That would depend on how they'd implement it, I guess. I think the best route would be to patch everyone's systems so we can still play against the new characters, but can't actually use them unless we bought 'em.

Personally though, I'd rather they sell a bundle (new chars, new moves, and balance tweaks) and add a new option between the non-DLC and DLC-enabled goodness. Like if it was Guilty Gear XX and the new DLC was #Reload, it'd be like choosing between the original "Guilty Gear XX" or the new "Guilty Gear XX #Reload" at the title screen. That way, arcade purists or people who didn't buy the DLC can still play with all the "vanilla" mechanics and modes.

Tager has a projectile attack as well, so that kinda puts him a step above.

Hey guys (finally approved after registering in December). I've been at this game since last weekend and I'm not seeing much improvement. I'm not a button masher or anything but sometimes I think I'd have a better win ratio if I was one, I'm currently on 25%.

Is there anything else I should learn other than combos? I'm trying to learn Litchi atm and I've also been playing as Arakune. I can get people cursed easily enough but I don't know what to do once they are.

Help a noob guise.

Ever visit www.dustloop.com ? They have character specific forums which I know I've used a lot lately. But I'm sure Litchi/Arakune players here can help you out too!

So. I wanted to main Noel but everyone and their moms are using her so I'm trying to learn Litchi.

Some Tagers against my Noel just makes me feel like David vs Goliath where David doesn't even have a stone.

Yeah, the Noel player totally teched into it. The right thing do to there would've been to NOT tech.

I just hit level 30 tonight and still have NEVER seen a Carl.

Also, simtmb, you've been invited to the PSN chat. It's above your inbox icon on your XMB. You don't have to be invited to it anymore whenever you sign on, so long as you don't delete it on purpose!

I fight a lot of Noels, Jins, and (lately) Arakune, but honestly? I think out of ~130 ranked matches, I may have fought Ragna like six times. 360 version, mind you, and level 30.

Fighting Jin vs. Jin online is hilarious; they're mostly ice car spammers, so when they see I'm not trying to do the same, many of them seem confused. :lol

Funny, I've played against probably over a dozen Carls, yet....only a few Jins, and i've had just over 100 played ranked matches (Nearly level 30!). I see/vs Ragna the most online though, probably 40% of my matches were against that character.

Yeah, as it was said before, the Noel player fell for the bait and teched into the trap, Mike totally read the dude.:lol If he didn't tech then that 720 would've whiffed completely.

Oh, and earlier today I got a message from someone I'd never heard of with the title "1500 [MS Points]." It's spam, right? I just left it there and felt like browsing the tabs: when I did, I saw the guy who sent it on the list of people I'd met over BB...I don't know, it's just weird...I checked out his profile and his rep is 5, his Gamer Score is pretty high, and he has friends, which I didn't think a spam account would have.

Anyway, it's still in my messages, unopened...I should just delete it, right? Maybe I beat it him and he wants to get me for it D:

Hoorah! Level 35 with 128-128 overall, I finally got to 50% after a horrible start at 20% and a slow climb once I was around 45%. I'm at 112-103 as Tager, which might not be all that great, but I'm happy with it. Now let's see how fast I lose it! :lol

Also, random "holy fucking hitbox" moment I didn't realize before: In a Tager vs. Tager fight, you can 360A grab from the moment the round starts. I find that awesome and now try to do it whenever possible!

And that Mike Z video is ridiculous, I have no idea how he buffers the 720 with atomic collider, I love the attack but still can't really pull it off aside from standard jump buffering and the occasional backdash buffer.

Yup, good games dragon and grifter! We seem to have those moments at least once per match, lol.

I don't think anything can happen if you open a message, but it's probably a link that if you go to will ask to input your email and password to try and get your account, so you might as well delete it. I think stuff like that can somehow force a message to all the recent players and friends but I don't know how all that works anyway.

I don't play Tager, but I imagine you buffer the 720 motion while you're holding C on the Atomic Collider.

720 after Collider is probably one of the easiest buffers he has. Try doing 720 after a whiffed 2A or 5A (yes, it's possible!) Then you will be a real soviet player.

Good way to practice is doing it after Sledge, then 2D, then Voltic Charge, then stand B (hit), then stand B (whiff), then 2B, (whiff), then stand A/2A (whiff). That's the order I learned 720 buffers in. If you can do it consistently after a 2B whiff, you can actually punish them tech rolling through you with it in the corner, NASTY!

Also sup Oichi, I haven't dropped by #capcom in forever!

PS if any of you see KenEsque on XBL, level 42 Tager, 80%? win rate with him, that's me.

Level 21. Goddamn I hate Tager so much. Even more than Nu. It's like I do all these combos and then I get caught in his mixup throw game and it's over in like 3 combos.

Also I have a really really hard time doing Noel's forward C throw-cancel combo. mainly because I can't dash fast enough. Does a TE stick improve your dashing game? Because that seems to be what is causing me the most matches online. Dashing with the 360 controller just sucks.

I've been playing this so much (single player sadly) that I've just about worn out my SF4 SE stick. I decided to shell out for some Sanwa parts that'll hopefully arrive within a week.

I've gone through all the characters but Arakune, Bang, Hakumen, and v-13 for Arcade Mode, and I haven't quite Zero'd in a character that I can say perfectly fits me. Litchi's staff and Carl's puppet mechanics really make for some unique gameplay, but something about the simplicity of Noel, Ragna, and Jin call to me....maybe it's just my inner noob.

Who out there wants to help break me in online (Xbox 360)? Gently please...

I've been playing nothing but ranked matches (with the occasional player match) for about the last week. I play as Jin and I am a level 32. Ragnas seem to mess me up badly. Also, one of my friends plays Hakumen and we have both discovered that his counter Distortion Drive is incredibly useful, with it being able to counter projectiles and other Distortion Drives.

With you I'm usually "o_\\" and thinking, "down, not across" XD And, really, matches with Papercuts's Tager are HILARIOUS [to me]! Especially since I get vocal at times (see post you quoted).

Anyway, I'm training a bit more :D

Oh, and I've yet to do Story Mode for anyone D: (I had started playing before I got LIVE...and since I wanted to be dragonlife29, I had to override the profile with the same name already on my system, so, I lost my data--I had done a good amount of Taokaka and Litchi's story) I've only done Arcade for Litchi and Taokaka.

Oh, two matches I remember during the few hours I played trying to get to level 30 last night

-Met a level 30 something Taokaka that pretty much only did the "dive across the screen" attack, which made it easy to counter after blocking, and they also did her DD where she scratches your face off. Won pretty easily.

-Also met a very good Bang. Was down to the third round and both low health. He had got me in enough special attacks to bring out the Fu-Ru-Ka-Zin or w/e that is, and we were dancing around the arena, me trying to dodge his speedy self, and then he used his DD where he rushes against you. I jumped over him right in time and attacked from behind with my DD and finished him off. AWESOME.
