constraints, it's something that she "discovers" every time—or at least, that's the conclusion I came to during one of the scenes. I'm also under the impression that Noel is the "new variable" in the time loop, since Rachel and Terumi/Hazama seem to place so much importance on her existence in the True Ending—and why Hakumen doesn't "know/remember" Noel in one of the scenarios.

And there hasn't been any explanation of Nu or Noel's origins in regards to Saya.

Who paid you to grab Dr. Pavel?
So I just went through Noel's story mode for the past hour and a half-ish using this FAQ.....I ended with 98% and I don't know why. I'm pretty pissed. Can anyone help?

I really need a backup character. Litchi is starting to upset me with her low combo damage, difficulty in combos, lack of any A moves worth a damn, and no low hits.

Ya she has an awesome corner game, but I always drop the ball when I get there :(

was gonna play tonight, too damn tired though, very long day.

Ferrio- what about Nu?

High combo damage, easier combo game, 6C and 2C are worth a damn,
and that vortex thing that keeps people in place!!! lol

Edit: FMF- that site is fucking awesome!!! lol

Dude what are you doing. I think Tek's Nu is more than enough, no need for more swords.

Finally starting to put some time into this. Rachel is becoming my favorite character to play in a fighter ever. She's so much fun to use.

Oh, are there any player matches going on for the 360?

Bleh, playing as Tager in ranked is getting really annoying. I wish people would just fight normally, but I've been getting people reflexively countering my card and picking Nu or something. A level 42 who knows their way around the character comboing me to hell is not fun. ;_;

Edit: It sucks that Jin is having all these people flowchart him, I fought my fourth or fifth ice spammer in a row and it's getting so annoying. It's hard for Tager to counter because if I block they go back out of his fast poke range, and he's so fucking huge people can jump and iceboard into his face. I even fought a level 42 ice spammer. :\

Based on your percentage you couldn't have missed a major story detail/path, so I'm guessing you probably didn't lose to someone on either the Win against Tager path or Lose against Tager path. But I also noticed that the guide you're using doesn't mention getting a Distortion Finish on Carl, so that could be the issue.

Before you quote my avatar, I must point out that Selvaria (and Maybe Alicia) are the only well-endowed characters in a very large cast.

There is something off about you.

I was on such a losing streak last night in ranked, it sucked. :(

Also, something weird. Challenged a level 21 (I was 23 at the time) and beat him, then when the results screen came up, it said he was level 1 so I only got like 100 experience...but I saw him again in matchmaking and it still said 21. So odd.

Kinda random question, but are there plans for a sequel or downloadable content?

I think there's an arcade update due later this year. Someone who reads Arcadia might be able to tell you more.

Ah my bad. Guess the promo images are off.

The PS3 one looks spot on.
I took another look at the bonus disk packaging for the 360 version last night and I was wrong. It's actually clear, not green like the regular 360 box or black like the one showed in the promo image.

Do Tager's 2D followed immediately by his A+B+C+D(spam). Whether the enemy blocks the 2D or not, you'll be close enough to him and he'll be magnetized, making it nearly impossible to avoid. I think the only way to disrupt the Astral at that point is with a lucky jab. Just make sure you do the A+B+C immediately after the 2D. Wait too long and the A+B+C will count as a Rapid Cancel, and you'll lose half your Heat gauge.

When fighting Bang, Taokaka, and Litchi, finish all 3 with and without Distortion Drives. Each victory has a different ending scene.

But 100%s are NOT necessary, you know. You only need Clear Ends to get to the end of story mode. 100%s only net you some Japanese interviews which you'll probably never listen to.

I'm absolutely in love with this game.

For the record, I have never really played fighting games seriously nor actively.

BlazBlue made me interested in the genre once again, and now I have huge backlog of fighters to play with my friends :lol. Also bought a TE stick, just because of this game and now I enjoy it even more. I might suck, but I'm having the time of my life.

I was just wondering, what do you get for 100% every characters story. Right now I have 100% every character except Ragna, Hakumen and V-13. Do you get more of those special interviews or something else?

For ragna, do a DD finish on every fight, at the end you should fight unlimited ragna.

You unlock another thing in it, called the True Ending that you can play or somesuch.

I'm fairly sure there will be DLC in the future. The game says that it checks for it everytime you start it up (at least it does on PS3).

I had the weirdest gaming experience yesterday. I played BlazBlue online using PSP Remote Play. LOL

Coolest part was that it worked fairly well.

It's done by holding A+B+C, then hitting D repeatedly (I believe four times). The easiest ways to combo this are after a Spark Volt, if you hit A+B+C in the startup animation (before the bolt touches them), it won't do a rapid cancel. There's a couple other ways to combo it, but I genuinely forgot what they are since.

Can the PSP can basically work as a second controller with this method? I'd like to try this novelty.

My copy finally arrived today and i'm having a ton of fun, although most of the characters are quite baffling - so far the only characters that have really 'clicked' with me have been Jin & Litchi, and of the two I think I really prefer Litchi - took her online for a couple of battles, entered a player lobby with a group of Japanese guys, got my ass handed to me by a freaking awesome Tager before managing to finish off an Arakune with Litchi's All Green distortion in close-fought match - really can't wait to put some quality time into understanding the characters as my biggest problem is not knowing what to expect from each character. Would it be best to just concentrate on Litchi, or should I try and focus on more than one character?

I always try everyone then go back and single out one player to become my main. Once I feel comfortable with them, I pick a sub and stop there.

Anyone else see the Reria vids with Nu? I think thats gotta be the best Nu user out there right now.

I keep it to concentrating on 2-3 characters...but I haven't at all because Litchi is too awesome.

She was the first character I picked when I started the game and I fell in love :D She's really awesome and I think you should stick with her.

What version do you have? 360 or PS3?

I'm kind of curious about this game, but I'm not entirely clear on how difficult it is to pick up on it. How is it for someone with decent experience with other fighters?

Its not that hard to pick up at all. Especially compared to SFIV.

Moving from an "advanced beginner" to "online player with a positive ratio" is a (enjoyable) hill to climb though.

Easy to learn; hard to master.

I manage to get the 360 headseat yesterday, which is earlier than expected. I have no idea how to use it though. I played with it a bit and I can't hear anyone or say anything online. Hmm....

Wow, really? I thought the consensus was that SFIV was really easy to get into. If BB is even more beginner friendly, then I think I might at least try it.

That's perfect. Is there any particular character that's easy to start with?

I'll be on in a bit if you're up for it.

Just pick a character you think looks interesting. You may suck at first, but then you'll want to learn their ins-and-outs by going into training ;) And then when you go online, you'll learn from other players.

The general consensus, though, seems to be that Jin and Noel are the most newbie-friendly...as seen by the abundance of people who use these characters online.

Jin or Noel are pretty good for beginners.

I play as Jin. He's straight forward and plays similar to Ryu.

Oh no good sir. At first he may seem to be straightforward but or little bi-polar knight can mix it up quite well. Zone long to mid range and etc., etc.
